- Oh boy...
This is probably the hardest I've had to work on a model kit, bar none. The weird shape combined with the quite frankly bizzare way in which Namco decided that it would fit together results in an extremely tough build, even for someone like me. That meant that the decals took far longer than I anticipated, which combined with a lot of IRL stuff to drag this one out far longer than I anticipated. I guess the lesson here is that even if a kit might look relatively straightforward on the surface, you can never really be sure until you crack it open and start building.
In the end, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. This is the first kit that I ended up topcoating before the final shots (something I need to go back and do for my other kits). As I'm currently out of kits to build at the moment, the plan is to topcoat a few more and show off some of my collection over the next few videos, which will probably mean you get to hear my voice for the first time (unless you're a true fan who's seen my much older videos...don't worry I wouldn't blame you if you haven't; they're not very good).
Regardless, it's a pretty big relief to finally get this done. I should also be (hopefully) getting a job soon, which should allow me to get a few new kits flowing in before the big stuff arrives in December/January. Hope you enjoy the vid and I'll see you in the next one.
