Texturing Clothes in Substance Painter (BEGINNER TUTORIAL)

  • My first tutorial! I'm super nervous but I hope this can be helpful for someone out there that's looking to learn clothing texturing quick and easy! I waffle on abit and I find it hard to speak clearly sometimes, so sorry for that, but I'm hoping by making these videos I can get better at it!
    I'm open to suggestions and any improvements - this video is me mostly messing around and wanting to get my voice out there! I'm sure there's a bunch of other better tutorials but maybe this'll help someone, somewhere!

    love the tutorial! I have to texture a bunch of clothes for a project and the last tips with the piling fibers knots makes such a difference! like my wool punk beanie looks so much better with all these details! :D

    Hey Dan, I've seen other artists apply the textures of weaves onto their high poly mesh and then bake it into their low poly.
    But is it better to do everything in Substance Painter instead? I feel like there's a lot more flexibility with SP

      I always enjoy adding the weave in the highpoly! Though I can understand how useful it is to have it made in substance painter rather than in the highpoly. So to answer - it's whatever your most comfortable with! haha

    cant seem to use weave or flakes or anything black and white for my bitmap mask, is there something i need to turn on?
