New Malden is a charming little town, certainly pleasant to live in. There is everything you need!!. The streets and stores are pleasant and the people seem happy. I like the little black wriggling dog. Thank you Ami WW for this pleasant walk 😀😀😀😀😀
Thank you for uploading this video, much appreciated! I have during covid lockdown watched quite a few Korean dramas and food documentaries thus gained some insight into Korean culture which I love. I recently discovered that New Malden has a huge population of Korean families there and plan to visit soon hoping to try out an authentic meal there (rather than busy soho ) Your video has made me more determined to visit come this Summer! Any tips as to where I should go eat an authentic Korean meal with friends? (the bbq grill experience included ) Thank you once again 😊

If so sorry that happened to you and just want to know you did not do anything you are just filming in a public sidewalk and filming in the public sidewalk is not illegal you have the right to do that it a part of freedom of speech. So keep up the good work, keep doing what you love, and I would to visit in the UK someday.
Hello WW. How are you? Your video came in whilst mum and I were at the Folkestone classic car show on the seafront. We also visited the relatively new harbour arm and shops. Will watch your latest ASAP. Like others have commented here, I was not aware that London has a Korean area. Will watch this with great interest, especially as my other homeland of Vancouver has a large Asian population and many Asian neighborhoods and restaurants. Anyhow, hope you had a good long weekend.
@@WatchedWalker Hello WW. We did indeed have a good weekend, including at the Folkestone Oldtimers Classic Car Show, as well as a stroll to what's known as the Folkestone Harbour Arm and the harbour. It's actually changed quire a bit since I was last there. Even though it's near Canterbury, I had not been there for a while. I got lots of good photos of the area and the car show. Visited a nearby garden centre on the way home and interestingly, they were telling us they are getting ready to decorate for Christmas soon. It made me think if your many Christmas walking videos. Still haven't had the chance to view this latest video of yours but will do so soon. As of this coming Friday we are on the go for three days, with an event each day from Friday to Sunday! Anyhow, hope all is well with you and speak soon!
@ibs5080 That's good to hear, enjoy the upcoming trips. Talking of Christmas, I've seen the supermarkets already putting some stuff out, usually they wait until after halloween. Catch you soon.
Compared to most suburban high streets in the outer boroughs of London which once were bustling civic centres, New Malden seems to have held up well. It is very well presented. Albeit, it is mostly a high street of eateries but there are few signs of dilapidation in any way. I did not see much evidence of "Korea Town". Compared to inner London it looked very white-British, with only a few signs of Koreans who have made it their home too. (it seems this was filmed on Sunday, maybe different during the week). For folks who have lived there all their lives, they should be content it survived as a pleasantly laid out place. Many outer borough high streets are dingy, drug needles, cheap and nasty, or just barren and sad like e.g. nearby Tolworth.
I grew up here and went to the local school in the late 90's / early 2000's. Not much has changed. It's known as the Korean capital of *Europe* because it has the highest density of Koreans, but they mostly keep to themselves. The town has a nice clean energy, great vibe for families and the nearby schools are good. For a young person it can feel a little bit "boring", so we used to go down the road to Kingston Upon Thames for our entertainment.

Well, I never knew New Malden was the Korean epicentre of London see.

New Malden has Europe's largest Korean community.
I grew up here and went to the local school in the late 90's / early 2000's. Not much has changed. It's known as the Korean capital of *Europe* because it has the highest density of Koreans, but they mostly keep to themselves. Koreans have bought all the houses up.
I thought it was Korean just by looking at the thumbnail.
