Normal heart, a love to hide, bent, your name engraved herein, Firebird, Moffie (omg), these are on my list of the most heartbreaking ones!
And the Band Played on, Longtime Companion, and Silverlake Life the View From Here are equally if not more heartbreaking than many of these and the last one is the most difficult to watch because it wasn't made with actors.
Prayers for Bobby... 💔💔💔😭😭😭
That one wrecks you! 😭
Beautifully done. Despite, of the films you highlight, I've seen only Brokeback, I wept for them all. Okay, I'm a weeper when it comes to sad movies. Nicely done, my man.
I just watched "All of Us", a masterpiece of gay sad cinema.
One I rarely see people mention, which absolutely breaks my heart but is a stunning film is Lilies. I'm new to your channel, so maybe you've mentioned it at some point. But it has the saddest ending
Thr Trip makes me cry every time I watch it.
Same! That's why I only watched it once, too heartbreaking :(
Burning Blue is my Holding the man. I love that movie so much but I can't bring myself to watch ever again.
I get that, some movies you can only watch once 😭
One that I've watched more times than I can say and I cry throughout is, It's My Party, also based on a true story which you learn about in the commentary on the DVD.
I read the synopsis and it does sound pretty heartbreaking. Thank you for the suggestion 😊
It's My Party will shred you
@@ThePurplejosh222where can I watch it plz
Even though I loved the cast and Eric Roberts was extraordinary, I could not really bear it more than the one time. Maybe someday I'll have the courage to rewatch.
weekend is one of the best gay movies ever and also sad in its own way. sauvage is devastating, portraying young and lost male prostitute, it is really harsh to watch and has a sad ending. i am surprised that the mudge boy is not on the list, the performances in that movie are heartbreaking a couple of times. and i watched a few days ago close, its not explicitily a gay movie, but oh my god :(
I have heard that weekend is quite sad as well
Free Fall, a German film from 2013 has a sad ending & one I've watched several times
Here are some of my most memorable ones, which you may have included on other videos...
Summer of 85
North Sea Texas
The Danish Girl
Summer Storm
Angels In America
Bridegroom
1985
White Frog
The Imitation Game
Monster Pies
Philadelphia
You Are My Sunshine
...
Omg i totally forgot about monster pies! That's a true tragedy!
Punch (2022) with Tim Roth, Jordan Oosterhof, Conan Hayes
I've cried twice
More movies with a sad or a tragic end are: undertow (2009), free fall (2013), the blonde one (2019), david's birthday (2009), Soulbound (Teus Olhos Meus) (2011), Before the Fall (Napola - Elite für den Führer) (2004).
Thanks for the suggestions!
