I remember this to be very well done. Hard to go wrong with excellent cast! Ty. Just found your ch. As a longtime, frequent Theater of the Mind attendee I appreciate chs like yours. 👍🏼 Thanks fr Nashville yall 😉
I am 72 years old and my friends are all around the same age and not one of us sounds like the old woman in this play. So annoying to be depicted like this.
News for you:: This play isn't about you and your friends. Margot Boyd does a terrific job with what is the minor role - the inactive listener as we are. But as Christine says, there is a line of steel in her & also I feel a ghoulishly intense interest in the horror of the history which I find rather creepy...Somehow One does not expect her to tell the police. we don't even know whether she's still alive by the end of the story. Very open ended. Are Mrs F's last words actually uttered by a ghost?
my reply to my reply - perhaps there's a lot of ambiguity because at the end Christine is understood to be talking to a third person - again who includes us. She's confused about reality therefore so are we as we only hear her account of events & speeches. It's perfectly plausible that an elderly person would keep Christine's story a secret in order to keep an excellent neighbour. (I'm almost 67).Personally I don't think Mrs F was planted.
