Time has passed since the necro hunt exactly 37 years as this takes place in 253 and necro hunt was in 216. This also means 45 years have passed since the golden cay as that took place in 208
The fact that we get another campaign with an all-new cast and a new region of Lustrous Expanse with a distinct atmosphere, yet the same adorable DM with his very comfortable and engaging style is a miracle! Looking forward to the next part of this journey
This is looking like my main watch list for the next however-long. Also that violin music at 1:35 after “The heart of Elynthe” was perfect, at the very least in timing
Rewatching the series again because... I want to marry it, but I've spent so long just seeing their portraits, I've completely forgotten their full body artwork! First time watching I was just enjoying it, but now looking back I just realized all the little details in their full artwork. Buck's Big Blind is a roulette wheel, and you can actually see his card holster at his belt. Wurd is wearing like skin tight stealth outfit under his fancy coat (I used to think he wore like a three-piece in there). I didn't realize Fritz's tummy was out and her arms are wings (I used to think her arms and wings are seperate). And Laira looks a lot more elegant than I expected, her outfit is streamlined and neat and the colours are so fitting with her character, twigs and everything. I feel like her character is the kind of person that I'd be too shy to talk to. God they look way better in their full artwork than I imagined. Don't get me wrong, I understand why we don't have it at all times, it's pretty large and the screen will be cramped, but man am I glad I came back to the start and seeing the full artworks.
Love how Necro Hunt's players all looked humanoid mostly like humans, but none of which were humans. And then you're not going to confuse any of these players for humans! Definitely tells the more playful and fantastic vibe this campaign is going to have versus the serious, almost horror vibe Necro Hunt had.

I just started watching OSPs Detail Diatribes about a week ago and then Figured i needed a new Actual play show and gave JoCats a click. What are the Odds Algorithm. "shakes fist at sky"
I GET that. There's a group I listen to that sometimes ends up with like 6 or 7 hour sessions. I love when they do that, because it's a key indicator that an epic boss fight is about to happen, but HOO does it take a while to get through.
The Blot kind of reminds me of the titular Dark Water from "Pirates of Dark Water" but in a weather phenomenon vice a sea-based scourge. Also Buck: "ORE NO TURN! DRAW!"
That was a perfect introduction to the campaign and its cast while also keeping a magnificent sense of pace 👍Everyone did a great job and the art was fantastic!

So normally I struggle to get into new campaigns. It's not a reflection of the talent of the cast nor skill of the DM, but more of a chore to get hooked on the narrative. This campaign start was different. I feel an immediate sense of intrigue around what is unfolding in the land and enthusiasm to see the party thrive (I would DIE for all of them). I loved the amount of detail given to the npcs to make them all feel living and breathing. I honestly cannot wait until the next installment and opportuinity to chant "BOSS!" at my screen!
Besides the amazing DM and players who all keep the game engaging and moving, I think there are two additional factors why: 1) It is very visual, with cool portraits for almost every NPC and neat overlay; 2) This is edited from the twitch VOD, which cuts off the banter between/after the game and during the break, along with some other stuff that slows the game down, I suppose. Glad you enjoyed it ^^
I typically dont like live plays, but this one grabbed me. The player characters are particularly engaging, and I am curious right from the get go as to where the plot will go. Will this be a weekly upload? Im invested
Whoooo! Needed something to listen to at work, decided to finally check this out, and it seems like it'll be a lot of fun! Jo as DM is great, Red's great, and while I don't know any of the other players from before, they're great, too!
BRO I forgot House of Elynthi was releasing I’m so excited to watch this journey also Wurd is already my favorite Edit: I’m currently playing as a Kobold and he’s stupid lol

I know i'm suuuper late for this, but i had no idea who the players were. Seeing Red and Runesmith, two awesome content creators i enjoyed individually, on the same DnD table is just the best.
The story is fun, I'll definitely be enjoying going through the rest of the series that has been uploaded so far. I will say though I can't help feel like the very beginning felt a bit rushed, like it felt as though I came in late to the story. That's not a concern based off of how the story started, in my opinion, but rather, I think, my problem lies in how it was conveyed. I think a simple synopsis on how they joined as a group would have done wonders to help this. Just some constructive criticism on otherwise spot-on work. 🙂
