I had read the transmission lines are bolted down on the front cross member, And that you can unbolt that to get more wiggle room for the transmission lines. Mine still has the cat tube that runs down by the transmission lines that looks like has been removed on your car. I'll have to play around with it to see how to get mine out.

Usually I'll get it up as high as I can depending on the jack stands and jack. Most the time it's 4 points on the jack stand, (the triangles that catch on the stands).

I own a 1990 Could convertertable the quest is have you ever heard of an oil right above the starter? New oil pressure switch and oil sending unit. New valve cover gaskets and it only leaks above the starter.
That's a new one for me. I'm would start with athe oil pan gasket, intake gasket, valve cover gaskets (which you did), possibly the dipstick tube. But really the best thing to do would be to clean everything up the best you can. Then check everything over again after a drive or two. Hopefully then the leak would be more visible.
I've got leaks on my Vette. But I don't plan to fix them until I freshen the motor up. All in one kinda deal.

That oil is from the oil dipstick seal
Starter on the drivers side?
It's on the Passenger side
What brand starter did you use? And is it a rebuilt or brand new unit?
I don't remember the brand, but it was brand new. This was a friends Corvette. She ordered the part and asked me to help put it on.

You won't have to line up the teeth, just plug in and start. It'll align the teeth itself as it moves the gear into alignment with the flywheel
