I served with Delta 2/28th . I was wounded on operation Shenandoah on 10-17-67. The firefight was between Alpha and Delta Companies against 1200-1400 enemy soldiers in a horse shoe ambush. There was only about 135 of us between the 2 companies. Very thick jungle. A lot of my friends died that day and many were wounded. I was given the last rites when the medivac landed in Lai Khe .

What an interview. Outstanding. Mr. Littlejohn presents himself as a very intelligent warrior.
And that accent is a mark of a sophisticated southern gentleman.....I know, as I was raised in middle GA.

This guy is an American hero. Sounds like he was a hell of a soldier. America needs more men like him. Regardless of the circumstances in Vietnam, he did what he thought was right, and did it well. The way Vietnam veterans were treated after the war was disgraceful to say the least.

This is a great American. I served as an Airborne Infantryman (1-505th) in Afghanistan for exactly the same reasons. My father was 8th Infantry in Vietnam, so I followed his path.
    No regrets, but no forgetting.
    Only love for this hero.

A good friend of mine, in my church, went to Vietnam when I was 14, I met him when he came back, minus an eye. He was a dustoff medic. He lost his eye and was shot in multiple locations when the helicopter was shot down in a medivac operation.

Before I joined the US Army, I watched the nightly news of combat in Vietnam, which included enemy body counts and US KIA. When I joined the US Army in 1971 at 17 1/2, I knew I was going to Vietnam.

This is much better and more educational than what you will read in a history book. I am an afghan war vet, that conflict ended very similar to this one, and the enemy was just as sneaky and hidden as the ones in vietnam. My war was not as intense as this one was because of the open terrain. Nowhere for enemy to hide. It’s just that I cannot imagine people treating me like crap after I came back.

Damm, I learned in 1973 the truth of the cluster fk of the political side of the Vietnam police action where I lost many of my friends I grew up with and the pain of all of those who lived to return to the world. That has haunted me for 50 years.

The part about cutting off the ear to use as towards body count… this is what we all need to hear! The real raw uncut version of what went down out there… some these men were forced to go fight before they ever laid with a female in a jungle where if you have strong deodorant you’ll get noticed…. Bless these men!!! Thank you! 🇺🇸

God Bless you John and thank you for your service sir- 🙏
Another excellent piece of work Larry. I came back to say one thing as I hadn’t quite finished the video and when asking John about freedom and as he began listing off everything, it was just upsetting as hell to think that just between the time this video was made and today, most especially in the last 2-3 years, nearly all of those freedoms have been compromised. Criticism of government and protests can land you in prison for years w/o trial for one example. Voting is clearly compromised. Religion especially catholic or Christians are being harassed by law apparatuses, businesses having winners and losers picked and chosen by government, on and on. We are in a very dangerous time right now. All the best to Mr. Littlejohn and his family.

Horseshoe ambush was taught by the Russians to the vietnamese i believe. The Russians still look to be using this tactic today in Ukraine which is effective as hell! Has allowed them to take Mariupol and Avdiivka
