But yeah. You go and pass on these strict rules or costume made rules that they have to follow. Then when they are older they complain and bitch to you about why your so rude to them. Honestly if parents are like that. Once you have stable income and a good home to live in. You can just lose all contact with them at that point.

Now you're asking for more problems than it would solve. Who's gonna pay for it? Who's going to decide which people aren't fit enough to be parents? Who's going to keep the people having their children stolen from them from rising up and revolting? Think cops/military people aren't going to be strict parents and come off a bit like these people?
Everyone gets to mess up their kids in whatever they end up getting messed up in. As a general rule of thumb, so long as you tried to do your best and kept them from becoming dead till they are 18, you have succeeded.

To this day I don't understand why he stayed with my mum. I never spoked with him about that but he seemed like he hate her too or at least doesn't love her anymore. For my dad I even tried to forgive my mum but she hasn't changed at all and doesn't even realize how bad of a person she is. That would be the bare minimum I could live with her. It's with videos like this that i always think how lucky i've been.
My parents are the total opposite of these mentally ill/psycho parents.
Me and my younger brother were always raised equally and thanks to my parents we never badly competed against each other. On the contrary, we always helped each other and the other family members/friends too.
We grew up in a general catholic environment (not strictly so, just kind of traditional) but when i had confirmations on myself being an atheist i talked about it with mom and dad and they totally supported me, saying that being religious or not is a personal thing and everyone should have the right to be or not to be so.
My younger brother is an atheist as well, same discussion.
Even if they didn't go to university, my parents always supported me and my brother with everything they could.
We both went to university (bro is still taking his second degree) and i have two degrees and a PhD in physics. Bro's studying chemistry.
We had a lot of experiences, like going out with friends, go on short and long trips to study other languages and make new friends (when we could of course, money doesn't grow on trees) and when they told us 'no' for something they always shared the reasons and it would be a 'no' for the both of us.
I was always an introvert and someone prone to be bullied, my parents taught me to defend and stand up for myself (not with my hands because violence is generally not allowed for them, but with my brain usually) and when i had stressful periods they always cheered for me and opened me to life.
They're the most important people in the world for me, my door is always open for them, my brother and best friends.

@@athan13590 when I was younger and I did something "bad" I always fessed up. I was told it would go "much worse" if I didn't. However, I noticed that I still got screamed at, got my butt blistered, grounded, etc. Older-but-wiser me realized that if I *didn't* fess up they A) didn't know what had happened, B) would probably take days/weeks/months to find out, and if/when they did C) I could look at them with a look of clueless surprise, say, "Huh?", and they'd figure I was too toopid to have done anything. Moral: if the kids tell you they did something, go easy on them. If kids ask for something and it's reasonable, say "Yes". My parents rule (explained to me years later) was to always say "No" because that would teach me to stand up for what I wanted. Well, NO - it taught me to A) never ask for anything because at best there'd be a major argument/screaming match before I could get it, and (usually) I'd be barred from having/doing whatever I asked about "on general principle", and B) keep my parents in the dark about anything I was doing, good or bad. With my kids, I *want* them to ask for and things, so our rule was to always say "Yes" - *unless* we had a really good reason (like the time fourteen year old daughter said, "Dad, can I go off alone with a bunch of senior boys?" THAT got a big fat NO - and (I'm told) an explanation by my wife as to "why", but in general "Yes" has been the operative word.

Meaning: they kill their newborns in case they're female, the same way they kill 2nd child so they don't face harsh consequences of their policies (unless they flee the country). "You cooked dinner, you have to clean up all of this mess."
"I just cooked for you, I get a break. Go clean the kitchen."
We had a small sink with a small strainer, and we used so many dishes during the day plus cooking... I wasnt allowed to let anything soak, I wasnt allowed to fill the drainer and wait to do the rest, I'd get complaints of taking too long to do them, but if I sped up my progress I'd get complaints that they weren't clean enough. Wasnt allowed to use anything but a sponge.
Came up with the idea of using the (broken) dishwasher as a glorified drainer. My dad came home pissed off and said that's not what that's for and I'm not allowed to do it again. Fast forward two weeks, he asked me why I wasnt using the dishwasher as a drying rack. I reminded him he told me not to. He said "Yeah, but as long as they're dry and put away before I get home, I'll never know."
    LIKE??????
And that's just the dishes, dont get my started on everything else. I still use dishwashers for this purpose because then at least I know they're 100% clean, and have a place to put them to dry that's not in my way

I wasn’t even allowed down to the shops on my own until 16. I wasn’t allowed to walk to the house that was only a few houses from my own at 15 years old bc it was night. I wasn’t allowed to order online and my Dad wouldn’t either. My Dad used to check my search history everyday until I was about 14 and 1/2. I was told I wasn’t allowed to speak to my best friend at the time bc she jokingly texted whore at about 13/14 years old. They also blocked her on MY phone.

Usually, while I’m on my way to school, I change my wallpaper to Taehyung (Yes I love BTS, my parents would get mad if they knew)
I log into my TH-cam channel account, they’d get mad if they saw it, as I upload videos without them knowing, and my history is full of BTS and Gacha stuff.
I go on Safari and log into my Instagram, they don’t know I have it which is why I use the online version.
When I’m on my way home, I have to:
    • Clear my Safari search History
    • Close that one private tab with Instagram on it
    • Log out of my TH-cam
    •Change my wallpaper
And I can’t charge my phone under my pillow cause my parents think I watch it (which I do sometimes, rarely at 2 in the morning)

The children who truly need help are too scared to say anything and get no help, and good parents are hurt by things that are out of their control. Its ridiculous...

Our house was like a low key prison. We had cameras called “baby monitors” in our rooms, the bathroom, the kitchen, the schoolroom (we were homeschooled) so mom could keep an eye on us at all times. We had motion sensor detectors in the kitchen and living room so it would go off if it saw us downstairs at night. Not allowed to have any food or snack unless mom gave it to us. Not allowed to stay up past 6:30 reading books (because we had no electronic so we read books all the time) We had checklists of our morning routine along with the times we were supposed to do them (brush your teeth at 6:00 a.m etc) We got up at 4:30 a.m and went to bed at 5:30 or 6:00 p.m) No going outside without an adult. No sleeping during the day. If you got in trouble you slept on the floor in the bathroom downstairs with a blanket and pillow. Fruit was considered junk food. Punishments were haircuts, getting up at 3 am and going to bed at 4:30 p.m), dragging bags of mulch around the yard in the sun, only plain oatmeal for meals, thousands of pushups yes thousands, and much more. So glad Mom divorced and left the family because she was literally crazy.

my father won’t let me eat with my fork in my right hand. he’s a control freak when it comes to manners and will yell at me if i don’t eat in the way he wants me to eat. 6-7 years ago, i dislocated my left arm, specifically around my wrist and it’s been significantly weaker than my right arm ever since, to the point it hurts if i use it (i think something went wrong when they were putting my arm back in place but i don’t really remember it that well. it also might be due to the fact he used to drag me around by my left arm, even after the incident and since i’m a thin kid it’s taken a toll but idk). the constant yelling at me doesn’t help during mealtimes and i literally can’t do anything to help it because i have to eat with my fork in my right hand or it’ll hurt. it’s caused me a lot of anxiety around eating and i often skip meals, which doesn’t help with me trying to deal with anorexia.
my father yells at me like 17 times a day, and i’m aspergers so the yelling and my sensitivity to noise really doesn’t work because it hurts my ears.
that’s just a small amount of what my father’s done and idk what to do about it since i’m too young to move out and he has had 50% custody of me since i was 5 (my parents got divorced when i was 4-5) so i can’t just stay with my mother (she’s not as bad as him but she’s still extremely strict and aggressive)

Dude when you move out you need to just cut contact with at least your dad ( preferably both) for like Idk 5-10 years let them mellow out beg and cry asking what they did wrong ( during this time plan your speech to what they did wrong so you can truly explain yourself) and during this time period of no parent contact preferably get hitched and have a kid so they feel worse about it (not that you should get married and have a kid to guilt trip someone). Yeah pretty much they don't deserve you and cutting contact might mellow them out.

That can be responsible parenting if you're young enough, knowing what adults will be around your children, confirming you actually have permission, confirming your destination. It could be weird if you often visit that house, or if you're 18 and don't have a history of lying about where you're going. Teens do lie about where they're going and then try to get into bars and such. That's not a thing I would worry about until it happened once though.

But I can think back to some talks given that have stuck to my chest even 4 if not more years ago. The idea of going to church is not to "fix sin". It's for 2 things: to partake of the sacrament, and show God your willingness to sacrifice your time to show him you care and are grateful.

I learned pretty quickly to just shut her and my father out completely, to where they became used to me essentially just being an emotionless body that they called their son. Years later I started to tell them things about my life, they dont pry anymore, they now appreciate the things that I tell them.

We have a living room with really good couches and I used to love to read there from time to time. Sometimes my dad would come in and go, “Joelle, what are you doing?” And I’d say, “Reading.” And he’d say, “Why aren’t you doing it in the TV room? It’s right there.” Keep in mind the couch over there is made of leather and this one is soft and comfortable to sit on. “Because I’m reading in here?” I’d answer. He’d say, “Go read somewhere else.” And he wonders why I’m in my room all the time. I don’t even red anymore. My beds not as comfortable. Also, my dad is obsessed with having a clean house, so no shoes on the carpet, which I’ve broken so many times. No sitting in the living room, no drawing near the couches with pen or marker or you’ll somehow be stupid and get onto the couch even thought we’re all 14, 16, and 21 years old and know how to clean up after ourselves and know how to stay clean, he still doesn’t trust us. FOR NO REASON. He’ll take things away from my sisters that they kind of they “misbehave” in a way he doesn’t like. I feel like there’s a lot of things from their childhood past my parent have passed onto us, and I’m the only one who’s woken up and realized it’s wrong. Hopefully my sisters will follow suit, because whether my parents car or not (I didn’t say this to get them to care) I’m moving the hell out and _never_ looking back.

When I got home I started crying because my dogs were gone. Then it carried into the next day at school. My principal saw me crying and told me to keep home stuff at home and to stop crying because I was at school, she then called my dad saying that I was crying because he gave my dogs away. I still kept crying though, I had one of those dogs for as long as I could remember. My teacher saw me crying and she called my mom and told her what had happened, my mom then called my dad about it. When I got home my dad slammed open my door and started yelling at me to not be an embarrassment and that I shouldn't have been crying, ext. It was a very tough time because my mom couldn't come back for at least a week. When she finally got back my dogs were gone and were in New homes, I don't know where they are or even if they're dead or not.
