getting the potatoe out of the skin without destroying it, is a work of god. this lady must be a high witch. I simply spooned into cupcake foils,, and followed the recipe. awesome way to get people to enjoy sweet potatoes
@@cookingwithdog : I made it 1 or 2 days after I made that comment (September 1, 2021). I kept seeing sweet potatoes on sale in the supermarket (autumn is here). I made it EXACTLY as this recipe says (I even used aluminum foil as a base so the potatoes stayed flat in the oven). The potato skin was just right, and the filling was sweet and creamy but not too sweet. I cooked it until the filling turned a light golden brown on top. It was delicious. My family loved it. Thank you for a good recipe. (Thank you) I am an American living in Japan. I usually cook western food (things that my parents cooked for me) because that is what I already know how to cook. I love your videos because it shows me the right way to make Japanese food for my Japanese wife and family. They are always very surprised when I make Japanese food that tastes "right." I used to try sometimes, but the flavor was always a little wrong. Now my wife says my oyakodon "is better than at a restaurant." - We are honest with each other, (We've been married since before Cooking with Dog) if she didn't like it, she would tell me. Thank you for all the good recipes. I hope you are healthy and doing well. I know you don't make as many videos as you used to, but, if you are healthy, I hope you continue to make videos (it is always nice to see you AND the recipes are always very tasty). Best wishes! (I assume Mr.Producer will see this, but if you could also tell 'Chef' what I said, I would appreciate it. YOU have always done a great job too, using camera angles and editing that make it very easy for someone like me to understand the recipes. Thank you too, very much.) 宜しくお願いします。
i love cookingwithdog shows, it's so straight forward like they don't talk so much unlike some people and the show quality is good and their camera dosen't move so much unlike some other cooking show, and they teach us everystep and the narrator voice is very good and fine to me !!
Thank you for your comment. I added video annotations on the video to reduce the microwave time. I also updated the video description. Thank you for your feedback again.
Hi, Francis Wow, at last another great video. hehe... I always can learn some new cooking skills from your video. Your sweet potato looks very delicious. thank you... You are an amaging cook !!!!
I'm an Amercian and I think this looks delicious. Sweet potatoes are one of my favorite things to eat...I usually just wash them, poke them full of holes and cut off the ends, wrap them in tin foil and bake them, then eat with brown sugar or maybe butter. This looks extra tasty though...
HI, Thank you for showing it to us.. I won't go to Japanese cooking school after all.. I love sushi and many of their food and culture.. I appreciate this.. Thank you so much and I love your dog watching.. cute..
I'm making this recipe for the third time now. It's just delicious!!! Since we only have those orange sweet potatoes here, I just used them and it turned out quite well. The texture was completely different (too much liquid), but that did not affect the great taste. Try this recipe, it's totally worth it!
i've tried this in a restaurant a few months ago - which is why i thought to search for the recipe, it's really good! like a sweet potato custard mash.
I just go through making this, it was rather difficult but SO worth it! The inside was beautifully fluffy and deliciously sweet! Definitely worth a try for anyone curious enough! Just be sure to get the japanese sweet potato, that makes it much better than domestic american sweet potatoes
Thanks for this very funny video, I loved how the dog would sometimes be leaning to the side kind of. Good thing that propane flash didn't light it's fur :)
i made a savory version of this, substituting the cream with stock and adding a little bit of sesame oil and top it off with cheese. It was awesome!!!!!!
I love these videos and i just found 1 off the home page i'm a fan already (: the music is great it adds to the art behinde the dishes made because all of them always turn out so beautiful makes me want to apriciate the appearance of certain foods before i eat next time (:
oh my gosh, that's funny:D the Rate Me at the end, along with the whole microwave thing, the voice, the dog... dang I got a tickle out of this. But the food looks good... =)
I agree, not cool with heating plastic wrap even though some brands claim they're "microwave safe". Also I could see this being really good with demarara brown sugar instead of white. 5 stars though = ) Really impressed with these recipes
Last night my Japanese frds bring their hand made sweet potato cake to me. It was supppppper yummy. And this recipe looks so easy, I will try to do it by myself later XD
At about 0:50 I was thinking, "Wow, that's all there is to it? This I can do!" Then she kept on going. I should have known a master chef couldn't leave well enough alone XD
I really love this sweet potato dessert!! I usually buy them at Japanese grocery store in the burbs. They only make them in the winter tho. it would be great if i can make it by myself.. thx for the vdo!
Is it wrong to think of the people who went ahead and put the foil in the microwave...? ..... *tries not to laugh* Anyway, impressed as usual! I can't wait to try this myself!
I remember this was my first cooking with dog video a decade ago. It brings great memories ❤️
