Effy was an actual style icon, 13 year old me could never! Also loved her in The Maze Runner and she was the only good thing in the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie. ❤
Skins!!! Wow what a series - I tried to watch it again, but did not have the same feeling as I had at that time so I decided not to watch it again and keep that feeling in my memory. When you are in your late teens/early 20s the show is sooooo powerful.
@@naomi.105 just because some women aren’t strong doesn’t make them “poor company” as you put it. Sounds a bit sexist. Some introspective might be useful for you, thanks
I've met weak women. I've met weak men. I've met strong people of both sexes. Respect that is granted with no standards is meaningless, and saying "I've never met a woman who wasn't strong" is just a silly platitude. It would be equally silly if you said the same thing about men.
Growing up watching Kaya grow with me, watching skins, pirates of the Caribbean, spinning out and now the Gentleman, I’ve seen so much growth and strength within all the characters she’s played and I’m glad she’s particular about what roles she’s playing as she’s got older. Hearing Kaya and others, especially actresses who were on Skins talk about their experiences is horrific, the things they went through as children seem shocking to me, I am glad Kaya had Nick to work with whilst also acting for Skins though as he seems to be lovely and looked out for her over the years. It’s just a shame safe guarding wasn’t spoken about within the acting world until recent years. I’ll always look up to Kaya as a role model and I wish her the best with her future 💗
I wonder why she is playing it up so much though. Her father was English. She grew up in England. Her mum is Brazilian, of at least partially Italian heritage.
@@j2174She’s not. Everything she says it’s authentic. Kaya was raised by her Brazilian single mother alone. She would only speak in Portuguese in her house and would constantly visit her Brazilian family in Brazil. (She’s also has spoken about how her mother was the only one in London with an accent and was mistreated for being Latina). Kaya and her family are just an average Brazilian family. Brazil’s also made of immigrants and very mixed so Kaya and her mum are definitely heavily Brazilian, considering for Latin countries you’re Latino roots always comes first.
I love british shows. As an argentinian middle-aged man I feel related to the culture of food, drinks and interesting conversation. I hope one day I will go and visit your country and fullfill my dream.
One thing I LOVE about this show is that they always include their crew. As someone who works in film as a crew member - the fact that Crew are mentioned and are allowed to laugh makes me so happy. I know this is a great show to work on.
I want to complain that those episodes are waaaaaaay too short 😢 This is such wholesome podcast ❤ great hosts, awesome food and brilliant guest. Well done to the people who are not visible on the screen 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 amazing job 🧨
Have only just discovered Dish. Am now on my 20th video. Obsessed. Not one guest is unpleasant, uncomfortable or unsettling. This is comfort food in video form, with Michelin stars thrown in. Thank you!
It's surreal hearing how she got her opportunity to audition for Skins. Imagine if she's not standing out there that day, do we even get this interview? Of course I'm only thinking of Marvel multiverses because I watched Tom Holland's interview before this lol.
She is not only gorgeous but humble, kind and talented. I feel like I've grown up with Kaya lol it's amazing seeing her journey and her growth over the years
I love this channel. The interviews are very entertaining and I feel part of the group. And just asking, is there any chance that you can put subtitles on, please? It would be easier for us, the non-native English speakers. Thank you for the show.
@@jfjjray it doesn’t work perfectly. Sometimes it misses a key word and I have a difficult time understanding the next part. That is why I suggest the subtitles.
I’ve loved everything she has done. She’s such a talented actress! If you haven’t watched spinning out, please do! TW: bipolar rep and self harm. I hope she gets all the praise and success she deserves all the accolades.
Is there food this time? I like that part. I saw the Guy Richie series, really good. Oh, here comes the food! Fun garlic bread! Best of luck, I subscribed!
And I had no idea she was Brazilian (I am Brazilian), but live in the UK and I know her from the show Skins. She is amazing and make me so proud to know that ❤ 🇧🇷
This show will be much better if Nick does at least one chore in the kitchen so it doesn’t look so ancient. The man sitting and chatting up the guest while the woman (whether she is a professional chef or not) fusses behind in the kitchen. May be he does have the ability to pick up a plate after. Just for show, you know.
Angela is a professional chef (and has help making the food on these)! Nick notoriously doesn’t cook as much, but he makes the drinks and does other things for the show that balances them out.
The Queen of my childhood. It's unhealthy how obssessed my friends and I were with Skins
Yes! My thoughts exactly 😊
Effy was an actual style icon, 13 year old me could never! Also loved her in The Maze Runner and she was the only good thing in the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie. ❤

They weirdly seem like mother and son. The chemistry between them is beautiful
Susie Glass is great and Effy was great and and both were perfectly acted....
Kaya seems to be nothing like either of them, what a great actor!
13:23 her no asshole policy! i respect her so much. everything she said is 1000000%. she's such a badass and i love her for that

The story about her dad and the wine made me laugh. Effie in Skins was a great character. That was down to an amazing talented Kaya.

16:17 - great subtle edit in the description in the upper left 😂 (edit…replace)
Her father is English. Her mum is Brazilian of at least partial Italian background (which is where her surname comes from).
Brazil it’s a mixed country so i would hope she would be mixed with something too. But yes, they are both Brazilian.
my children have Port from their birth year ......forgot to open it on my eldest daughter's 40th birthday
Finally.... they're posting fiull videos. Ive looked everywhere and can't find them so just gave up on it.

The fact that they eat pasta with a knife is WILD 😮
I named my lovely dog after her character at Skins (Effy) ❤
Such a sweet person
I have a cat called Effy after Effy Stonem from Skins ❤
meu Deus!! quero muito um pedaço desse pão!!
Best ever
Love Kaya and love the long video! But Nick, please, it's pronounced "taliatele" no "g" sound in there 😉.
So many people do this! It means cut pasta...because it was traditionally cut into ribbons by hand...no hard "g" please!
You guys should really film the dishes you make !
Yeah that would be perfect.
