- The collaborative sword review with Kyle of the alientude channel on the new Balaur Arms Kriegsmesser (German War-knife)--a new model as a collaborative effort between Kult of Athena and LK Chen.
This Kriegsmesser is designed to be a handsome and nimble little brother of the Albion Knecht, with a nice hourglass silhouette and a broadened but extremely thin blade at the point of percussion to maximize the cutting potential. There's more than 75% of distal taper ensuring some incredibly lively handling characteristics, by starting out very thick at the base, it’s almost completely rigid in the bottom ⅔ of the blade and only flexes at the top ⅓-ideal for a cutting-oriented sword (measurements at the bottom of this post). It has a beautifully fluted nagel-riveted through the guard and the tang. The wooden grips sandwich the full-width tang, and have a shallow groove on each side to be ergonomic. Comes with a handsome scabbard with foliate pattern deco on the leather wrapping, a writhen chape, and perforated locket. This represents the best kriegsmesser offering after Albion discontinued their limited-run Knecht!
