Recently discovered EPN - brilliant time spent with Sam, always a pleasure to hear him talk through the lore and the work. Also love Sam bringing the Atari T-shirt each time he dials in with you. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love these dudes. True Star Wars sweaties. David’s Star Wars oxygen podcasts are so freaking good. And I could listen to Sam talk Star Wars all day. Great podcast Vic.
This is the Star Wars content for true fans who truly get it. So lucky to have found this podcast and interview. Had my son listen to Sam speak on Omega. Wow! Just wow!
I started watching Star Wars a couple months ago. I’ve watched everything once and those storm trooper conversations were one of my favorite parts of the franchise 😂😂😂 I didn’t know Sam was behind it lmao
What a great podcast. I loved everything David Collins and Sam Witwer had to say about the creation of the clone wars and the mandalorian, and them talking about all the behind the scenes and all the small easter eggs and detail they put into the shows. It really makes you appreciate the effort that goes into the creation of all of Star Wars, even if you don't like the direction or story decisions of the movies/shows.
And also, I don't know this Victor Lucas guy, but he did a great interview and asked some great questions while also letting David and Sam have the room to explain everything without interrupting. Great watch, thanks for everything guys!
@@theintunity Vic is the OG, the first game journalist to interview developers on tv in N America. Check out his channel for previous equally awesome Sam Witwer chats.
AWESOME chat. It's so great to have these dudes geek out about the stuff that gets us going too - and they get to make it! BTW, fantastic edit at around 13:30, Vic. Bringing in the warehouse footage as Sam's going in to that question. That's the quality filmmaking magic I show up for.
Seriously one of the best interviews with amazing SW creators and fans. Also, I might add, what a profound way to explain just how incredible SW messages can be to human kind.
I seriously wish more Star Wars fans would listen to the stuff that Sam Witwer has to say. He knows Star Wars like no one else, and if more people took his mindset, there would be a lot less angry Star Wars fans out there and a whole lot more positivity
Sams talk about the evolution of the clone wars show is so true like from the first season too Anikan and Ahsoka's last meeting is insanely matured and even how the last few episodes are directed.
What a treat this podcast is indeed! I couldn't help but adore your description under the video, like WOW what a listing: "...to talk about all things Star Wars, including The Bad Batch, Republic Commando, The Force Unleashed, The Clone Wars, the original trilogy, The Mandalorian, Dave Filoni, George Lucas and so much more!" Literally ALL topics I know and love A LOT and can't wait to know a LOOOT more about! Thank you for doing all this, Vic!! 😄🙏🙏
Freakin sweet man. I think Star wars missed a huge opportunity making a Force Unleashed movie starring Sam Witwer. Would’ve been amazing seeing that play out on the big screen. Would’ve been much more interesting than that new half-baked trilogy that we got.
What Sam said is what real, Spiritual teacher's say. That you won't reach enlightenment unless ye become as little children again. If you don't let the world beat ya down, hurt + trauma eventually becomes wisdom or wise innocence! Star Wars is great for that + these guys inhabit it. They bring up so many good points that you could comment endlessly about it. But that one in particular is a strong message for this mess-age we're in!
BTW, any chance to ask Sam Witwer and David Collins a question in the next podcast ? I want to know that Why the PSP version of Unleashed 2 was cancelled few months before the release.(Because there is no sources on "why it was cancelled".)
4:30 We actually don't know for sure if Howzer did commit Order 66. We only ever see him with Cham Syndulla, who's not a Jedi, so my theory is that Howzer never got the order since he was never with a Jedi during that time. His chip probably still works, but Sidious never gave the order to him to activate it since there was no Jedi around him at the time to be executed, is my guess! 🥺🥶
Vic, I'd love to hear Sam's views on how he deals with stories in SW he just doesn't agree with. Headcanon? See them as alternate reality, or hazy? Honestly, I feel compelled to do so myself with some of the choices in the ST. FWIW, while TLJ was the turning point, it seems like TFA really laid the seeds already. Wipe away Leia and Luke's life work to tell the same story again. Death Star III, but better than the death star. Rey is Luke but more Luke than Luke, and so on. Just to tell the same story, pretty much. It's pretty heartbreaking for those of us who are invested in the heroes. BTW, just subscribed. Great stuff!!!
Sam Witwer already explained why Maul's return needed some exposition in that timestamp you posted. It's good that they worked hard on that little piece because part of their job is telling a quality story lol. I fully understand that not everything needs an explanation, that sometimes "less is more" but in the specific and controversial case of Spider Maul, derived from a highly beloved and fan favorite character in The Phantom Menace, who was once thought to have been "killed" off, he fully deserved an explanation and his comeback was really good as a result. It would've felt too ridiculous if he just simply "somehow returned." Rather, him stating that it was because of his anger and rage that fueled him to survival, like what pretty much all other Sith and Dark side users relied upon, it made perfect sense and helped the audience further understand. He needed to go through that journey of revitalization, to regain some somewhat normal looking legs after going through all that turmoil in that junkyard planet with the spider legs he conjured up from spare parts and pieces of scrap. It was fascinating and enlightening and creepy even. The perfect recipe for the comeback of an equally fascinating and creepy character that literally looks like the Devil himself, haha.
@@Vandicoup Yes I completely agree. I was just being sarcastic about The Last Jedi where I wished they done more like TCW Maul, explaining why he came back. I agree with you and Sam that coming up with an interesting back story is mandatory if you bring back a character who is supposed to be dead for long. I loved the madness/spider Maul’s story
I hope at very least Lucasfilm makes a remaster of The Force Unleashed games.(The 2nd game on PC didn't got the Endor DLC and I would like to be able to aim the objects that I want to grip with mouse)
I wish we got a Force Unleashed remaster…..anything Force Unleashed would be welcoming, but it seems like that amazing franchise is dead. Pre-Disney had the greatest Star Wars stories in my opinion. I would lose my mind if we got a 3rd one on next gen consoles.
I'm just sad that the institutional knowledge and passion for Star Wars at Lucasfilm is being wasted on garbage content because the relatively few people in charge don't get it.
If by "especially in a Pandemic" line you mean, talk to your doctor and stop trying to force people to take an experiment that could harm you, then I agree.
OMG, the T-16 easter egg is my FAVORITE thing about the newer movies. It's so great that it's these guys.
Sam Witwer the philosopher, and I'm here for all of it! Great interview!
Love all these interviews with Sam Witwer , Victor he is so amazing and a great actor / voice actor and David W. Collins he's a awesome guy !!!

@@wrathless7498 Oh I checked his stuff out right after this podcast. Some of his content is pretty damn interesting
100% agreed. I would pay for a podcast series of just David and Sam talking Star Wars.
Can listen to Sam Witwer and Dave Collins talk Star Wars ALL DAY!!

Why is this only 2.5k views?
What a great podcast. Easy to listen to, good sound quality, well directed, etc. Awesome!
Great discussion here. Love to hear that the passion is still alive from both the fans and the artists at Lucasfilm.
THIS IS AWESOME. thank you Vic! Nice to see Sam back here too , and Dave
