    The problem is that the pattern is not the same as the production pattern, it is just for show, then the design dept has to do the pattern again for production? It is double the work???

    Hey Fashion Tech, Awesome vid! I have a quick question, once I finish modelling my garment, I wanted to make a cool animation that shows the hoody going from almost flat floating 2D patterns to then being attracted all at once to drape over the avatar. Sort of like a exploded construction animation, how can I achieve this result on CLO? Many thanks!

    • @TheFashionTech
      @TheFashionTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Believe it or not this is in development stage for CLO right now! But for now there are other programs like key shot and Blender... but it will be released in CLO soon

    • @GEORGE.M.M
      @GEORGE.M.M 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheFashionTech Thank you for the speedy reply! I managed to achieve the above purely in CLO, maybe I didn't explain properly. but it was pretty simple, you kind of have to play around with the distance each piece is from one another. Last time I check Keyshot I doesn't import animations, and I think you're alluding to moving fabric pieces from their original position to a desired exploded position and having the program animate the in between steps. I was after more of a cloth simulating together from floating pieces, which I managed to achieve, now I am exporting to render as alembic for C4D.

    Hello, thanks for the video, I will be using this program soon and just wondering how accurate is the look you get on the avatar? The back waist balance would not look like that once you close the dart as its not been balanced ? Or does the avatar look 'tweaked' ? thanks

    • @TheFashionTech
      @TheFashionTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The software is not kind to darts. being an early video I have since learned that a pattern can have a perfect balanced dart. It will usually make a pucker at the point of the dart. So i "used to" make my darts long to avoid the point. This video is less about accurate patterns then it is how to complete a outfit/garment.

      If you can backspace while applying the stitch it will go back a point.. zoom in on the dart and reduce the extra points... if you can use the N segment and not free sewing

    Did this garment actually go into production? I see a lot of issues here. The darts especially in the back are too huge, no truing of seams, no curvature to the body. The skirt should have been tapered. I couldn't believe the amount of effort for the zipper. Half inch seam allowance is sufficient, all the pattern would need is a nifty little notch for placement. What's going on in the back bodice closure? A dramatic keyhole would work but it remains unclear here. The sample maker might throw it back at you.

      Amy!! This was my first video ever 🤣🤩 thank you for your critical comments it’s by no means a production ready garment. The video is a showcase on how I was able to achieve a visual representation. It was a novice experience. So you are more then welcome to watch the pattern making series or watch me make a block on this channel. But by no means am I trying to pass this video off as ready for production but you already know this 🤓🤣🤓🤣🤓 take it easy there are a lot of beginners who watch this video to see where it starts and I hope people get encouraged to practice 💗💗💗

      @@TheFashionTech Hey Fashion Tech!! No worries! The graphic interface is fantastic and you did an excellent job of rendering. I'm questioning the software. As you might tell, I'm an old pattern maker over here, spilled blood with a lot of nasty paper cuts from the yellow board we'd cut patterns on to go into production. In fact I'm investigating what software I should play with just for kicks and giggles, that's how I found your video.
