You're absolutely right about some doctors not sending records, it's best to get your medical records yourself.

I'm sorry to hear about your cancer. Definiately reference the TERI rules at secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0423020045 and compassionate allowance rules at secure.ssa.gov/apps10/poms.nsf/lnx/0423022185. This will expedite the process.

The whole process is dysfunctional and broken. I've been at it for 10 years. All anyone has to do is look at the adjudication disposition data for approved cases. It stands at 40% of cases get approved on average. In my opinion, it's all about the government saving money over helping people who legitimately need it and deserve it.

Yup. I’m disabled 100% Permanent and Total with the VA. Understand there’s different qualifications but I swear every male veteran I know gets easily approved. It seriously seems like my judge (a female…swear they are harder on females) and the prosecution if they’re still called that purposely misinterpret anything and everything I say. Most of it doesn’t even make any sense. And some isn’t even correct. I don’t understand how they can say it or how it can be submitted as factual. So confused. One thing is if I say something then hey I’m a liar and don’t have a bad memory (when the thing I remember is something that affects my daily life…THAT I can remember) but if I don’t remember then it’s not in the record…if I live with someone then I can get along with people but if I live alone it means I’m self-sufficient. Um…what? I could go on and on but I’ll stop there. It’s ridiculous. Another hearing tomorrow. Think either way it’s the last. I can’t deal with this sh*t anymore anyway. Couldn’t sleep right for a week after the last one. I don’t take well to being called a liar. I didn’t do 2 years of prereqs and move across the country to withdraw from medical school and apply for social security 🤦🏼‍♀️ Wish me luck!!

    Hi,
I applied for SSDI last Oct.2021. I did hire a disability attorney here in N.C.
I had already been out of work since April 2020 when Covid hit and d/t a compromised immune system and a profession as an RN working in Home Health. I was able to get Pandemic Unemployment for 17 months.
After applying for SSDI the wait began.
    I have Rheumatoid Arthritis
    Lupus
    Vasculitis
    Heart rhythm issues
    Vision problems
    Memory loss
After 3 well planned SSA MD Consults I was approved for SSDI on 1st attempt on
March 25 2022.....5 months after applying.
    I feel very LUCKY.
I have read so many comments with multiple denials.
While I was waiting for my decision I read everything I could find on You Tube and that was MANY.
I think I read everyone of your videos relevent or not....LOL
I just felt super prepared for what was to come and made my questions to my own attorney more knowledgable.
Thank you for all the videos.
    Renate Nixdorf

I got my right away but the person helping me encourage me to get all my records so I did. We filled it in October and my 1st check was in my hand by December. We sent in all my medical records and the one who helping me highlighted thing he knows would help. My main problem was back issues and the new MRI help too.

I absolutely love your channel, I’m currently applying for SSDI , I’ve learned so much just from watching your channel. The only regret is that I have is I should have consulted with you or someone from your office before I applied. I did consult with a SSDI attorney here in my county and he suggested I apply on my own , not sure if that was the right decision . When a decision is made if I’m denied I’d love to have your help in deciding whether or not I should appeal. I’m not far from Atlanta and could possibly make the trip to your office. Thanks again and keep bringing the great content. Look forward to the next video.

If your going get an lawyer now be sure to keep all your records together that will save the lawyer some time and you some money$ Be sure , to keep going to all of your doctors appointments during this time doctors. I, also am waiting for approval I have been denied three times, I too am frustrated I didn't want to hired an attorney because I really wanted to put any extra funds that I may receive ,away for my retirement. ( I am only 50 with a back issues,a knees injury) Also ,I hear the cost to retain an attorney is going from $6,000 currently to 7200 beginning November 2022 so if you need to retain one this will be the time. before the price jumps. I not sure if that varies state by state I am in NewYorkCity. Good Luck with Your Case.

Hi. I have the same issue. Had an aneurysm. It all started with a migraine wich I never had one. Finally after 4 months of seeing opthomologists one sent me right away to the main hospital and right there and then I went into surgery, now I have 2 coils. Brain aneurysm. Now this June I had eye surgery.. I got a lawyer since last year.
The only thing that's bothering and worrisome is the canceled DRS appointments , the clinics have been cancellig them and rescheduling.
I wonder if that hurts my case??

I have also been on SSDI for 20 years, turning automatically to retirement at age 65 which is in November. Will my SS benefit be reduced because of zero earnings while on SSDI????

Have my IMA meeting( physical exam and Mental exam in same day meeting) coming up in 1 week. Have 3 herniated in my neck,3 bulgin in my lower lumbar. Have had a left total hip replacement due to genetic osteoarthritis and have had severe left psoas tendonitis since left hip surgery which is totally debilitating. Can barely lift my left leg vertically without excruciating pain... get shooting sciatica almost daily down my right or left leg. Have lower back pain daily. Cannot sit for longer than 20-30 minutes nor stand for more than 15 or walk for more than 100 feet before I need to rest. Right hip is early stage of osteoarthritis and beginning to give low level daily throb of pain....do you think I will get approved on my first go round with disability? THANKS!

i’m applying for ssdi for the first time & my partner helped me with filling out paperwork and getting everything mailed out promptly. the non-medical review was completed/approved 1mo after my application was submitted, i don’t know if that’s a good thing but that would at least mean i have enough work credits to qualify for ssdi, no?
i just went to my mental status exam on monday 9/18, and am in step 3 or the dds medical review portion of the process (so says the website). i was working above SGA from mar-july from home at a temp/contract job, and attempted to apply for unemployment after my job ended, but found out online that an issue had disqualified me and i couldn’t reopen my UC claim. i gave up on that one, and then mid-august i get a random deposit from my state’s DOL, of i guess backlogged benefits i was owed way back from 2021. i didn’t even know about that and didn’t know why it was sent then, but i was just so grateful for the funds and paid my bills and moved on. THIS month i went to my mental status exam so it seems like things are happening kind of fast-maybe this means a decision is near? ❤

Question. I was approved for ssdi in 2018. Now turning 65yrs this yr. Still seeing drs/testing etc throughout. But how likely % will i be subject to cdr since im nearing retirement age?

    • @ssdattorney
      @ssdattorney  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I think that the likelihood of a CDR at your age is very, very small.

Can you still get SSDI at 65. I thought it converts to SS???

I have 4 of the impairments along with several other underlining condition that come along with the impairments. Started. In 2018 and have not got a approved yet. Over 2000 medical records pulled but the government said I need to be closer to death.

I have a brain Tumor(actually 2) and they cause me to have seigeures (sorry about the spelling) two or three times a day. I have been put in the hospital several times, for 5 to 7 days for the really bad ones. I can't work, I cant drive, hell after I have a bad one I cant even read for a few days. What do I have to do? Sit in their office and shit my PANTS? If that is what it takes, that is what I will do.I've been trying for over 2 years.

I don’t know after watching this video whether it is good or bad to have voluminous medical records. He is not making sense one way or another.

What if you have old MRI'S/XRAYS, but the doctors say you have had more of them then you should have and are hesitant to do recent ones?
Doctors do recordings at the appointments of the info said, does ssi ever access any of that?
So basically for ssi they just want the details on the application that match your medical records. If it doesn't show on your medical records they find you questionable.
I read from some books that YOU have to prove your case, or whoever is representing you. But basically you have to have the mind frame that whoever is working on your case knows nothing about you, so you have to do the work to show all the proper info for your medical info. Just thought I'd drop a tip of info lol.
