"Although we all performed solo, there is no denying that we share deep feelings, and perform as a whole, whether we are actually in one space or not. We are one collective heartbeat, and that shines through in this recording." -- K. Michelle Beaton, pianist
Yall are so amazing and inspiring. I have been in chorus since I was young and it hurt when cover hit and I had to leave school. As a 13 year old during all of this I can say that being able to do this while a virus is hitting is awesome. Its hard to even describe the impact people like you have on people. Thanks for lighting up the work with your talent.
The text to Laura Farnell's “When I think of you” is adapted from two different Sara Teasdale (18884-1933) poems -- "To E." and "Barter" -- from her volume titled Love Songs.
Ms. Farnell adapts portions of the two poems into the following text:
When I think of you
I have remembered beauty in the night.
I have remembered green Ravello dreaming on her height.
I have remembered beautiful and splendid things,
soaring fire that sways and sings,
children's faces looking up
holding wonder in a cup.
But all remembered beauty is no more
than a prelude to the thought of you.
When I think of you, I am at rest.
My thoughts need you like waves that need the shore,
lover of beauty, knightliest and best,
rarest soul I ever knew.
I am at rest when I think of you.
I have remembered music in the dark.
I have remembered running water singing on the rocks.
I have remembered whitest ocean's crashing waves,
scent of pine trees in the rain,
music like a curve of gold,
eyes that love and arms that hold.
But all remembered beauty is no more
than a prelude to the thought of you.
When I think of you, I am at rest.
My thoughts need you like waves that need the shore,
Lover of beauty, knightliest and best,
rarest soul I ever knew.
I am at rest when I think of you.
I have remembered beauty in the night,
and I have remembered music in the dark.
And once in English woods,
I heard a lark.
I heard its song.
I heard its music.
But all remembered beauty is no more than a prelude,
a vague and fleeting prelude to the thought of you!
When I think of you, I am at rest.
My thoughts need you like waves that need the shore,
Lover of beauty, knightliest and best,
rarest soul I ever knew.
I am at rest when I think of you.
I have remembered you.
