Watched that first scene a bunch of times and My guess is that it switches to a car mounted jib just as it passes through the last set of buildings as it goes down to street level….
00:25 that's not a drone movement, no way it slows down that fast unnoticed without cam on a gimbal, that's where the stealthy cut happened and it became handheld. Also the white BMW 10 seconds ago in the clip is entirely CG
I jus wanna see how they rigged the FPV to Gimbal/Steadicam transition, that was smooth. Guessing a lot of stabilization as well in post. Really dope shot. Did you have an Anamorphic lens on the camera?
They are at least two separate shots joined together. Note the sun position in initial shot… guessing late afternoon, sun behind drone. The Rock’s car pull’s up at Castel Sant'Angelo in full shadow (this is where the transition occurs), then he opens his door, sun is suddenly on door, and shining on his head from a different position, guessing late morning. Also note, in the initial drone shot, there should be no shadow where the Rock’s car pulls up. The sun is behind the drone - this area should be in full sun. So they’ve imposed a shadow here to prepare for the transition. There are usually bollards at the end of the St. Angelo Bridge. Two look removable, but none are in the shot, so who knows what other visual trickery is happening in this shot.
I saw the first Rome shot and immediately thought of you...and then I saw your post and realized it WAS you! Incredible stuff that added so much to the story. Hopefully the first of many!
Ha! That's so funny, I watched this last night and that opening scene I was like "that's an FPV drone". But to hold steady when he got out the car and follow them, that was huge man. Congrats
I thought the same, but I even thought: that shot is in the style of johnnyfpv, and now there's the proof, I was right 😃 I mean he did commercials for Porsche, Mercedes and Coca Cola,... Then Hollywood isn't that far 🤷🏻♂️
Just started this movie and stopped only 26 seconds in just to google and see if this was you. Lo and behold i find this youtube clip. You are the GOAT. Brilliant work!
Drone shots stand out a mile to me, everytime I see them in films, I'm like, drone shot, another drone shot! This time it was you!! Fricking amazing dude!!! 🔥🔥🔥💪
I literally watched this movie yesterday and was thinking that several shots looked exactly like fpv shots!! Amazing you got to participate in this!: )
The Drone camera shots were amazing! I knew the beginning was a Drone but the cars racing to the museum is what caught me. There were so many scenes we went back to just to watch the shots! I'd never seen such film artistry before. GREAT JOB! This guy definitely has a niche.
awesome it looks like cinematographers have understood what fpv can do, from helicopter shot to chase car to boom establishing shot right into dolly shot close up, all in one shot.
My Golly!!! Last week when I saw the movie I noticed all the drone shots through out the movie and never in my mind I will have thought that the pilot was Johnny, even though I knew very few pilots can make this shots happen. Very much Respect!!!👏🏼🦾🙏🏼
Damn Johnny you really made it.. I feel so lazy.. I fly camera drones like you, but I didn't have the ambition like you.. Thanks for being the first and badass FPV drone camera pilot on youtube.. GRATZ.. Hopefully I can get there with ya.. Congratulations..
I knew it! - the first shot was sooo familliar... :-) ,at the begining when you dive to the street i was thinking "where i saw something like this... those drone movements and flying style is know to me" - as allways good work and congratulation to this achievement!
I was wondering you shot the fpv of this movie !!! Now I realised it was the GOAT himself in this !!! Also congrats !! Really love your work so much !! You are an inspiration 😍
I was watching this film today and thought… ‘Those are FPV shots mixed in with CGI’ and they look stunning!
Now you know why
I had the same reaction to that opening shot - I want to know more about where the FPV shot ends and the comp begins into the dialogue scene..
@@ebourcier I NEED to know!
x2
Watched that first scene a bunch of times and My guess is that it switches to a car mounted jib just as it passes through the last set of buildings as it goes down to street level….
Brutal. Stopping the drone in the face of The Rock after such a run is the most. Wanna see the making of.
Pretty sure there was a transition to a ground camera before thrn.
00:25 that's not a drone movement, no way it slows down that fast unnoticed without cam on a gimbal, that's where the stealthy cut happened and it became handheld. Also the white BMW 10 seconds ago in the clip is entirely CG
Maybe they took the drone in their hand.
Definitely a switcheroo
The third car is cgi, there is a hidden cut from the drone to the steady cam
Absolutely stunning….. I have no words 🙏
I’m glad you are the chosen to represent the drone community in the huge productions.
Respect!
200%
no way! You worked on this? thats sick!
is this cgi cars?
@@PunxTV123 first one was 100% cg
So now Johnny FPV's magic has reached high budget Hollywood cinema,
Proud of this man 💗
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
They are Lucky they got Johnny to help them
@@kongkjetil true, Johnny has skills that are unmatchable
When I watched the movie I thought the opening scene could not be continous! Amazing skill man!I salute you!
Dude I was wondering which FPV pilot got those shots. SO SICK THAT WAS YOU!!! Congrats man
That’s insane. From flying in a backyard to flying around the Rock. Honored to have been able to follow your career progression from the start.
As a FPV Pilot myself, when I watched this movie on Netflix, I was stunned by the first scene - absolutely great and impressive work!!
When I watched this, I had no idea it was you. Congrats! It's soooo awesome!
No way dude haha good to see you on here mate
I watched this movie the other night and was amazed by the awesome fpv shots!
Congrats dude! What awesome shots. That first one is insane, I wanna see a bts
These FPV shots are EPIC, love how they are blended seamlessly into the gimbal shots.
Grazie Johnny,
A fpv pilot from Rome.
These are the moments where I was like “this movies gonna be good” and then all just stopped happening. Props for being this movies saving grace!
No way! While watching the movie I was thinking to myself that these sequences had JohnnyFPV all over it! Little did I know... Congrats!!!
wtf you did this? I was telling my gf how sick those drone shots were. Great job
Exactly. Mine was even annoyed due to how many times I had to rewind to see those shots.
Same, lol!
Congrats Johnny, that is so awesome! Glad to have you repping FPV!!
The transitions between FPV and normal are fantastic
I was watching this movie the whole time hyped about the FPV shots, I should have known you shot these by how smooth these shots were
I knew as soon as I saw that opening scene across the bridge... "This is FPV and I bet Johnny is at the sticks".
Well done mate! looked incredible!
I jus wanna see how they rigged the FPV to Gimbal/Steadicam transition, that was smooth. Guessing a lot of stabilization as well in post. Really dope shot. Did you have an Anamorphic lens on the camera?
Same

They didn't. The actor shot transitions to greenscreen.
There's a lot of VFX that went into that shot. You can check it out in ILM's VFX breakdown/BTS for the film
I thought it was poorly don’t I could tell where it transitioned because of the slight skip when the rock is standing next to the car.
Dont you just love it when your watching a movie and then your just like, "YO THOSE ARE FPV SHOTS"
You made it.Finally, Johnny FPV in Hollywood movies 🔥❤️👍
I saw the first Rome shot and immediately thought of you...and then I saw your post and realized it WAS you! Incredible stuff that added so much to the story. Hopefully the first of many!
Ha! That's so funny, I watched this last night and that opening scene I was like "that's an FPV drone". But to hold steady when he got out the car and follow them, that was huge man. Congrats
Me too!
That was made possible by great flying and a drone to hand held transition, plus some VFX involved. Came out seamless. Amazing job by all involved.
The scene where we follow Ryan and a cop up scaffolding? I thought to myself, "how many buttcheeks were harmed in the making of this film?!" lol
I thought the same, but I even thought: that shot is in the style of johnnyfpv, and now there's the proof, I was right 😃 I mean he did commercials for Porsche, Mercedes and Coca Cola,... Then Hollywood isn't that far 🤷🏻♂️
no way!!! awsome shots bro ! so now, You are PRO fpv pilot oficiall !
Thinking that the first scene is entirely recording by an FPV drone is absolutely insane!
From flying in the backyard to flying for Hollywood. Johnny has come a long way.
Rome was amazing!
WOOOOOW you made that SHOT! I KNEW IT! I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!
I had a feeling that it was you behind the controller when I saw that Taycan!
