Most people: **Having a favorite and least favorite season with opinions on each episode** Me, who just loves the whole show and only sees a few bad episodes in MLP:FIM, not really having a ranking of season: Haha! I'm in danger :D
As someone who started watching after the series ended I didn't really dislike any of the seasons, yeah season 8 was not very good but I just liked most of the seasons. Though I agree pre-alicorn Twilight was the best. And I liked the episode that criticized the fandom because 1 it's cool they just said that, and 2 it was pretty funny to think about.
I could not agree more on season 5. It is very rare that, in any serialized franchise, I can pick a 'favourite' season, but when it comes to MLP:FiM...without a doubt, I pick season five. So many characters explored, even some we did not think would receive such attention (Gilda, Diamond Tiara, Moondancer, the Pie family, the background ponies, so many!). We also had a Big Mac episode, and even a Rainbow Dash solo song. So many things happened this season. And let's not forget the combinations of characters! Fluttershy and Twilight! Pinkie and Rarity! They worked off each other so surprisingly well. I also loved the season opener for just how dark it is, and that it had the guts to tackle the negative side of equality. I found Starlight Glimmer to be a far more frightening villain than even Discord or Tirek because of how REAL she is. There are plenty of dictators, past and present, small and big, like her in the real world, from governments, politicians, celebrities, university and college professors and even school teachers, who think the way she does and worse. And there are plenty of people who follow those ideologies. The season finale, while giving Starlight a rubbish excuse for her actions, and throwing the rest of the Mane Six to the side, continued the darkness of the season opener. I loved the exploration of alternate timelines (I love alternate timelines and universes as a concept), and the show doing its own version of stories the fandom has been doing for years (the rainboom never happening and Nightmare Moon defeating Celestia being the most obvious ones). The fight scenes were enjoyable, and I especially liked Starlight using the power of friendship AGAINST Twilight by teaching the bullies to not be cruel to Fluttershy and become her friends (and who could forget her "Quiet!" towards Twilight's typical speech?). I just wish the ending did not make her acceptance so swift, and that it did not have those happy little interactions with the Mane Six that contrasted her journey in season six. The same mistake was made by having Twilight easily fly at the end of "Magical Mystery Cure". Finally, the little cameos of Starlight in several episodes was a great and subtle build up to the finale. It was refreshing to see an antagonist, who, despite seemingly being a small problem in the vast land of Equestria, her belief system and how powerful her magic was made her a frankly terrifying villain. Unlike most, I loved "Crusades of the Lost Mark" not only for FINALLY giving the CMC their cutie marks, but also for giving Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon development. Unlike most people, who dismissed her sad backstory as an out-of-nowhere attempt to make her sympathetic. I, however, feel a different way. Up until now, DT was presented as a one-note bully. We never saw what her home life was like nor what she was like when not trying to get approval or antagonizing the CMC. Many see her irredeemable due to her mocking Scootaloo for being unable to fly, an equivalent to bullying a child for being disabled, but she was a CHILD for Christ's sake. Do the people who feel this way feel the same about real life children? Oh wait, some sadly do... Moreover, while I was the bullied one instead of the bully, I can relate to Diamond Tiara, as I suffered the same treatment (and more) from my mother. It makes me biased, I suppose. I liked that she received redemption. Besides, intentional or not, this situation was alluded to in a few past episodes - Diamond being suprized by another pony giving her a Hearts and Hooves Day card in the eponymous (heh) episode, and her frightened reaction to Babs Seed threatening to tell her mother on her. Besides, she and Silver Spoon were punished, be it direction or not, every time they were cruel. It is also obvious that Silver Spoon was only a bully to suck up to the pony she thought was her only friend. Perhaps DT is higher in status than her? I just wish they were not turned into background characters afterwards... However, there are, of course, a few other parts I disliked. I felt that Tank going into hibernation (it's actually brumation for cold-blooded creatures - they could have easily added an exchange where Fluttershy stated the word, Rainbow Dash questioning it, and Fluttershy defining the term), took away from the core message of the story - letting go of a pet/accepting its absence. I still love the episode though. And honestly, I like "Princess Spike" much better than most people do. I like Spike's dedication to the task (they could have made the episode a bit better by simply having him search and fail to find earplugs), and just the idea of Twilight desperately needing a rest and Spike trying his best to keep her asleep is just cute to me. While I am on this train of thought, season seven is a close second, purely based on the exploring of Equestrians past. I especially love that we finally had the story of Applejack's parents (what an emotional ride), how the Elements of Harmony and even the Pony of Shadows came to be. it's too bad it renders parts of the "Journal of the Two Sisters" non-canon. I love that it explored Twilight's parents and the ancient past in general too.
As someone who watched and loved the series (and fandom) religiously since season two, I agree wholeheartedly with basically this entire list. I of course don't agree completely, mainly in that I'm more supportive of seasons and episodes you downplayed (i.e., I still really like seasons six and eight, though they'd still be at the bottom for me too), and sometimes you're least favorite episodes of a season were some of my favorites and vice versa, to an extent, but my season ranking is pretty much identical, with maybe just a bit of wavering in the middle area, I might put season nine higher, etc., but season five has always been the best season to me, and Crusaders of the Last Mark is usually topping as my favorite episode as well. But in both season and episode rankings, honestly my opinion will waver towards a preference to whatever I mostly recently rewatched haha...
My ranking 9. S8 (Best: The Hearth's Warming Club. Worst: Yakity Sax) 8. S6 (Best: Gauntlet of Fire, Worst: No Second Prances) 7. S3 (Best: Magical Mystery Cure, Worst: One Bad Apple) 6. S1 (Best: Suited for Success, Worst: Look Before You Sleep) 5. S2 (Best: A Canterlot Wedding, Worst: The Mysterious Mare Do Well) 4. S7 (Best: The Perfect Pear, Worst: Fame and Misfortune) 3. S9 (Best: The Last Problem, Worst: Daring Doubt) 2. S4 (Best: Twilight's Kingdom, Worst: Somepony to Watch Over Me) 1. S5 (Best: Amending Fences, Worst: Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?)
I 100% Agree with Season 5. Dude, Season 5 is absolutely phenomenal, the episodes you listed are amazing episodes, and the season Premiere along with its conclusion are the best premiere and conclusion in the series, only barely beating Season 2 for me. And, (here is the best part of Season 5 for me) the premiere and conclusion can be watched normally, if you want, but if you have a keen eye, you can see Starlight Glimmer spying Twilight and her friends. In Amending Fences, you can see Starlight at another table during the restaurant scene. Along with Something About Discord, when someone, (I forget who) brings up Time Travel to see how the inside jokes were made, a pair of binoculars can be seen in a nearby bush, likely Starlight. With these appearances in mind, you can actually see Starlight's plan for the finale take shape. Basically, there are two ways to watch Season 5. Watch it at face value from episode to episode (which isn't bad), or pay more in depth attention and see Starlight formulate her revenge
Season one was very very good. I loved the whole season, and that’s what got me into My Little Pony. It was nice getting to know all the characters, and their hopes their fears, even their sadness, which was all the things that kept me interested.
Ik I'm late on finding this vid, but first off, I haven't watched all of "The Last Problem" (Idk why), so I gotta admit, the implication you pointed out about AJ and Rainbow actually having sex in MLP canon kinda caught me off guard. Heck, to quote PrinceWhatever, I'm definitely "still shocked that Rainbow's gay." (That's probably where he got the idea for one of the lyrics for Twilight Learned to Fly, or it could just be an unintended coincidence.) But also, I gotta agree with you on Season 8. They rushed things with the School of Friendship and the Young Six for sure. I also honestly loved both the premiere and finale of Season 5, since the conflict with Starlight at least came full circle. I actually remember watching "The Cutie Map" when it first came out on TV and thinking, "I hope we see her (Starlight) again. She seems..interesting." Which is why I thought the season finale was pretty good. But overall, great video!
Hmm... That's tricky. It'd probably land somewhere in the middle seasons, which are tightly packed for me. It would depend on the quality of the other episodes in the season. If there wasn't another misfire like "Spike at Your Service," it'd probably be above Season 4 and below Season 9, in 5th place. Or maybe it could even beat Season 9 and land #4. I'm not sure.
Lmao I didn't even realize the main ponies getting together would be weird and sort of contradicting. I've always been someone to like the main ships in MLP, even as early as season 1 and I especially loved the Applejack and Rarity thing going on in EQG, but you're right and it was a weird thing to think about. Though I do suppose friends becoming romantic isn't exactly weird, it's peculiar with them having been friends for so long while also being adults for it (But also ig I could say that's different for EQG, probably why I liked that most and found it more fitting.) Otherwise, I really agree with your points! I'd probably have the list pretty similar if not the exact same.
Petal: Some people will reject their chance at redemption, but they still deserve that chance. Words cannot describe just how happy I am to hear I'm not the only one who thinks that
10:30 I honestly got the best of both worlds. I got into mlp before S3, loved the show to death until the fight against Tirek. I tried watching S5 some time later, but no, it didn't feel right. Now is probably a good time to say that I'm a god at dodging spoilers, I purged mlp from my youtube feed, but kept the songs and fan animations I loved in playlists to revisit once in a while. I didn't know how long G4 ran, I didn't even know it ended before 2024. The only thing I failed to dodge was an image of adult twilight from the finale. I thought it was fake though. Earlier this year I found out that G5 existed. I ended up loving the movie and watching all of make your mark (I thought it had a lot of potential if allowed to run for 2-3 more seasons). Right after I decided it was time for a full rewatch of G4 (including eqg, all forms of specials and even pony life) As a diehard fluttershy supremasist I never thought best pony would change. I was wrong. I ended up loving the later seasons (yes even 8). I just had so much fun finding out how the characters progressed. Discord got a ton of character development. The mane 6 got to live their dreams, with a few hiccups. I got to meet Starswirl the bearded, this mythological spellmaker. As for rankings of the seasons I'd say (from worst to best): 4, 8, 5, 3, 1, 9, 2, 6, 7 S1 would've been higher if ticketmaster was scrapped, the mane 6 don't even act like themselves, they're reduced to lusting predators and it's awful. S5 would've been the worst season for me, if it wasn't the introduction and reform of new best pony.
I watched the rest of the video and I admit, S5 is higher than I wrote. I forgot how many good episodes there were in it, but it gets minus points for not drawing me back in when I tried to watch it long ago
I really enjoyed this video here. It has been quite a while since the ending of the show and I pratically haven't consumed nothing of pony and getting back to it due to your video was weirdly wholesome. I started watching mlp during the gigantic hiatus between S4 and S5 and ever since I loved this show so much troughout the years. I loved seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 9 while I stood for Season 6 and couldn't quite bear S8, I truly didn't like it, I had to tell myself to finish it. Of course I don't agree with your ranking of the seasons lol, I wouldn't exactly know how to put this out but my top 5 would definetly be consisted out of seasons 1, 2, 4, 5 and probably 9 or 7. Loved the fact that your favorite episode is Crusaders of the Lost Mark, is actually a great episode. and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THAT YOU LIKE BRIDLE GOSSIP ABOVE ALL ELSE IN SEASON 1 because I also do and I haven't seen anyone who also found it as good as it IS. Great video, you won a subscriber! Stay pony, my friend.
I don't remember ever hating any episode or thinking any of them are terrible. Some episodes were just kinda boring at their worst. Some seasons are better than others, but on the whole, MLP FiM has got to be one of the most watchable, enjoyable shows out there.
My favorite seasons are the first one, the second one, the third, the fourth, the fifth one, the seventh and the ninth one. I think season 8 is the worst even though I like it the school only had a purpose for season 8 then when season 9 came it became useless because the main 6 were going to leave the school so they can rule cantelot since the princesses retired.
I disagree Seasons 1 2 3 4 had pretty damn good writing, 5 wasn't bad but 6 was terrible. 7 was a good season tho. Stopped watching it after that this show is overrated in my view.
"Filler" is a tough term in My Little Pony. It's often a slice of life show, so in a way the whole show is filler except the premiers and finales. Of course, some mid-season episodes do more to progress the overall plot than others. For example, "Crusaders of the Lost Mark" was a landmark for the CMCs. But some of the show's best episodes are "filler." For example, my favorite episode of Season 8 is "Road to Friendship." What does that do to progress the overall plot? Nothing. It just has a catchy song and an endearing friendship. Lots of excellent episodes are "filler:" "Party of One," "Bats!," "Filli Vanilli," "Slice of Life," "Amending Fences," and "The Mane Attraction," to name a few. It's harder to say if whole seasons are filler, because pretty much all of them have at least a few episodes that contribute to the overall plot. But there are some seasons that contribute less. Season 2, for example. Season 1 introduces everything, and Season 3 turns it all on its head by making Twilight an alicorn. By comparison, Season 2 is just filler. The other seasons that don't change the status quo in my opinion were Seasons 6 and 7. Twilight was established as the Princess of Friendship in Season 4 (as well as the Golden Oak Library being destroyed and the new castle appearing with its mysterious map). Season 5 introduced Starlight Glimmer and started the map quests. Things kind of stayed the same from there until Season 8 really shook it up with the School of Friendship and the Young Six. Of course, being filler isn't always bad. I like Season 7 a lot more than Season 8, for example. Filler material works really well for MLP because it's a slice of life show, and because it has so many fun characters to work with when the plot slows down. Hope that answers your question!
Thanks! I'm hoping my new channel (th-cam.com/channels/Oh4KPX061Uhh_7sa6dJtMg.html) gets popular, but for some reason this video on my old channel is doing really well.
Honestly, when I saw your first two seasons were s8 and s6 I got extremely excited because I thought you were gonna have my exact ranking (i also hate s8 and think s6 is meh) but you lost me at s3 and the whole thing went south from there 😂 S3 is my 2nd favorite, and I LOVE Magical Mystery Cure because of how beautiful and emotional it was. Then when you continued on with S2 at first I thought you're just bluffing since you also said you didn't like the two parters, which were phenomenal for me, but when you said that you're not much of a plot person as a character one, that's where I understood that our tastes are opposite. And once you said it, I IMMEDIATELY bet my ass that you were gonna rank S5 as top and I was RIGHT xdd Probably because I know the seasons by heart and know s5 is very character-focused. In case you're still curious, my favorite is Season 4, followed by Season 3. I just ball my eyes out when there's emotional plot developments, and Twilight's Kingdom is still my favorite episode in the whole series, followed by MMC then probably Perfect pear. I'm just glad everyone in the mlp community collectively shits on S8 LOL
My rank for mlp seasons 1:Season 4 (Favorite Episode of the whole series: Simple ways; Hated Episode: Rainbow Falls) 2:Season 5 (Favorite Episode: Rarity Investigates; Hated Episode: The Mane Attraction) 3:Season 1 (Favorite Episode: Look Before You Sleep; Hated Episode: Boast Busters) 4:Season 2 (Favorite Episode: Sweet and Elite; Most Hated Episode of the whole series: A Friend in Deed) 5:Season 7 (Favorite Episode: It Isn't the Mane Thing About You; Worst Episode: Secrets and Pies) 6:Season 6 (Favorite Episode: The Gift of the Maud Pie; Worst Episode: Every Little Thing She Does) 7:Season 8 (Favorite Episode: The End in Friend; Hated Episode: Non-Compete Clause) 8:Season 3 (Favorite Episode: Wonderbolts Academy; Worst Episode: Magical Mystery Cure) 9:Season 9 (Episode I Kind Of like: Frenemies; Worst Episode: Dragon Dropped) I'm a big Rarity fan if my chooses don't show you that.
Or, you could be like me and have actually WATCHED the season 5 opening AT BYU as part of the BYU bronies group at the time. That was quite an experience, I'll tell you what.
yeah 3 years late… BUT my ranking would maybe go like this: 9. season 8. this season just doesn’t feel like… home?? i can’t describe it any better. but i just don’t like all the school episodes and that stuff… :’d but not bad of course! favourite episode: the washouts 8. season 9. many good and fun episodes and the most beautiful ending for a beautiful show
Heh. Season 5 and starlight glimmer ended my love of the show and the fandom for good. Never bothered with it ever again. She was a rotten character and the change to the writing staff was noticeable in every character.
I also hated season 8 for be honest, It kinda of they squeezed all the ideas early and just said: ''oh let's stretch it put everything that is on your mind and call it a season''
Ok, spice of life may have not been the most entertaining BUT THAT FOOD AND THAT SONG YUM OH MY GOD 🎶🎵 BE UNIQUE! JUST BE THE SAME I don’t know what this part is BLAH BLAH BLAH EVERY STEP THE WAY 🎶🎵 Also I agree with loving the slice of life episodes from the earlier seasons but Expecially the one where pinkie pie and the other bakers are on the train OH MY GOD I LOVE ALL OF THE PEACEFUL EPISODES Keep in mind I started VERY EARLY I’ve been watching since I was at least 5 and possibly even earlier probably around like season 3 so I have WAY to much nostalgia for this show I actually was starting to check what day season 5 would come out so I’m not really sure??? I was old enough to have a tablet for a long time so…? Also , i don’t agree with your opinion .. at all but I get having a different opinion like for example I LOVE castle sweet castle .. because pancake and it was great to see you not afraid to give your opinion because it’s pretty scary to do not Especially in like the BIGGEST FANDOM OF ALL TIME
My ranking #1 I can’t decide so I won’t. Season 5,4,7 #2 season 6 #3 season 3 #4 season 9 #5 season 1 #6 season 2 #7 season 8 I don’t think any season is bad. Some are just better.
Says Season 3 is weak. ME: Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Revives controversy about Twilight becoming an alicorn. ME: .... Says Season 5 is the best season. ME: Definitely. I 100% agree. Says he doesn't dislike any episode in Season 5. Me (remembering "Princess Spike"): You're dead to me.
Dragon quest was horrible lol. Luna esplied was good Tho. My favorite episodes are in each season 1 Cutie Mark chronicles, sonic rainboom, sutied for success. Party of one, best night ever, winter wrap up 2 Return of harmony pts 1 2, lesson zero, sisterhoove social, read it and weep, hurricane fluttershy 3 Magic dual, sleepless in ponyville, too many pinkie pies 4 Pinkie pride, Twlights kingdom, testing testing 1 2 3, for whom the sweetie belee tolls, flight to the finish, pinkie apple pie 5 Cutie map pts 1 2, Slice of life, the mane attraction, Amending fences and crusaders of the lost mark. 6, stranger then fan fiction, gaulet of fire, buckball season, top bolt, hearts warming tale and saddle row review 7 the perfect pear, discount harmony, the Royal problem, 8 sounds of silence, what lies beneath, molt down, and surf and or turf 9 sparkle seven, the big mac question, between dark and dawn, student Council, the last laugh and the last problem
Yeah I know Season 6 is a mixed Season within the Fandom, some calling it good or great, and others call it meh or being the worst of the entire series. To be honest, Season 6 is a decent season to me because it introduced my favorite character Thorax, the Season Finale was fantastic for being very creative in terms of character roles, and I do like how the characters can be really expressive in terms of their faces. But yeah, I do see the mediocrity in this season as well like the premier is so mediocre that it's the worst opener to a season and most of the episodes are pretty forgettable, but not to the point of being bad. I would take something that is just plain and forgettable with some good stuff in it, over a season that is just plain frustrating with very few good things (*Cough* Season 8 *Cough*). Season 6 is just decent to me with a few great elements from the season. I mean, they gave Spike great episodes such as "Gaulent of Fire" and especially "The Times They Are a Changeling", a fantastic Season Finale, did give a decent effort to develop Starlight Glimmer, and the characters being more expressive in some scenes makes it decent, despite most of the episodes are just mediocre and forgettable. Here's my ranking of the Seasons: 1. Season 4 (Still my favorite Season.) 2. Season 7 (Thorax in this Season is purely the best.💚) 3. Season 3 (Despite this Seasons' short length and the Finale being really mixed, I liked it and this Season is what got me into the show in the first place.) 4. Season 2 5. Season 1 6. Season 9 (Slightly more good than Season 6.) 7. Season 6 (It's more decent than the other two with really great episodes being found in a good amount of mediocre episodes. Thorax is the best element of the Season, hands down to me.) 8. Season 5 (I have to disagree, but it's fine if this is your favorite Season.) 9. Season 8 (Yeah, no competition.)
Finaly someone besides me, who first Got into the show, AFTER it had ended. To me there wassent any seasons i disliked, but more so seasons i liked more than others, and there were only a handfull of episodes i dident like and dident get some enjoinment out of, my rankings goes more like this. 9. Season 9 The starter episode fore it, made me really exsited fore that season, but unfortunetly alot of that seasons episodes just dident interest me, so it lost its momentum, then theres the final, you may like it, but theres one fatal thing they did, that bringes it Down sevarel steps, that i just cant overlook, and thats the Discord grogar ✌️twist✌️, they introduced this new villan, made him seem like he was gonna be the Ultimate unredeemable obstecall fore the main six, that i was looking foreward to se striking, and then they squasht his potiential completly, fore the sake of doing something unpredictable, that dident enhance the story AT ALL, and while Discord is something of a irresponsible prangster, he is also an incredeblibly smart and subtle manipulativ mastermind, so its actually out of charekter fore him, to not see this huge problem in his plan, and do something thats THAT recless, irrisponseble and dangerous, not to mention that he got out of it Scot free, without any sort of punishment fore it, anyone who things this twist was good, dosent know what a good twist looks like, because this wassent misleading the audience, it was straigt op lying to Them, and if they really never intentet to use Grogar, then they shouldent have introduced him in the first place, this also made them do this other stupid thing after (thats not nearly as bad, but its still dump writing) where they state no one but Discord, can comprehend the magic of Discord, wich is clearly NOT TRUE, because as we see all the way Back in season 4, that Tirek absorbt Discord magic, and he was tottaly fine, anyway i gotta get Back on trag, the rest of the final, was just avarage to me compared to the other finals thougout the show, and the sendoff was bittersweat and made me emotional, so that ending was atleast satisfying. 8. Season season 8 I actually liked the new student six, and wanted to see and learn more about them, unfortunently they dident get nearly as much screen time as they deserved, maybe if we had gotten a spin-off about them next to the show, just like with equestria girls, then everything would have workt better, i also liked Cosy glow as a villan, she was like if Tom riddle had reincarnated as pony, and having a villan that dident have the phissicly or magicly hammer, but more so was the greatest schemer, was a Nice change of pach, thoug it could have been handelt better, i still enjoyt it. Number 7. Season 3 Its only rankt this below because its shorter, its episodes was enjoyeble but not amasing, and while the best part of it was the final, it was clearly rusht, and would have workt better as a two parter. Number 6. Season 6 This season is ok, it was a mixed bag, it had sertain episodes that dident stig around long term wise, episodes like P. P. O. V., 28 prangs latter and Dungeons and Discord, (that episode is among my top five least liked episodes, do to how we could have gotten an episode in the still of the Power ponies episode, but with Roll playing instead, but they just had to wast all there time so we dident get it) and the episode The cart before the ponies was wasted potiential, as that would have workt WAY better, with one simple twist, make the crusaders swap Big sisters fore a day, that would have given us some interaktions that we dont see that often, the crusaders would learn more about there friends big sisters, and the relationship they have with friends, the Big sisters would learn more about there little sisters friends, and the relationship they have with there Big sisters, and everyone would become closer at the end of the episode, and we as the audience would fell like we learn along with them. But i wanna put higlights on episodes like the sadle row reveiw, newbie dash, gauntlet of fire, those were some really good episodes, that makes it so i cant put this season lover, and it had one of my favorite finals in the entire Series. Number 5. Season 1 Its nice and it did a good job getting me into the show, and intruducing the chareckters, (something i dident thougt possible at the time) while it does a few great episodes, the truely great ones, first came after this one. Number 4. Season 7 This season was an intersting one, as it did alot of cretive things that was welcome, and tied things nicely together in a final that wassent that epick or exciting, but gave us Nice lore satisfieng lore. Number 3. Season 2 This season truely showt what the show had potiential to do, it experimentet with alot of different things and conceps, and somehow it diddent fell like a mess, this season was truely what put the show on the map, you can say season 1 walkt, so season 2 could run. Number 2. Season 5 Just like you Said, this season had alot of the best episodes in it. Number 1. Season 4 I actually loved the seasonal arc, along with giving us alot of episodes i loved, just like season 5, but along with that this season also Challenged the main six, in personal ways, and it ended with the BEST final in the Series, it was epick, you felt the stakes, and it was chareckter focused, and it gave a satisfying counclusion to the Hole seasons run, like everything truely had been leasing op to that momment (take notes season 9 finale), and it set it op to allow season five to introduce the cutie map, it had the best of Both season 7 and 5.
Hello yes about Applejack and Rainbowdash, I don't really think having them be in a relationship detracts from them being friends. If anything, I think it would make them closer friends, considering that you would probably be friends with your significant other if you really cared about them. I do find you equating Appledash being canon to being sexual even though nothing indicated that in canon slightly problematic. I don't think that was your intention, but sapphic relationships are usually portrayed as being sexual eye candy in mainstream media (which is being combatted now thankfully) so it feels slightly like you're perpetuating that. Again, I doubt that was ever your intention at all. I'm not trying to force you to like Appledash. I don't really ship it myself, since I'm more partial to Rarijack and Pinkiedash myself. I was just trying to bring up that I think you could've handled Appledash being canon a bit better. I doubt you'll even see this comment since you have a new channel and probably don't check notifications for this one often, but I just wanted to bring this up.
I don't get it why do we need school to learn friendship? We have Equestria Girl already! Minus studying friendship at school. Because I prefers older season of MLP, I didn't consider AppleJack's job, so, it doesn't make sense to turn her into a teacher. I have mix feeling about Twilight transformation to Alicorn. It's best to end on Season 3 to show how she grown up but we know Hasbro, they will continue no matter what. I hate episode that criticize the fandom or breaking the fourth wall like that. We have better things to tell!
Would have ranked: 1. Season 5 (The Cutie Map was so FREAKING apropos to the politically correct nonsense in the country at the time) 2. Season 2 (Hey, I watched it live and you have to factor in the impact it had on the fandom at the time) 3. Season 1 (Still gives me a good feeling overall) 4. Season 3 (Nostalgic for when I transferred into BYU) 5. Season 4 (Meh but good) 6. Season 7 (Frequently makes fun of wokeness) 7. Season 8 (Gets a boost solely for Sounds of Silence, the ONLY good episode in season 8) 9. Season 6 (Tie) (But, A Hearth's Warming Tale and Stranger Than Fan Fiction were good) 9. Season 9 (Tie with season 6 for worst. The resolutions at the end are decent but not great. At least they were able to end the show in a satisfactory way)
Dude, nobody thinks you're weird because you don't wear a smile. I know what you're talking about and you're missing out on the greater parts of it, you may have unfortunately been to a part that was not the way it normally is, but just because that one place was bad, doesn't mean everything else is. Trust me, it's a good thing. It's really saddening to hear someone had a bad time in our culture, when our whole thing is to be a good Samaritan. You shouldn't be forced to act a way you aren't, you should be encouraged like I was. I grew into my polite self quite (truthfully) happy. You can too
It sounds like you're from the same region or culture as me, so here's my take: Some people really do think I'm weird because I don't wear a smile. I'm actually a decently happy person; I just don't express it in the same way. Don't get me wrong. I'm completely convinced of the Gospel's life-changing power and of God's greatness, as I've mentioned in several of my pony videos. That's more important than any negative experience I've had or may have. But I do think we've instilled the Gospel with some cultural quirks that can push away and harm those who are different. Take BYU's dress and grooming standards, for example. What sin am I committing if I have long hair, a beard, or dyed hair? It's too much like Starlight's Town (remember the mare whose manedo Starlight "fixed") for me not to make the comparison.
@@PeacePetal You are absolutely right. I'm sorry for doubting you in any way. You make a good point and have made my day 😁 I'm really happy to see someone else bring smart and not over pompous about that kind of thing. It's true others in the gospel can be horrible people. The last ward I was at, most of the people there were overly fake and actually rude, and downright disgusting in camp outs and activities.

This channel is no longer active because I have a new channel (th-cam.com/channels/Oh4KPX061Uhh_7sa6dJtMg.html) with newer uploads. I've even reuploaded this very video onto my new channel (th-cam.com/video/5d6TEhOSsHU/w-d-xo.html), but nopony has bothered to watch this same video on my current channel. Most people: **Having a favorite and least favorite season with opinions on each episode**
Me, who just loves the whole show and only sees a few bad episodes in MLP:FIM, not really having a ranking of season: Haha! I'm in danger :D
Yes you are lol Seasons 1 2 3 4 are fantastic and 5 was watchable. But 6-9 are terrible. In my opinion anyway.
I feel nostalgic for s1.
I can't believe I finally found someone who likes Dragon Quest, it really is an overhated episode.

2. S4 (Best: Twilight's Kingdom, Worst: Somepony to Watch Over Me)
1. S5 (Best: Amending Fences, Worst: Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?)
totally agree with this ranking!
Dude this needs WAY more views. The video is really well made! Loved the editing.
Season 5 is my favorite episode as well.
A welcome & well-spoken perspective.
Honestly S3 is probably my second favorite season and btw if S3 was full lenth where would you put it
Tier List of each MLP season
S: Season 7, Season 9, Season 4
A: Season 5, Season 2, Season 3, Season 1
B: Season 8
C: Season 6
Words cannot describe just how happy I am to hear I'm not the only one who thinks that
I started watching My Little Pony because I ran out of things to watch on Netflix during the lockdown.
That is literally what happened to me.
Me as well
Nice to know I'm never alone. 🙂
I'm also got some good ideas for fanfics. And can't wait to write them❤
10:30 I honestly got the best of both worlds.
Right after I decided it was time for a full rewatch of G4 (including eqg, all forms of specials and even pony life)
As a diehard fluttershy supremasist I never thought best pony would change.
As for rankings of the seasons I'd say (from worst to best): 4, 8, 5, 3, 1, 9, 2, 6, 7
S1 would've been higher if ticketmaster was scrapped, the mane 6 don't even act like themselves, they're reduced to lusting predators and it's awful.
You're getting back into pony because of my video? SCORE!!!

how come this channel doesn't have more subscribers smh
This is my old channel. My new channel (th-cam.com/channels/Oh4KPX061Uhh_7sa6dJtMg.html) has more. Although not by much...
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is an MLP fan who hated season 8 for those exact same reason
I don't remember ever hating any episode or thinking any of them are terrible. Some episodes were just kinda boring at their worst. Some seasons are better than others, but on the whole, MLP FiM has got to be one of the most watchable, enjoyable shows out there.
congrats you showed up in my recomended i also re discovered mlp after it ended
8:57 Don't worry about that, dude. I didn't even WATCH The Last Roundup, because of how bad it was.
👍❤ I love all the seasons of my little pony friendship is magic
no matter which ones you like, you have to admit the dialogue became wildly better as the show went on, especially in the final seasons
It's true, the dialogue was sometimes clunky in Season 1.
I disagree Seasons 1 2 3 4 had pretty damn good writing, 5 wasn't bad but 6 was terrible. 7 was a good season tho. Stopped watching it after that this show is overrated in my view.
@@lordshenfan6625 writing, sure, but dialogue? hell nah
so what seasons and episodes do you consider filler out of the whole franchise?
@@jeffreydosdall4481 So basically filler is better than season 8
@@gachalifeakiegaming3315 It's true. Filler is best.
@@PeacePetal I dont care if something is filler lol
@@gachalifeakiegaming3315 Yeah, me too.
nice video! hope you will get more views and subscribers
Thanks! I'm hoping my new channel (th-cam.com/channels/Oh4KPX061Uhh_7sa6dJtMg.html) gets popular, but for some reason this video on my old channel is doing really well.
s3 and s7 are my favorites
Honestly, when I saw your first two seasons were s8 and s6 I got extremely excited because I thought you were gonna have my exact ranking (i also hate s8 and think s6 is meh) but you lost me at s3 and the whole thing went south from there 😂
S3 is my 2nd favorite, and I LOVE Magical Mystery Cure because of how beautiful and emotional it was.
My rank for mlp seasons
1:Season 4 (Favorite Episode of the whole series: Simple ways; Hated Episode: Rainbow Falls)
2:Season 5 (Favorite Episode: Rarity Investigates; Hated Episode: The Mane Attraction)
3:Season 1 (Favorite Episode: Look Before You Sleep; Hated Episode: Boast Busters)
4:Season 2 (Favorite Episode: Sweet and Elite; Most Hated Episode of the whole series: A Friend in Deed)
5:Season 7 (Favorite Episode: It Isn't the Mane Thing About You; Worst Episode: Secrets and Pies)
6:Season 6 (Favorite Episode: The Gift of the Maud Pie; Worst Episode: Every Little Thing She Does)

8:Season 3 (Favorite Episode: Wonderbolts Academy; Worst Episode: Magical Mystery Cure)
9:Season 9 (Episode I Kind Of like: Frenemies; Worst Episode: Dragon Dropped)
I'm a big Rarity fan if my chooses don't show you that.
Honestly I agree completely
Season 5 and 4 are the peak
Or, you could be like me and have actually WATCHED the season 5 opening AT BYU as part of the BYU bronies group at the time. That was quite an experience, I'll tell you what.
That sounds way cool. And kind of meta.
yeah 3 years late…
BUT
my ranking would maybe go like this:
9. season 8. this season just doesn’t feel like… home?? i can’t describe it any better. but i just don’t like all the school episodes and that stuff… :’d but not bad of course!
favourite episode: the washouts
8. season 9. many good and fun episodes and the most beautiful ending for a beautiful show
JUST BE THE SAME I don’t know what this part is BLAH BLAH BLAH EVERY STEP THE WAY 🎶🎵
Also I agree with loving the slice of life episodes from the earlier seasons but Expecially the one where pinkie pie and the other bakers are on the train OH MY GOD I LOVE ALL OF THE PEACEFUL EPISODES
Keep in mind I started VERY EARLY I’ve been watching since I was at least 5 and possibly even earlier probably around like season 3 so I have WAY to much nostalgia for this show I actually was starting to check what day season 5 would come out so I’m not really sure??? I was old enough to have a tablet for a long time so…?
Also , i don’t agree with your opinion .. at all but I get having a different opinion like for example I LOVE castle sweet castle .. because pancake and it was great to see you not afraid to give your opinion because it’s pretty scary to do not Especially in like the BIGGEST FANDOM OF ALL TIME

Here's my ranking of the Seasons:
1. Season 4 (Still my favorite Season.)
2. Season 7 (Thorax in this Season is purely the best.💚)
3. Season 3 (Despite this Seasons' short length and the Finale being really mixed, I liked it and this Season is what got me into the show in the first place.)
4. Season 2
5. Season 1
6. Season 9 (Slightly more good than Season 6.)
7. Season 6 (It's more decent than the other two with really great episodes being found in a good amount of mediocre episodes. Thorax is the best element of the Season, hands down to me.)
8. Season 5 (I have to disagree, but it's fine if this is your favorite Season.)
9. Season 9
The starter episode fore it, made me really exsited fore that season, but unfortunetly alot of that seasons episodes just dident interest me, so it lost its momentum, then theres the final, you may like it, but theres one fatal thing they did, that bringes it Down sevarel steps, that i just cant overlook, and thats the Discord grogar ✌️twist✌️, they introduced this new villan, made him seem like he was gonna be the Ultimate unredeemable obstecall fore the main six, that i was looking foreward to se striking, and then they squasht his potiential completly, fore the sake of doing something unpredictable, that dident enhance the story AT ALL, and while Discord is something of a irresponsible prangster, he is also an incredeblibly smart and subtle manipulativ mastermind, so its actually out of charekter fore him, to not see this huge problem in his plan, and do something thats THAT recless, irrisponseble and dangerous, not to mention that he got out of it Scot free, without any sort of punishment fore it, anyone who things this twist was good, dosent know what a good twist looks like, because this wassent misleading the audience, it was straigt op lying to Them, and if they really never intentet to use Grogar, then they shouldent have introduced him in the first place, this also made them do this other stupid thing after (thats not nearly as bad, but its still dump writing) where they state no one but Discord, can comprehend the magic of Discord, wich is clearly NOT TRUE, because as we see all the way Back in season 4, that Tirek absorbt Discord magic, and he was tottaly fine, anyway i gotta get Back on trag, the rest of the final, was just avarage to me compared to the other finals thougout the show, and the sendoff was bittersweat and made me emotional, so that ending was atleast satisfying.
8. Season season 8
I actually liked the new student six, and wanted to see and learn more about them, unfortunently they dident get nearly as much screen time as they deserved, maybe if we had gotten a spin-off about them next to the show, just like with equestria girls, then everything would have workt better, i also liked Cosy glow as a villan, she was like if Tom riddle had reincarnated as pony, and having a villan that dident have the phissicly or magicly hammer, but more so was the greatest schemer, was a Nice change of pach, thoug it could have been handelt better, i still enjoyt it.
Number 7. Season 3
Its only rankt this below because its shorter, its episodes was enjoyeble but not amasing, and while the best part of it was the final, it was clearly rusht, and would have workt better as a two parter.
Number 6. Season 6
This season is ok, it was a mixed bag, it had sertain episodes that dident stig around long term wise, episodes like P. P.
Number 5. Season 1
Its nice and it did a good job getting me into the show, and intruducing the chareckters, (something i dident thougt possible at the time) while it does a few great episodes, the truely great ones, first came after this one.
Number 4. Season 7
This season was an intersting one, as it did alot of cretive things that was welcome, and tied things nicely together in a final that wassent that epick or exciting, but gave us Nice lore satisfieng lore.
Number 3. Season 2
This season truely showt what the show had potiential to do, it experimentet with alot of different things and conceps, and somehow it diddent fell like a mess, this season was truely what put the show on the map, you can say season 1 walkt, so season 2 could run.
Number 2. Season 5
Just like you Said, this season had alot of the best episodes in it.
Number 1. Season 4
I actually loved the seasonal arc, along with giving us alot of episodes i loved, just like season 5, but along with that this season also Challenged the main six, in personal ways, and it ended with the BEST final in the Series, it was epick, you felt the stakes, and it was chareckter focused, and it gave a satisfying counclusion to the Hole seasons run, like everything truely had been leasing op to that momment (take notes season 9 finale), and it set it op to allow season five to introduce the cutie map, it had the best of Both season 7 and 5.
Season 8 not favorites to much changes love your channel
Thanks!
Season 5 is my fav
Yo can't rank evry season because all of the was good
Hear here!
My ratings would be
1. Season 4
2. Season 2
3. Season 1
4. Season 5
5. Season 7
6. Season 3
7. Season 9
8. Season 6
9. Season 8
Appledash is just pandering, those two ending up together doesn't make any sense
Agreed!
Well you have to remember that the show was made to promote Hasbro’s toys and when the decided to make a school play set well…
@@Cami81639 Isn't the show that help sell toy instead of promote them? People buy MLP toys because they approve of the message and moral.
Would have ranked:
1. Season 5 (The Cutie Map was so FREAKING apropos to the politically correct nonsense in the country at the time)
2. Season 2 (Hey, I watched it live and you have to factor in the impact it had on the fandom at the time)
3. Season 1 (Still gives me a good feeling overall)
4. Season 3 (Nostalgic for when I transferred into BYU)
5. Season 4 (Meh but good)
6. Season 7 (Frequently makes fun of wokeness)
7. Season 8 (Gets a boost solely for Sounds of Silence, the ONLY good episode in season 8)
9. Season 6 (Tie) (But, A Hearth's Warming Tale and Stranger Than Fan Fiction were good)
You make a good point and have made my day 😁
I'm really happy to see someone else bring smart and not over pompous about that kind of thing. It's true others in the gospel can be horrible people. The last ward I was at, most of the people there were overly fake and actually rude, and downright disgusting in camp outs and activities.
She should’ve been a princess at the last season.
8 and 9 were the worst seasons !
What on earth is that humming sound during the video? 6:45
