- You can use a simple rubber band, cassette player belt, or even a women's hairband. They all work great, and the more flexible the band the lesser vibration will transfer to the Mic.
Thank you so much for doing this video. I don't know why it was so confusing to me - you made it make sense. 🙂
You are so welcome!
Honestly, this helped me out so much. I was getting into voice audio books and as a total newbie, I guess I was trying to optimize my set up and somehow these belts came off. I couldn't get a straight mic and the mic rattled when there was minimal movement. After watching this and some patience on my end, I was able to bring this baby back to life. You've struck life back into a fire. Thank you

Thank you, I had just a typical USB streamer mic and these instructions really helped me.... Thank you for the simple but informative information.... Just a side note, I think these type of suspension mic holders are "Way over the top" for most applications.... I never saw these on the Beatles recordings or on other mics but Neumann mics in the 80s and 90s,
I think it is more important to isolate the mic stand in the studio, or put a carpet underneath... For your typical streaming, you-tuber, this is so much over the top.... Just a simple clamp
which these all have, but with out all the "Strings attached".... is the way to go.... Thanks again, subscribed....
Thanks for your subscription. I agree this is the ultimate solution for isolation from exterior vibrations. Even in advanced recording studios they use these types.
thank you very much! ive been putting it off for a long time and finally was tired of the microphone just sitting in the holder lol
You are very welcome!
Hi thanks for the vid.
How about when the mount in the middle is separated from the ring? I have the exact same mount but those two parts are separated, not sure how to fix
You are very welcome. Here is a link where you can see how the bands are installed www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PSM1--rode-psm1-microphone-shock-mount?
Thank you. Using a hairband to replace the worn out band worked.
Excellent!
Try pony-tail hair ties from the supermarket, cheap and easily sourced. Can be a little tight in large cradles.
If storing a cradle for lengthy period it ts always a good idea to partially dismantle to relieve tension, or the bands will lose elasticity.
That is an excellent idea, thank you!
Hi, thanks, but is there an alternative to this like a large mic holder normally used on sm58? I find that the elastic belts do not secure the mic. thanks
You are very welcome!
Great ! Easy to follow !
Glad to hear that!
finally, thank you

@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 I'm back here again after cleaning my entire setup 😂😂
@@NH-65 Welcome back my friend 🙂
thanks guys i happy for your tutorial segui asi amigo
You're welcome!
Will you start using the TZ again?
No, because it picks up a lot of computer Fan Noise. I have a very powerful PC and although I have the quietest fan there is, it is still too noisy for a quiet room. The Shotgun microphone is a directional mic, and it cancels out the side noises.
Thank you so much, this was very useful!
You're very welcome!
I thought that you were using the tz, but no, what microphone are you using in this video?
I have been using the Audio-Technica Condenser Shotgun Microphone Model AT897 for the past 6 months now.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 nice, cuz you just made a video on that TZ!
Why dont I see it?
@@m.d.taverner616 The shotgun microphone is above my head pointing to my mount from about 15 inches away, and it's intentionally hidden from the camera's view.
