The 75.... my favourite car. My CDTI is fabulous. Once dubbed the most beautiful car of the year....by the Italians.
The 75 has it all. Looks, refinement, comfort, and very reliable. A truly well made car...and British.

I owned 2 Rover 75s CdtI bother beautiful cars. Probably one of the most underrated cars of all time but without a doubt beauty to behold!

Rover 75 was probably the most under-rated car of its time the spec and build is second to non.
    A Rover 75 owner.

Truly inspiring. Such a wonderful and sophisticated means of production. It shall always remain a travesty that the Rover name should die. I had a 75, to say that i adored it would be an understatement, I now drive a 45 and i love it. Such majestic, British cars. Echoes from the days when cars looked good, as well as drove good. And above all British.

I have an early Crowley 75 2.0 V6. The car is great and underestimated for so many

Jeremy Clarkson famously gushed about the Rover 75 on its launch in 98 - "like a Bentley" I think the phrase was. Short Memory!! I am a proud owner of a 99 reg 75 V6 Connoisseur - possibly the most rewarding car I have ever driven!

My 2.5 V6 Connoisseue SE was one of the first one made back in 1998. Dreams would become true if I had a chance to see those glory days on my own eyes

    Brilliant Video.
Makes me so proud. Our nation as a whole were stupid for letting MG Rover go. They made some groundbreaking cars. What manufacturing do we have left. If they had shown this as an advert, the patriotic sides in everyone would have shone through.
    Lovely cars.

Exellent video, i will always love the Rover 75! :)
even though rovers can blow head gaskets and have a reputation for it.....gaskets are easy and cheap to fix if you can D.I.Y! :)

No, Cowley 75`s have a small oval badge on the front door denoting the engine size. Longbridge cars have the small wavering flag badge on the boot. Longbridge cars also have smaller door mirrors as fitted to the 25 & 45 - hope this helps.

@mgzt52 Well said. I feel completely the same way, you are right that the British government should be ashamed - what other country lets their car manufacturers, or manufactureres in general collapse and die? French? No chance - the French government support and backup Peugoet etc. same story with the Germans. Whilst BMW DID play a part in killing off Rover, you have to admire the Germans for supporting their own country and products. How on earth Rover was let go I dont know - only in the UK.

@ash7990 You have hit the nail on the head there. Blair and Brown did'nt do much to help, the French and Germans would never have stood back and let that happen.

Some of the footage 2:01 for example shows the Rover 600 rather than the 75...

IS it true that a 75 biult in Cowley has black sills, and 75s built in Longbridge have body coloured sills?
I wasnt aware of the production dates untill i saw this vid,so the only way i knew to see where it was made was to look at the sills.

They weren't shit at all. I've driven numerous K series engined cars including a Lotus Elise. The engine is very good, just a bodged redesign led to the head gasket issues from 1995 onwards.

The 600 was a great car built at Cowley from its beginning in 1993 and ended in August 1998 before the 600 went over to production at long bridge in its final year it just so happens the 600 I have was to be the last 600 built at Cowley as confirmed by the rover dealership could be the green 600 in this video

Guess you must have had a 1.8, an engine well known for having a head gasket problem. Had you purchased a 2 litre, a 2.5 litre V6 or a BMW diesel engined version, then you would have had no such trouble.

Absolutely brilliant footage - Designed by Computer; Built by Robot; Driven by morons! (Only kidding) - I've got one of the last ones - MG ZT - collectors items as you say. Hmmm.

    Total bollocks.
The best cars were in fact the first of the Longbridge cars.
