So I took him to his first concert; Iron Maiden.... FRONT ROW!!!!! He got a Harris wrist band, a Smith wrist band and pick, and 2 Murray picks!!😊😊

Great song! Written about the Doomsday Clock which was set to 11:58 in 1958. Power Slave is an amazing album! but it had to be, coming off the heels of Piece Of Mind.. Been a fan of Maiden for years and I am truly enjoying these isolated vocal tracks even though I am not a singer. I always chuckle when I listen to Maiden because when I was in high school I had a friend that played guitar and we were talking one day and he was mentioning different scale types on the guitar (Blues, metal, etc.) and then he said, "Maiden though is different, they play on the Egyptian scale". Always has stuck with me, they are so technical and and tight in all of there songs. Thanks again for the insight and God bless!

Yes, long lines... Part of what I have done to get better at singing has been to walk at a good steady pace, control my breath, and sing. This is one is the songs that I have sung along to, and have sung since first hearing back in 1985 when I first got the Powerslave tape. It has been tough to get a handle of some of the lines, but now I can go through the whole song when I am walking, and not run out of breath! 😁

Neal Kay who was an important factor in the rise of the new wave of British heavy metal produced a few albums from one of my previous bands. Steve Harris is almost always wandering unnoticed here where I spend most of the time when I am in Europe (Hellgarve). Unfortunately I have not yet had the opportunity to meet him. He owned a bar called Eddie's Bar, but it closed when his longtime friend passed away and ran the business. You guys, You would love to know this, it looks a lot like California. After spending some time in the cold of Canada playing guitar, it always feels good to be back in the sun in this little corner of Europe.

I can't say I "like" Bruce's voice, the way you describe it as trying to start a car, that type of vibrato in his voice I just don't like for whatever reason but very cool and informative video. Your duet cover of this song is also insanely cool, Ken's parts are definitely exhausting even to listen too, you guys are true pro's.

The Chemical Wedding is some of his best work. Tyranny of Souls is phenomenal too. Slightly different and heavier than Maiden, but still excellent. But check out Tears of the Dragon if you want to hear some truly beautiful music. Last 2 Iron Maiden albums since his return are great as well.
The song is referencing the doomsday clock, which tell you how close we are to the end of the world. Either by global warming or nuclear disaster. In 1984 the bulletin atomic scientists said that because of the cold war we was on the blink of nuclear disaster and for that reason the doomsday clock 2 minutes to midnight. Saying that though it's not the only time it's been close. Recently it's been 100 seconds to midnight. We all just need to get along because live is to short for sacrifice.

I have an idea for a vocal analysis video of a vocalist that is really an opposite to Bruce Dickinson. I'm of course talking about Megadeth's Dave Mustaine who has his signature snarling style of vocals that doesn't sound really pleasant. From vocal analysis perspective it would be interesting, as his voice is unique and not really technical.
I beg to differ about the shirt thing... Maiden fans are mostly great people; bikers, lawyers, doctors, construction workers.... I dress nice when I go because there's lots of beautiful ladies 😉😉

Iron Maiden were fantastic song writers and this is my favorite Maiden song of all time. On the other hand, they did often have a lot of very long songs that seemed boring and repetitive to me.

A Matter of Life And Death - brilliant album! Progressive dark music and deep military-religious lyrics. The whole album is gorgeous. Bruce has a dramatic tenor, i guess... (lyric-dramatic in his youth), and therefore the timbre has become heavier over the years but keeping a metallic hue, which is great for such an album.
It's strange listening to the nuances in his voice that you don't necessarily hear with the band behind him. He is a very focused, motivated driven individual. It would be so interesting to know if that is genetic, learnt or a result of his experiences in his formative years. It's a characteristic worth it's weight

There’s a new band out called dirty honey, they’re from LA! First album dropped in 2019 and new album came out in April! Want to know what you think of them. “When I’m gone” is the big song from them! They’re sort of.. AC/DC meets Aerosmith meets Eric Clapton

I have an idea for a vocal analysis video of a vocalist that is really an opposite to Bruce Dickinson. I'm of course talking about Megadeth's Dave Mustaine who has his signature snarling style of vocals that doesn't sound really pleasant. From vocal analysis perspective it would be interesting, as his voice is unique and not really technical.

Iron Maiden were fantastic song writers and this is my favorite Maiden song of all time. On the other hand, they did often have a lot of very long songs that seemed boring and repetitive to me.

Bruce Dickinson I didn't know. This is a brand new band for me to study about.ive listened since I guess1978 knew only run to the hills I thought that song encompassed maidens
Meaning I guess. Bruce is a lyrical genius professor of the history? No one like him and will never be again like I said he's my next research subject. I now appreciate iron maiden as Bruce and as that fantastic band

A Matter of Life And Death - brilliant album! Progressive dark music and deep military-religious lyrics.
The whole album is gorgeous. Bruce has a dramatic tenor, i guess... (lyric-dramatic in his youth), and therefore the timbre has become heavier over the years but keeping a metallic hue, which is great for such an album.

It's strange listening to the nuances in his voice that you don't necessarily hear with the band behind him. He is a very focused, motivated driven individual. It would be so interesting to know if that is genetic, learnt or a result of his experiences in his formative years. It's a characteristic worth it's weight
