I get the refs need to keep some control over the game but i really don't like that every player that drops the gloves after the first fight gets ejected is stupid af especially when there's multiple fights at the same time particularly at drop of the puck..

The league could make an argument about the Trouba and Miller fights. Those clearly started after the other three.
But the Vesey, Goodrow, and Rempe fights? They were all at the same time. All those players were not watching each other. They all dropped their gloves, ready to fight on the face off. That was ridiculous.

3:59 Somebody please expand on what he's saying here about waiting for puck drop. Fighting "illegal" regardless. Is the penalty more severe if foghting happens outside of play?
If you wait for after the face-off (when the puck lands) it's a 5 min major (normal penalty) however if you do it before, it's basically fighting before the game even starts so it would have a more severe punishment (suspension or fine, i actually don't fully know what would happen) it's like waiting for the bell to ring before a fight. I hope that helps explain a little bit, it's kinda what I got from that, I think they were just slightly early when it happened.
@RyuuTheDragon What about in the moddle of a game? I've seen guys wait for the drop and it wasn't the first face-off of the game. It must be the same. What a weird thing.
@bigposts6673 I guess maybe it's just an unspoken rule of fighting? Or it could be the same, the face off is what continues the game after every whistle. Good question actually, now I'm gonna go research and see if there is a reason for it
I used to love to watch hockey. Haven't been able to for yrs but what's happened to the rules!! It used to be banging into a opposite player foul was called!! No fighting or you'd be kicked off!! What's happened to team respect and respect!! So much violence now when the world is enough. It's baffling. It shouldn't be accepted or expected!! Goodness. It reminds me of the days of wrestling. All set up show!! It's been kicked out!! I'll probably get a bunch of flack but it's not good show manship!!

They lucky I aint the commissioner of hockey bc time u get into fight first time you'd be suspended for 25 games second time you get into a fight will be 50 games third time you get into a fight you're gone for the season that includes the playoffs and if u don't like that rule then u take it up with players association bc it's will be a new day in hockey if u want to box then u become a boxer not a hockey player

Yes, sir. I agree. Today's hockey is horrible with how they make calls. The game today is vastly different than the game I grew up playing.
