Happy new year Stefano. You are doing a great job on your DRO development.

This looks really great. The Machine DRO PC based DRO systems I have on my lathe and mill has a fault I've never been able to get rid of, and it's no longer supported. I can see myself replacing both with this system. You have a lot of very nice ideas built in. I can see you've put a lot more thought into this than the other electronic lead screw systems I've seen. I was going to ask about stopping the carriage at a shoulder when thread cutting, so I am please to see that is coming too. You have a new subscriber, and I suspect a future customer.

Thank you very much for your kind comment :) It takes a lot of time to get it all together and test it carefully, ELS mode is taking the toll as i don't have it installed on my lathes yet, but I will start working on the necessary adaptations very soon, and hopefully I'll have more real data I can use to actually continue implementing all the features into the DRO. Thanks for subscribing! It helps a lot!

Fantastic work! Can't wait to see endstops implemented. Picking up threads is a killer feature too for cutting non-native threads (imperial on a metric machine or vice versa).
Suggestion: could you tie the cross-slide movement into the tool position when picking up, so that the tool advances at a configurable angle without using the compound? This would allow single flank thread cutting with a solid toolpost.

Hey thanks for the suggestion, that's definitely a great idea and it can be done with ease, technically it can be done already but it will require a bit of calculation on the user's end to set the proper ratio for the tool advance. sync mode can take any number of input axis values into account in real time
The other advanced features for threading will take a bit more in depth testing and i need to get one of my lathes equipped with the dro so i can test it properly before releasing the new version. Lots to come!
      Thanks and Happy New Year!

@stefanobertelli2650 Excellent! I reckon with a bit of configuration the UI could be pretty simple - just pick the tool advance angle in degrees, default 30, and DrDRO can do the (simple) trigonometry to get the required ratio.

i think ill need a few i have a els on my small lathe it has only 1 axis control so he set it up for two switches and i can adjust the dwell time so i can dial in the cross slide

Looks great! I was planning on making/installing TouchDRO and NanoELS, but it looks like DR.DRO does all that, and probably more - well done and thank you.
Will you be listing the 10" version in your store. It's basically an auto-buy for me at this point, assuming shipping and UK customs aren't insurmountable

Yes, I will add it to the store tomorrow. Need to get some pictures of it first. Will be in stock and ready to ship next week

Hi. This is really beautifuly made project. I love it. Is it possible to configure it to be used in ELS mode only? I will never use or need DRO on my lathe so I would like to use entire screen for ELS. Thank you Stefano.

That's not really a feature I planned to implement, for now you can simply disregard the inputs that you're not using. On a lathe you can use the linear scales to cut tapers as well, so you may want to install at least the Z scale on your machine if you plan to use DR.DRO. Thanks for your comments!

@@stefanobertelli2650 Thank you, but please do consider making an option for people that want ELS only, like me. Don't take me wrong, what you've made is brilliant and I love it but for now I've just ordered Clough42 ELS kit. Hopefully soon I will be able to swap it with your ELS as I would love to have nice glowing Touch Screen. Keep going man, you are really good.
