Back in 2002 my kids got PS1 from their uncle and my wife found this game at local pawn shop. I mostly remember it for the sounds and music. One of the only video games I ever care to play. I turn on these videos from time to time just to hear it again.
@@youraveragejoe2 don't have it any more, but still have PS2 I think. I know of one place in my area that might still have one. I thought of getting it and locking it in the machine and make it a Bust A Move game only machine.
ah man, used to play this with my mum, aunt and uncle, people that weren't usually into games but couldn't get enough of this. the noises are so nostalgic!
I was absolutely OBSESSED with this game!!! It was so simple and just amazing. The music was great and every time you hit a button or whatever it made that like chicken sound plus the soundtrack was phenomenal!!!!!! I fashioned myself to be pretty fricking good at this one I wish it would be re-released with an online mode to match up against others, I always wanted to test my skills
Wow. Shlauchi made all of those CPU opponents look like chumps. Even on Normal mode, they kicked my ass as a kid. Fact, I still managed to beat them. The last one especially brings me back because the way I beat him was... bide my time. Yep, we were both on the verge of losing, so I let my timer go down while he kept shooting and, eventually, he KO'd himself! Best moment from Bust-A-Move 2: Arcade Edition for me.
Watching this video, brought back so many good childhood memories. I used to watch my older sister play this game for hours. She would even let me play two player mode with her, even though she won all the time, it was still a great time. We played this game so much that the disc literally broke in half midway through a game while in the PS1. I broke down in tears that day when it broke.
I always hated when I was strategically building up the balls under something to screw over the other player and then the game would never give me that one ball I needed and it would end up being to late and I couldn't knock it down anymore when it did!!!!!!
Still the best version of this brilliant game, despite the long loading times. Clear sound effects and music and the entire Time Attack mode. Even the recent Switch port didn't have either!
I loved this game. I had the N64 version back in the day. What really made it memorable were the characters and catchy music. Admittedly, I could never get past the third level with the girl because from there the difficulty gets a very notable spike. Still a great game nonetheless.
The game's now on Switch and because it's the arcade port for Neo Geo, she's even more brutal. Once you get past her it's bizzare how smooth sailing it can be. Even Monsta puts up a fight in the Neo version xD
@@fruitlion8 There's 2 variations of this game in arcades, the Neo Geo version (of which there exists a version for places with an older crowd, the lifeless and dull Bust A Move Again, with a hand and wheel instead of Bub and Bob), and the Taito F3 version, which these ports are based upon. The version on Switch is likely the Taito F3 version.
I’ve never played this game before but it reminds me of Balloon Pop on Nintendo DS. I love puzzle games and this one looks awesome! I hope it gets added to PlayStation Classic.
I remade it in GameMaker this afternoon, customisable: you can specify how many balls you want and what the minimum and maximum speed should be. It's so cool!
@@danielmitchell893 The point of it is to be a longplay, not a playthrough. Longplays are obligated to show literally everything in a game that they can.
If one thing could bring back the world to a normal state, it would be playing video games in the 90s. The music, the bringing over your controller and games to your friends house. What a simpler time. Sad we don't have it anymore. 😢
This was the very first PlayStation game I played with my brother, he was the older one so of course was better at playing than I was (much like while playing Space Invaders, he was the one who always had to hit the last space ship cuz I could never do it 😅) this playthrough really makes me nostalgic for those times when we used to play these simple but fun little games.
I like how it's called "Bust a Move 2 Arcade Edition" despite the fact the American version of Bust a Move 2 actually removed every single goddamn trace of Bubble Bobble imagery.
Have all the PS1 Bust A Move titles (save for BAM 3DX, that wasn't released in the US, but perhaps one day I'll get it), and both games on the Saturn (Japanese versions, Puzzle Bobble 2X and Puzzle Bobble 3). Also have some other various Bust A Move games, first on PS2, Space BAM on DS, BAM Plus on Wii, and the one on PSP, BAM 4 on Gameboy, and Puzzle Bobble on SFC. The later games lost some of the character magic from the original 4 titles quite honestly, but retain the fun.
Yeah I have BAM99, but I believe DX was released in Europe (perhaps Japan as well), and may have some extra tweaks, or modes not present on the regular version.
People are still trying to recreate this game the original and best series (bubble witch saga etc all) what a game tempted to get the ps1 back out of hibernation
Nostalgiaaaaaa.... Anyone else remember this game being so hard, never got further than the pancake dude with the apartments on his head. Wow the game designers here were clearly on drugs hahaha
I remember watching my gran play this years ago and she gave me it for me to play at home I still have it and is definitely one of my favourite games so I've learned a few things from watching her play Thanks Granny ❤❤🥲

A good game very well played! I bought this game again recently to replace my childhood copy and it's still as much fun as when I was a kid.

Oh damn, that rock guy with the buildings on his head...for some reason I always remembered him as a cookie with a chef's hat lmao
You mean Tam Tam ? His rout the only one which comes with a special music track
Whenever me and my friends were tired of Twisted Metal, we play this. Such fun times.
Same!
I remember this game, it was back in 1996 when I played it before Crash Bandicoot came out in september
I think this is an awesome puzzle game; kudos to Taito! :)

Puzzle games in a nutshell, lol.
Typical puzzle game fashion

Why does a game so simple and innocent have such horrifying box art?

HUGE spike. I started dozens of new games only to be completely stomped by her. After her it's not nearly as hard for a few stages.
Until stage 6...
