Stunning car after all these years! I own a 2.5 v6 - first registered in Aug '99 - immaculate in met wedgewood blue with a personal line blue leather interior. I cannot think how I would replace it, short of winning the lottery and buying a Bentley!! The last of the line. Gone but never forgotten.
good motors, I have a black 75 club tourer, bought new in 02 as my company car, the missus drives it now, after passing its (the car!) mot in november I asked her about the oil and service costs and realsied it hadnt had a service for 4.5 years! Same oil, nothing extra to done, no faults, so I arranged a service as gratitude . Its done 120k mile now, still seems fine.
Fantastic cars i really want an early is 75 with the 2.5 v6 .To me the 75 has the looks of both the rover p6 and triumph 2000 combined this was the modern replacement for both of those great cars .
thanks you for this! xD i love rover's especially the 75 just last saturday at my dads work which is a citroen dealer there was an S reg silver rover 75 connoiseur top model for scrap it ws in top nick....:( sad
Yep it is the original, if it did fail then I would change it for 100 quid with a new timing belt and be on my way, not that big a deal at all. I also had a 1999 T reg Rover 214Si 16v that done 116k miles on the original headgasket, it did then have a new head gasket but only because the timing belt snapped and it had a new cylidner head put on....I then took it up too 120k miles. I think they are good engines.
Hi, sure. It was for scrap at Citroen Evan Halshaw Cardiff South Wales, it's gone now, it was picked up by a scrap truck so it's highly possible that it is in a scrapyard in the south wales CARDIFF area. It's reg wont be on the dvla anymore but it was this....S578 LTH...i check on dvla but it's gone of the database as it's scrapped now it was only last saturday so i'm guessing it hasnt been crushed yet! xD I had a good look round and it looked very nice.
There used to be (Could still be going) a grey, LHD pre production 75 running around Worcester but haven't been there since 2007. It was one of the S??? AOX ones (can't remember the numbers) but was the V6 and looked like a Club. Wonder what happened to S495 AOX that was parked up by the Flight Shed for a while. I longed for that car
what rust? did you ever had the chance to drive that car? have you senn one ? there is no rust and at 100 kmh you feel like your sitting at home on your sofa
@TK42138 No no - I would have only been 10 years old back in 2000 when my 45 was new. My Uncle owned it from new. He worked for a defence company and covererd very high mileage in it from new for 5 years ish, then replaced the car in 2006 I think it was with a newer 45 diesel - my Aunti drove around in the 2000 1.8 for about a year before selling it to my parents in 2007, and I took ownership in 2009. I know the history very well, have every single invoice, bill, MOT certificate etc.
the worst engine ever made! You what!? haha never heard such nonsense! My 1.8 k series in my Rover 45 has done 136k miles - and I thrash the shit out of it day in day out!

The 75 was definitely one of Rover's better models overall, but as with many Rovers parts and repairs are now very expensive.
