Adding DR.DRO and Servo Motor to Grinder Work Head! Boost Your Tool Cutter Grinder! (Part 1)

Finally getting ready to use my DRO on the Cincinnati No.2 Tool Cutter Grinder!
In this episode I'm going over the installation and configuration of DR.DRO for grinding applications. At the end of the episode we will have a good understanding of how DR.DRO works and we will be able to perform direct indexing and axis follower operations!

We need to get a DRO mounted on your Clarkson!!!

@@stefanobertelli2650 How do you dial in your end mill flute spiral? My mates mechanical Heller has an infinitely adjustable angle (conical friction drive) so you put a clock on a flute and just dial the angle till you get no movement on the clock. You could do the same with an jog encoder input to set the ratio.

@RotarySMP part2 of the video will show exactly that, the naive approach i took for this quick demo was just trial and error with a dial test indicator. The monoset manual suggests a clever way of doing the helix pickup that i will show in the upcoming videos as well.

Grate video and just in time I am just going to get it setup for hobbing today :)
One application where you would need to synchronise to two axis would be for helical gear hobbing I might also have to give that a try.
