My personal AX ship of choice mostly for it's straightline speed and weapon layout, it could benefit from a larger power distro. It doesn't turn super fast but its great for hit and run, like any bomber should be.

    Very helpful analysis, thank you.
One ship I'm particularly curious about is the Krait Phantom. Only four hardpoints, but running faster and cooler than the Krait Mk2, with slightly more hull hardness, it seems like it would be viable in solo or AXCZ combat, though the lack of flax or a thermal vent beam laser might be challenging.

The Phantom was popular among some of our top pilots years ago (Maligno and Aran primarily). Nowadays it is harder to recommend it because of how aggro changed after Update 17 (you need a beam to keep aggro in solo fights). But it’s a very capable ship!

I'm out of AX for a while as I'm waiting on new computer parts, so it's good to see some ship comparisons in the meantime!

After using this ship for a long time at AXCZ, I can say this: the ship is very interesting, but at the same time it suffers greatly due to its fragility. Also, from my point of view, this ship is almost ideal against small Targoid scouts, due to the fact that it is capable of carrying 4 3-dimensional multicannons, an excellent cover for other ships designed to fight interceptors

I’d love to see the other Alliance ships looked at in this series. We know the Chieftain is the meta for solo but how to the Challenger and Crusader hold up in AX combat?

Speed and damage is the name of the game. It has both. It lacks optional internals. The next titan we'll blow up im gonna try 1 fixed large axmc, 1 large pre engineered ax missile rack and 2 large shards with a beam laser and nanitetorp.
Idea being consistent damage on core in team or in open. I was clogging 8 vents in krait mk2. Python mk2 is faster with more dmg. When are we raijin the bar?

I have to say that I found it the Python Mk2 a most ineffective and inefficient ship, it’s pretty but that’s all. I dislike it so must that I have stripped it and mothballed it. I’d sell it but I paid for it, am extremely disappointed with it.

@@garethde-witt6433 Yeah It becomes good after some extreme engineering. And a combat focused shield tank only.

without engineering, I guess only frag cannons are viable
