- US Vice President Kamala Harris’ speech saying America should not hide from its past shows she has been “living under a rock," according to former White House staffer Barbara Heineback.
“I was always taught don’t bite the hand that feeds you, her parents came here as immigrants, she has had more opportunity than most Americans get,” Ms Heineback told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“Her parents chose to bring their child up in a country that provides opportunity and it’s as though she’s missed the last 100, 150 years of American history.”
The hatefulness and divisiveness coming out of the Democrat party is stunning.
They are doing it to hide the truth, not to put light on it.

I get that the US has good and bad parts to its history, however, why do so many seem to think that by only focusing on the bad that happened in the past we can somehow make our future better. We can not continue to keep prioritizing righting the wrongs of our ancestors if we really want to make a better life for us now.
The only thing focusing on the past as a priority is doing is keeping groups of people in a victimized mentality, which does not help them, nor does it help the country as a whole. We should learn from our past, so we don't repeat the same mistakes, but we should focus on our present and future to actually make it better for everyone.
