Christians are called to imitate Christ. Christ humbled Himself and was water baptized by John. Immediately after, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him. This is the Divine pattern we are to follow.
Why is this so difficult for many to grasp today?
Three possibilities: The world, the flesh and the devil.

These lessons are most definitely spirit led.
Additional: Modern science teaches us that water can store and transmit information (data). 1 John 5:7 teaches how God uses that information.

In the genealogy in the book of Luke Jesus was physically baptized in water. That’s when the holy spirit descended upon him

Doesn’t matter if there’s a division amount Christian. Why do you think there’s 10, 20 church in 1 city. As long as what we believe lead to 1 source and that’s Jesus Christ, none of you can say the other Christian is wrong. The faith alone, catholic and orthodox all talk about repent and believe in Jesus and the only thing we still argue about baptism, church, and doing good.

The water doesn't save you. The water is dubious even in baptism. The holy Spirit saves you. Your do smart Sam and then your conclusion is completely illogical. You even say it's symbolic, and then say the water baptism saved you. No it's stumbling of the holy Spirit saving you. Baptism didn't save Jesus. The third wasn't saved by baptism he want even baptized but he did receive the spirit that saved him. The unic was saved them was baptized. Water is symbolic and powerless. The spirit is real and the power that saves you.

      "Belief Alone"
Many use Romans 10:9 to claim that baptism is unnecessary and all person needs to do is "just believe" to be saved. Here, Paul is addressing the problem of the Israelites' unbelief that Jesus was the Christ. Later in the passage Paul says that
"everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13). This is done at baptism (Acts 22:16).
      "The Thief on the Cross"
The thief on the cross next to Jesus was not baptized. Some think this diminishes the importance of baptism because Jesus promised him entrance into paradise (Luke 23:43).
While on earth Jesus expressed his power to forgive sins (Matthew 9:2-6). After the cross, baptism is the way to share in his death, burial and resurrection and so be saved (Romans
6:2-4). This is the promise and plan for all whom God now calls (Acts 2:39).

      "Baptism is a Work"
The central role of faith in conversion is clear. Baptism is never characterized in the Bible as a "work." Colossians 2:12 teaches we are saved by faith in the working of God at baptism. I Peter 3:21 says that baptism saves through the
"pledge of a good conscience", which is also an expression of faith.
"Baptism is an outward sign of an inward grace"
This description is used to explain that baptism is something that can be done after one is already saved. It is not found in the Bible. Romans 6:2-4 states that baptism is an actual participation in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, not merely a sign or symbol. If baptism is when one is born again (John 3:5) and when sins are forgiven (Acts 2:38, 22:16) then it is the point of salvation. This is part of the message that should be accepted by one being baptized (Acts 2:41).

Remember brother, the spirit descended upon him in bodily form. The Bible clearly says, and if we are the body of Christ, the body of believers, the church must be born again to see the kingdom of God that is the church for faith alone will not get you into the kingdom, even Jesus was baptized, and it was a commandment given by the Lord to baptize who are we to reject that commandment for no one will see the kingdom of God unless he is born again

So, you don't have to be water baptized to be saved any more that you need to build an ark and get in it, to be in Jesus. You believe in Jesus and repent from sin in your heart and then the holy Spirit fills you as a seal and you get baptized to symbolize and declare what has happened just like when you sign a paper and Congress a commitment in front of witnesses when you Marry. The commitment marries you the paper and the witnesses attest to it and give it back. Same with water baptism. Your repentance and confidence and filling with the spirit save you. The water gives it a backbone and concrete's it in your mind and to society. It's actually just plain water. The spirit is way causes you to have a new clean heart that loves righteousness, but the water. Water cleans your body. Sprit cleans your soul Wich actually is still sinful. The spirit puts a seal on it until the day you are actually made clean upon death of the body.

Sam, you’re teaching and Bible study are amazing. But your reverence for the Roman Catholic Church is distressing because it’s blind to the heresy within it and by trying to “call out “protestant errors, you create division where there shouldn’t be any ( because many of the things you’re pointing out are not universal protestant beliefs). PLUS, you do that without pointing out the significant profound and foundational errors in Roman Catholic doctrine.
If your goal is to truly open eyes and teach… Then you need to start presenting a balanced view, so that people don’t align themselves with a denomination, and they simply look to the word read and build a relationship with Jesus.
The church is true believers coming together to worship, Support, learn and live together .

Council of trent, adding to the scriptures through pontifical proclamation. Prayers to the saints when Jesus is the only mediator...etc.. selling of indulgences which morphed into confessionals using priest as mediator, basically, taking authority of Christ and handing it over to the vatican. Current pope is really evil as were most popes. Man is corrupt, man, instead of christ as the head of the church corrupts the church.@MLGboii

I have to agree with you. There is horrific great in the Catholic Church, and yet this skilled and obviously saved Christian full of wisdom, is leaving the Protestant church and considering becoming Catholic. He knows all this correct and in depth history of the church and it's walking over the horrific heresies and history of Roman Catholicism. I will continue to listen to Sam as he has great knowledge and skills with the scriptures and with apologetics and dealing with the very dangerous Islamic faith. But I would never regret anyone else to listen to him least they be persuaded by his scriptural skills to also join an apostate church. I am glad to have found Sam. He has helped me grow. I will not show my daughter this man. I guess no one is perfect. But it does confirm my belief that while the Catholic Church is not Christian there are believers in it and they need to come out if it. I believe Sam is a true Christian. I also think he could work on his attitude a bit. But it does make him strong enough to deal with Muslims. But I think Sam struggles with a bit of arrogance. But don't we all. The more we know the more we struggle with it. Sam is very very smart and full of knowledge.
