    Just shows that with a little TLC and a small update to the motor these 30 year old locos still give so much pleasure and parts don't fall off on every circuit! Great stuff and wonderful to watch!

      Hi, thanks so much for watching and the kind comments. I enjoy repairing and restoring old Locos it keeps my old brain active.
      Lima have made some very well detailed Steam and Diesel Locos, I find the Diesels can be improved by adding detailing and getting them running much better by fitting 12V CD motors. I can now run them very smoothly and slowly which is my main goal. As you say bits dont fall off them and they are simple to service.
      All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏

    Wow 🤩 from no Deltics to two Deltics... that's great! The two shades of green livery is fantastic, probably my favourite. I'd really fancy a Deltic, but I should grow my layout then 😅😊 maybe a baby Deltic then, but I think they are more difficult to get. At the moment my eyesight is not yet ideal, so I can't do much on the trains... Have a nice Sunday evening! Erik

      @paulvozman842  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Erik, I was only looking for one then 2 came as part of the joblot of 4 so a real bargain. I also like the two tone green as it was a livery actually used. Sorry to hear your eyesight is still not ideal, I hope it improves soon. I hope you can get back to your trains and continue with self builds.
      All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏

    The Deltic's should have two exhausts Paul.Thats what makes them sound amazing. I prefer the two-tone green one to be honest. But they both look great running round. All the best.

      Hi Tim, I dont understand why the repainted Deltic only has one Exhaust?. They are both Lima made in Italy.. I also prefer the two tone green Deltic as it was a livery actually used. I repainted the BR Blue Deltic as it didnt fit in with my layouts period. They are nice smooth runners so very happy with them. Have a great week, Cheers Paul.👍👍🙏

    Hi Paul, That's a really good deal, especially going from none to 2. The two tone green does look very good as a livery, but the Yeomanry in green looks good too. Lima did some nice modelsnof the Deltics, along with Hornby Dublo. Steven

    • @paulvozman842
      @paulvozman842  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Steven, I came across a joblot of 4 Diesels and saw there were 2 Deltics, I was lucky to win the bid and get them very cheaply. The two tone green Deltic is a great prototypical livery and suits the design of the Loco perfectly. My green re-liveried Deltic is my personnel favorite though.
      Fitting 12v CD Motors has really improved the running of my Lima Diesels, I need to order some more and convert the few remaining Limas still on their ringfield motors. Its far too hot in my attic now so its back to the RC Boats in the pool and finish my Submarine repairs.
      All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏

Also got the Lima Fife and Foefar Yeomonry somewhere as well. I'll have to dig them out. Cheers mate. Steven.

      I am interested in seeing these two Locos and whether there are any comparisons to the body detailing. I am spending a lot of time outside at the moment and finally getting a swim in my pool. Its a chance to test the new systems in my Sub.

      I may have to try one of these motor changes out of 10 how hard is it to do? What specialist tools do you need ? I have a soldering iron etc.

    • @paulvozman842
      @paulvozman842  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MichaelDavies-pg8td Hi Michael, these 12V CD motor installations are really easy to do. My suggestion would be to watch OO Bill on TH-cam and follow his tutorials.
      There are many videos covering these installs but are basically the same proceedures.
      You will need a sharp hobby knife, small screwdrivers, Soldering Iron, fine wet and dry paper (for deburring the gears), oil or grease for the gears.
      You should receive 2 gears in the set as they need to be cut as per the instructions usually 4mm long. The spare gear is included if you make a mistake cutting the gear to length.
      I push out the bearing on the gear side to avoid the gear rubbing on it but many leave them in.
      You will need to choose which CD Motor to install as there are wider motors for Bo-Bo bogies and narrower CD Motors for Co-Co bogies like on the 37s.
      Its all down to you which motor to install, I prefer the Wider versions which may need the center axles either being removed or glued up to clear the tracks.
      Wiring is simple, sometimes the red wire connects to the motor or to the front bogie it depends whos CD conversion you buy.
      Test the direction of running before applying the heatshrink then its job done. 🪛⚙👍👍🙏
