    Eddings' game against the Eagles is the only NFL regular season game i've attended.

    I caught myself thinking a bit poorly of Eddings as I watched this but then I realized that I would cry to even step out on that field to play a game in the NFL. I'm glad that even for a week, Eddings must have felt like THE MAN. Even though his career was short lived, that's something that I'll never get to experience and that brings a smile to my face because rarely does the average NFL player stand out at all.

    Cardinals had a similar player in the mid 90's named LeShon Johnson. He gained 214 yards against the Saints in 1996 but otherwise never has a 100 yard game and his career total was a little over 700 yards. Then, of course, there was Timmy Smith. 204 yards in the Super Bowl and was basically never heard from again.

    There would have been a huge rush at the fantasy waiver wire for Eddings after his game against Philadelphia...

    The wide receivers on the 1982 Giants should have been practicing holding their hands sideways in front of their faces, as they had a bad habit of getting poked in the eye. I guess they weren't huge fans of the Three Stooges.

    You know your NFL career is pretty uneventful when one of the highlights JaguarGator9 uses is a catch and run that was called back for a penalty (at 11:17)

    5:40 to 6:00 20 seconds of unreal tackling #28 for Washington literally does his best Superman impression on the Giants receiver 😳

      I remember Pisarcik. I was just a little kid then, and not even a NY Giants fan, but thought 'Off-Broadway Joe' wasn't all bad....but it sounds like your memory of the Giants is way better than mine.

      The '82 Giants had some solid offensive players: Butch Woolfolk, Rob Carpenter, Earnest Gray, Leon Bright. And Brunner was 16th among qualified NFL QBs with 73.9 rating. Not great, but Jim Plunkett was 14th with 77.0 rating. Of course he had Marcus Allen.

    If you're gonna be a one game wonder, be Timmy Smith or Larry Brown.

    • @MatthewChristianMurray
      @MatthewChristianMurray 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Eh, Larry Brown was a competent starter for several seasons before his Super Bowl performance.
      Smith was an unknown before his big game, but he did start most of the next season.
      David Tyree was a Pro Bowl special-teamer before the Helmet Catch.
      You want a true one-game wonder? How about Percy Howard?

      I'm not a cowboy fan but I can tell you don't know football because Larry Brown was a starting quarterback on the 92, 93, 94 and 95 Dallas Cowboys.
      So he wasn't a one-hit wonder because he actually was a starter unlike Timmy Smith 🤦🏿

    This was an interesting season for the Giants. Floyd Eddings did well the first time he touched the ball, while Fullback Leon Perry fumbled the last time he touched the ball, and the Falcons returned it for a touchdown. This unofficial Official Jaguar Gator 9 historian will remind everyone you made a video about Perry’s fumble.
    Also, why was there a two-year gap in Eddings’ Cal career?
