- DG3YEV self-build 2m solid state amateur radio power amplifier 1000W using MRF6VP11KH.
Some details: Cheap compared to commercial solutions. (~500 Euro total cost for parts. Many parts bought second hand) Very high efficency. About 75% at 1kW output. Single Power Supply 50V 30A max. All other needed operating voltages internally generated. I use old modified GSM base station power supplies (Telepower TPS 5500). Simple 7 pole Chebichev LP filter, made of surplus PTFE and copper plates.
The complete PA control/protection circuit is computer controlled. P out, P reflected, SWR calculated out of these values, Input current, supply voltage, temperature, fan control, LCD display and sequencing, all done by a 14MHz clocked 8 Bit Atmel megaAVR microcontroller. Power off time on failure ~20ms. This circuit saved the LDMOS FET's live a few times HI.
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit man. I wish I could do 1000 watts on 2 meters holy fuck.
Very Nice !.
What Amplifier board are you using ?.

Beautiful Work Tobias, I am just building one myself at the moment well done!
hello I would be interested in your control systems and management of your display sspa if possible thank you in advance f5mag
it seems great.
noisy enough to grind coffee
Hi, Can you build one for me? Send me an e-mail. Thank you. PY1LO
