Woodturning - Genius Idea for REUSABLE Water Bottle

- In my most viewed video of all time ( • Woodturning - The Wate... ), I basically did the same thing as today's video, but with a plastic bottle, and it wasn't removable. Everybody in the comments gave me shit, and rightfully so, because plastic water bottle aren't meant to be re-used, and can become toxic. So I thought I'd to it again but correctly this time, with a glass bottle, that you can remove to clean. Oh, and also it doesn't look like shit this time!

Lol of course that of all videos is your most viewed
very well done, should've used a leather strap though so the bottle would look even more 'vintage', 'artsy' and 'crafty'. that nylon strap doesn't fit well. maybe would look better if darkened with wood stain, some dark oil maybe
Good job bro. But still why put a bottle into a bottle ? Some woods can be used.
Furthermore the skin is really nice, i guess if you can reduce the thickness you may be able to let light cross the bottle or even use it as a lamp.
Bon je crois que jme suis pris la tete en anglais pour rien enfaite ^^'
Nice, Olivier. Really nice. I've been a follower for a long time. I watch you on my TV. I don't do regular TV, Only TH-cam via Roku, so I seldom comment. I'm on my Chromebook today, so I'm commenting. You have real talent, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing that with us. I'm in North Carolina, USA. That's why I don't look at regular TV, it's all bs, fake, fiction, and mind controlling. I like to watch "real life" like your channel. I can't thank you enough. I love your channel. ❤
I'm starting to think that there's no one in the world that doesn't have one of those butter cookie tins lying around. Also, beautifully detailed work, as always! It's a pleasure to watch you work, Olivier! 🎉
Seen many woodworkers use different types of wood to create a pattern, but most rarely have even a single piece that displays the amazing level of care and precision that you show every single time. Really appreciate that in your work.
Absolutely beautiful!
Always presenting new ideas and talents to make wonderful artful and useful objects. Thank you Olivier.
That is a genius idea and perfectly performed.
I received my Colt pen I bought from your online store. Wanted to say thank you from Texas! I appreciate your humor in the videos!
Thanks!
Oh waouh, de plus en plus ingénieux, avec le système de vissage 😮, et l'utilisation du tour à métaux ! C'est super une fois de plus Olivier, bravo 👌
Beautiful work as always Olivier, Thank you so much for making these videos.
Dear Olivier... at first I thought: okay... one more of patternd vases... but you did it again: fascination pure!!! A insulated water bottle... great idea and great setting!!! Your woodturning is a class of it's own!!!
Chapeau 🎩 👍 👍🔨🇩🇪
Good luck for next projects
I could watch you work for hours, you make things seem so easy it’s almost like a relaxing meditation 😊❤
Well now that’s the most beautiful water bottle out there. I would love to have just a hint of your skills with woodworking. Another brilliant video xxx
Absolutely beautiful piece of craftsmanship 👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️
First time I've ever seen single point threading in wood. Nice.
Bottle armor! Love it!😁
using a metal lathe to cut threads in wood like that is such a neat idea...I've come across them in the past but it's never occurred to me to wonder how it was done.
Also, sure, this bottle version may be less toxic and better to look at. But personally, I still prefer the other one (...mostly 'cause of how you got the liner inside it 😂 )
Really nice work!!! 🌳🌳🌳
Next level as always.
Said it before and I'll say it again, the man is a genius.
Marvelous, Olivier. Your talent with wood is so beautiful to watch and the results are awesome. You may not consider yourself an artist, too bad, I do. Art is not only paint on canvas or stone carvings but wooden carvings, even if practical, are very much art. Thanks for making the world a lovelier place.
Awesomeness. Thank you for your inspiration.
Thanks for the video, and showing my friends Im not the only one doing some woodwork with metal machines! lol
Really nice, non-shitty bottle holder. Love the screw-on bottom that allows the bottle to come out for cleaning.
This is an amazing piece brother. Thank you for sharing! One love!!!
Tip top ! Bien mieux que celle avec la bouteille en plastique. Bravo !
It looks awesome, loved the process. Cheers
I think I've said this before - you are magic
beautiful work my friend. At the beginning of the video I was thinking how a metal lathe would help tremendously in terms of accuracy. Not that your handwork is anything to laugh at. And then there you go machining and threading with a metal lathe. Well done Sir!
Now that is a great Idea ! Happy New Year !
Exceptionnel, comme toujours. Je te souhaite toujours plus de succès dans tes projets.
I like your new style of videos.Keep them coming.
Clever. A very nice upgrade to your previous project.
This guy has more precision in his hands than a CNC machine!
For anyone considering doing this and cutting their own threads into wood I would HIGHLY recommend using boiled linseed oil to soak into the threaded areas at least a few weeks in advance BEFORE cutting the threads - this will greatly help reduce the chipout that often happens if doing it by hand using a kit.
Nice job Olivier and almost 2,000 likes in less than 24 hours. Brilliant 🌞
That’s so cool man would love to have one that fit over my stainless steel water bottle that would be so cool. Thanks for sharing
Love the can shake short cut.
I’d buy that ❤ hey how come you didn’t talk? I liked that you did talk when you made that dresser that took 6 months. This was cool 👍🏼
Brilliant! 💯
Thanks! 👍💪✌
Jolly marvellous
créatif et talentueux je me délecte bravo
Brilliant!
А теперь ещё раз тоже самое, но с колбой из пищевой нержавеющей стали 😂 Чтобы не разбилась случайно.
Awesome concept, might I recommend using acme (trapezoidal) threads next time. They'd probably last longer in a material as soft as wood.
I missed your commentary !!
5:44 no, there's no way he's doing what I think he's doing
7:02 he's doing it
holy hell, this is ridiculous and I love it
Bravo, vraiment
Bonne année à vous tous.
Looks amazing, but I don't think I could keep it dry when filling the bottle xD
Encore fantastique
Id definitely drink more water with a beautiful bottle cove like that.
At 3.20 you touched turning wood with a gloved hand! 😱 Expect to be arrested by the u tube police 😀
love it
Witam jaki kąnt ustawiles do cięcia klocków
WHAT WOULD THE PRICE TAG BE ON SOMETHING LIKE THAT
WOW WOW WOW JUST EYE POPPIN MOUTH DROPPIN FANTASTIC JOB HOOT HOOT....😮😮😮😮
Why do people always have to hate on somebody else's talent?
Joli ! 👏
An absolutely beautiful bottle cover, crafted expertly with great skill, clearly mastered over a good length of time. Kudos for making a stunning and practical art-piece. But the self-assigned "genius" accolade? "Crafty" would be wittier and closer to the reality. ;)
A quand la disponibilité dans ta boutique ? 🤔 👍
Very good.
I know there is no reason why it should be so, but it's very odd seeing wood turned on a lathe.
Felt weird as well..
Amazing, as always! I’m curious about your thumbnails? I have 2 different TH-cam accounts and the algorithm showed me your video with 2 different thumbnails. I’ve tried this feature on some of my videos and I wondered how it was working for you. I’m not sure if it is helping or hurting…
I have no idea if it helps or not. As with everything with TH-cam it makes you second guess every minor decision and you don't really no if it made a difference or it just mostly random.
I didn't see you put finish on the inside. It really needs protection. Each time you put cold liquid in, the humidity will cause the wood to swell.
Wow
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Neat
01:26 was that a joke and you actually had to sand all of them or did it actually work ?
00:35
Anyone else get kickback anxiety? 😮
Where have you been ??
Joyeuse année 2025 et à bientôt.
💯🇧🇷
👍
Hey, I missed your talking/comments😢
Nice work. Just don’t drop it on a concrete floor.
Please talk in your videos. Love to know what you’re thinking about. Don’t let the turds who complain about jokes but never make their own content deter you.
🌻🌻🏆🌻🌻
And it would only cost...$100
It's still not gonna be as practical as a cheap thermos. But it does look a million times prettier.
Missing your witty talk
This man gives me a inferiority complex.
No you should consider him as an inspiration source 😁
idk why watching you cut threads into wood makes me feel so weird
7:26 all that effort and then nothing to keep the internal surfaces aligned? It even looks like it shifts during clamping
bottle cover, not bottle ;)
Perhaps 'merde' is commonly used in French, but shit is still impolite in English
God help us if a simple bit of woodwork is described as "genius'. We're doomed.
Or, you could learn to spell, it's actually" ingenious".
Where do you see "genius"???
@sylvaind.6786 The thumbnail
Congratulations, "Tinker" on complaining of someone's grammatical error when English is obviously his second language.
I hope you enjoy your Superiority Complex.
@vickeez2240 Vickee old girl, I believe you fail to appreciate 'why' the remark was made. Can I ask, are you American? I ask as most Europeans appreciate and generously make leeway for the general lack of education, social sophistication and awareness that the word 'genius' is pretty much the same in many languages. Perhaps you can have a stab at telling me WHY I made the comment?
Oh,my dear man, I thought YOU were American. Most Europeans, as you say, understand non-English Europeans do not understand all the nuances of the English language, and, to be honest, uour comment came across to me as "A cheap shot" at his grammar, as our American cousins would say. It seems so irrelevant to the context of this video.
English is not an easy language to learn, and I take exception to pedantic people who criticise other people's grammar.
If you didn't mean to criticise his grammar, then I apologise.
How do you prevent condensation? The wood will get moldy over time due to condensation. Look into double walled insulated liners instead, then it shouldn't mold.
Love your channel, Have you ever considered adding resin to your projects?
You have a great imagination.
Wow
