SPOILERS! PLEASE do not watch this if you want to be totally unspoiled Please be respectful about commenting and use your best judgement when it comes to spoilers, there are some things nobody will care about hearing, and other things that really must be kept secret. this is the most serious pinned comment I've ever done so enjoy every time I mispronounce a name
you should really play UnderRail, it's a post-apocalyptic cyberpunkish crpg and it's really good, but it's hard tho, to aliviate this, use the character building tool on the wiki at the left side of the site.
@@leninthebeaniesouhacker.2459 I tell ya I've tried it haha. But holy smokes you aren't kidding, there's a lot going on and the character building confused the hell out of me. I might take another look at it though if I follow a guide and stuff - I do really hate following guides for games, but I'll see :D It's a good suggestion and the game is absolutely my type of game. Thank you! And thanks for watching and commenting too! I appreciate it!
Haha so listen, it starts off nice, but there's times when that dungeon master really wants you to suffer! Ayy but thank you for watching my long video! And for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it. Thank you!
@@reallylatereviews I thought you were going to say your Doctor. Question, I have P. Kingmaker and I like that it has a lot of villages or towns etc...But I'm thinking of buying this but it seems like a bunch of purple and red colors with burnt out buildings. Which would you recommend and/or does this game, WOTR, have mostly burnt up destroyed background settings in purple/red....and any 'normal looking villages and towns?
@@ajaxslamgoody9736 Ayy! So I would say this game does feature a few hamlets and villages, and the large city of Drezen. But you are right, the landscape you'll see most commonly while adventuring is the countryside (with some strong reds) and dungeons. Act 4 in particular takes place entirely in the abyss and is very red/purple. So yeah there are a few 'regular' locales but also a large amount of demonic areas.
Regill will always be one of the best written Lawful Evil characters in gaming. He is so well developed and voiced, and he is one of those characters that is already at the end of thier arc. He feels like the hardened veteran he is, and he is uncompromising to all. But he is not heartless. He genuinely seems to respect Lann, and also seems to very much admire Ember. And the conclusion to his personal quest is just...*chef's kiss*
This is it honestly. They nailed it. I like how during his quest there is a minor choice the player can make to poke fun at Regill, and it's dismissed as such. It would have been easy to make a big deal out of it, but Pathfinder is smart enough to have Regill just brush it off as acceptable. Really great character. Big chef's kiss for that conclusion! (I add in here thank you! For watching my video and stopping to comment, I really appreciate it and anyone who also appreciates Regill! So thank you!)
Hello, do you know if there is any connection with REgill and DEvil path? I dont really see Regill in any of my playthroughs, but was thinking about devil since lawful evil hell=hellknights and so on. Or is it that Regill actually despises hell aside from respecting it's iron rules?
@@dawidpotega882 I wanna say first thank you for watching my video and stopping to comment, thank you! Secondly, I think devil is one of the paths Regill is happy about. Any of the paths that steer towards lawful as you said! He hates demon though to my knowledge because it allows for chaotic alignment. You should be good with devil, especially if you get there via Aeon
@@dawidpotega882 Regill loves Devil and congratulates you for choosing it. Also Asmodeus is one of the godclaw deities that his order is devoted to, so in a roundabout way he already serves Hell.
I know I'm super late on this video, but I want thank you for actually naming the voice actors of the characters that you talk about. Reviewers almost never do that and it is a great shame. This whole video is great, I subscribed about 30 minutes in) Great work, can't wait to binge all your other reviews :D
What can I say to this but thank you haha. I was thinking about this the other day and I wish I could name everyone who worked on a game, I really do. But it's such a lengthy list usually, hopefully I can do their work justice by showcasing their game. For voice actors I make a little exception because they can become the stars of a game, so I try to give them credit. Sorry for rambling I wanted to mostly say thank you for watching and leaving kind words, and for subscribing too. I really do appreciate it, so thank you!
Ayyy she got that energy I dig it! :D But what can I say, holy smokes thank you! For your kind words, for watching my videos, thank you! It really means a lot to me!
Romancing Arushelae as a Bloodrager on an Azata playthrough was my first experience with the game, and, it felt like it was the way the game was meant to be played. A pissed off Angry Butterfly-worshipper singing the song of Elysium down to the depths of hell. ... then I played the Aeon, and .. they made it feel like it was the way it was meant to be played too. And the 'True' aeon ending is so out there compared to the others that I just had to sit back and ask myself if the game just really did that to me. Before I realized. No I did it to myself, and the game let me. Love this game, the sheer variety of things you can do. Who you can be, and so on. And I don't think I'll stop playing it until I get another Pathfinder game from Owlcat. Whenever that might be (hoping for you, Iron Gods campaign)
I think you perfectly summed up the best bit about this game. The core story is so good that I want to go back and do these other paths myself! It's got more meaningful choices than most RPGs that came before and as you said such variety. Let's hope we don't have to wait too long for more Owlcat haha! Also I'm planning to chat to Arueshelae as an Azata too that just feels like a really nice path I want to say thank you as well for watching my very long video! And stopping to share your story of the game, I love reading stuff like this, so thank you!
This is my favorite game of the last few years and easily a top 5 all time. You really nailed this review. There’s so much to love (and a bit to hate) about this game and I’m happy to see that you covered so much of it and got all the little details. I remember the first time I noticed potions on belts and spent like 5 minutes seeing what everything looked like. Keep up the good work!
Aw mine too, it's one of the best games in recent memory and a top tier RPG. And I did the same! With the potions and scrolls, just the level of detail and care that went into this. These guys loved making this and it shows. I worried about making a long video, but there is just so much to talk about and I wanted to cover things that might get glossed over. Thank you as well! For such kind words and for watching my very long video haha! I appreciate it, I really do, so thank you!
Daeran is definitely one of the better characters. The way you start off absolutely hating him cuz of his arrogance only to end up loving him cuz of his story... Amazing writing.
Daeran is fantastic holy smokes. Seldom do I get turned around on a character so quickly, usually I am stuck loathing them but I really like Daeran, as you said great writing and of course the great voice acting by Matt Merritt. Thank you as well! For taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment, I really appreciate it! So thank you!
Camellia is like his opposite, unless you enjoy freaky and crazy girls(that first and 2nd sęx scenes are quite wild tbh and i went for it even tho i was chaotic good/neutral demon because i freaked with anyone i could because i had demon of wrath and lust in me)@@reallylatereviews No spoilers tho, but the flags were all there... open your heart to me:DDD
Thank you so much, holy smokes, for leaving kind words and watching my videos! I really do appreciate it (even if I say that a lot) so thank you! I'm gonna try to keep making videos worth your time, don't worry they are coming! They just take a while and I make them in my freetime haha!
Such a good review as always! I am always excited when I see one of your CRPG reviews pop-up in my Subscription list, especially when they're for older titles. Keep it up!
Ayyy thank you! Holy smokes, thank you for watching, subscribing and leaving kind words. I really appreciate it! I've got more old reviews coming (eventually :D) but it'll be a while before I tackle a big CRPG again. This took months haha!
Idk why but ive watched this video like 5 times, the editing is spectacular. I particularly like the last like 30 seconds or so, feels super heroic and fits angel amazingly. Keep up the good work!
Bofa holy smokes, just thank you honestly. It really warms my heart to see people come back and hearing that you wanna watch my video again is lovely, especially this one. I really wanted to do something a little different to end this video because I had such fun with the game and the angel playthrough. I think some of my style changed making this so I'm glad it's enjoyed :D Thank you again for real, I'm gonna try to keep making good videos worth your time! (It's getting harder to find old comments but I know your other comments are around here somewhere, youtube won't show me them in the studio, but thank you for your kind words both now and then!)
8k subs? Are you joking, my dude? Get a hundred thousand immediately. Some of the most educated reviews out there. And funny as hell too. Also glad you've enjoyed this exceptional story. Top 1 story and characters for sure.
Ayyyy thank you you're way too kind rofl! I really enjoyed it and I agree, it's exceptional it really is. Lovely story. I dunno what else to say besides thank you! For watching and taking the time to leave such kind words. I really appreciate it, thank you!
Azata: Convince them it'll be okay?? No no no. Azata: Destroy a slaver market in the abyss because freedom rules, plant a tree there that defies the laws of physics and nobody can get rid of it. Theme song sounds like it was produced in the Shire. Have a pet fairy dragon that has the same vocabulary range as lulu from league of legends.
Haha okay I may have done Azata dirty there, but I didn't really get the path at the time. I've been told how much chaos they cause when they get going but in my defense they have fairy wings. I do love the trees and the music though. And I want to say thank you! For watching my really long video and stopping to comment, even if I undersold Azata. I really appreciate it, so thank you!
@@reallylatereviews I mean the path is literally about freedom in its truest sense you are such a force for good that a Devil tries to corrupt you because you would be a problem for the natural order of the world. But yeah its a pretty fun path, all of them are except well Swarm that walks, thats just a muder hobo fantasy.
Azata is all friendship and rainbows until it isn't and the same friendly Azata butchers demons with eztreme prejudice and outmaneuvers them with its unpredictability
Man this game really took a lot of my time during the pandemic. 2k plus hrs just like that went by with this game, I am so tempted to have another run again with the new DLCs and sub classes.
I can believe it, it is such a timesink game in the best possible way. I think I started playing this in the tail end of lockdown but had to put it down for work. So I came back to it much later over about 6 months rofl. Lovely game, and gosh that's a lot of hours but I can understand why. You're not alone, I am thinking about heading back for a couple of the DLCs, at least. I wanna say thank you! For watching and commenting, I really appreciate that! So thank you!
Holy moly, thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video, and for leaving kind words as well. I always worry about my writing so hearing this helps me wanna make more, so thank you!
Aw this is what I worry about so much, I want to do any game I review the justice it deserves (even if I am brutally honest about it's flaws.) Thank you, it's really nice to hear that I've done just that. I can't wait either! I'm trying not to learn too much about it but it all looks promising! Lastely I want to thank you again for your kind words and watching my long video! I appreciate it, so thank you!
This was a fantastic video that struck the perfect balance of providing a in-depth review while also giving entertaining commentary to keep the video interesting! This video finally convinced me to buy the game. Excited to check out some other videos you've made, keep it up!
Thank you holy smokes! It's a big deal to me that you trust my video to make a purchase, I hope you enjoy the game I really do. I haven't played in a while but they've gone back and added some more stuff to the story for free as well. I also want to say thank you for your kind words and for watching, I appreciate that. Thank you!
Oh Nocticula is the best and I really like how they handled her in the game! She's one of the few characers important enough to actually sit down in a chair rofl. I don't mention it in the video but what you described 'can' come up in the game (that's all I'll say in case people pop down here to read :P ) but the player will have some influence over this. I'm also gonna say thank you! For watching my video and taking the time to leave a commend, it means a lot to me! So thank you!
Haha thank you! I worried a bit about that running on so I tried to deliver it quickly. I also want to say thank you so much for watching my long ass video, and taking the time to leave kind words. It's lovely to hear and I appreciate it, thank you!
Ayy haha! Well I hope you enjoy it, I really do! There's no better time to get this than a sale, and I think it'll last a good while for the money. Thank you as well for watching my video and commenting, also for trusting my video to make a purchase - I hope I haven't led you wrong! Thank you!
This is my favorite game ever, and as such I've watched all sorts of reviews - The amount of care you put in your videos is insane. It's also funny that I have more complaints about the game than you, but that's probably the old "I've played this game for over 2,000 hours (seriously), it sucks" meme speaking. Also, you got me with the dedicated ram pun.
Thank you holy smokes! I really appreciate your kind words and you taking the time out of your day to watch my videos haha! Thank you! As to what you said, I think that the games we play the most are the ones that infuriate us the most, because we love them and we spend our time with them. The games we don't care for might infuriate us for a few minutes, and then we forget them forever. Someone complaining about a game is as much a sign of passion for that game as anything else! Sorry for long winded reply rofl, I'm just very grateful for your really kind words, if I can do right by fans of these games then I'm happy. Thank you. Dedicated ram lol glad someone liked it!
Ayyy haha! Thank you! (I liked that one too) and let me also say thank you for watching my long video, and stopping to comment even with my bad jokes. I do appreciate it, so thank you!
I tell ya I'm a Stellaris fan but I just can't get into CK, I wish I could but I think it's my brain wishing there were more hands-on or RPG elements in a game like that. Also I can't help myself I prefer fantasy to medieval realism. This is a long winded way of saying I agree with you rofl, I'd love to see a truly dedicated fantasy kingdom management/RPG. I want to be able to designate fields for apple trees and root out a demon summoning cult on the same day. I wanna add, thank you so much for watching my long video and stopping to comment! I really do appreciate it (sorry I took so long to reply!) Thank you!
@@reallylatereviews.... Ck3 is even more rpg than ck2, it's just a learning curve man. It literally takes the same approach as these games. I'm getting into pathfinder now and what you gotta do is watch some tutorials and just get into it. Don't make your dream thing first, just pick a starting lord (like picking a build someone else made) that suits your taste and throw yourself in. Pick something small, it's the equivalent of picking a simple class like fighter, rogue or wizard. Just roll with the punches and learn. After a couple of trial runs you start getting the hang of it, and just like these games, at that point the game becomes your lovely playground. Instead of 'what would it be like to play this class/fantasy', it's 'can I make Ireland rule the world'. Yes, yes you can. You can rp a sneaky fucker who assassinated and plots, a viking raider, a Mongol horselord, an Islamic caliph.
Okay haha so don't judge me, but it's more I can't get into the style of the game. It's hard to put into words. I like games like Rimworld for instance because I can see my little colony growing. You're a direct overseer without total direct control. CK3 and Stellaris have that spreadsheet feel to them, it's not just a visual thing it's that it's almost all handled on the world/galaxy map. I won't lie I got my ass handed to me when I did try the game rofl, when I knew I was losing I put as much energy as I could into breaking up my enemy's marriage. But genuinely I think I just had the wrong expectation of the game. It was too far removed from the ground floor for me but I am a bit basic when it comes to my games. But I think I'll take your advice and give it another go when I have time because I did flunk out pretty quickly haha, and I bet there are some good fantasy mods going around. Knowing Paradox about 50 DLCs too.
Maaaaaan thank you! That's all I can say! Thank you for watching my long video haha, and taking the time out of your day to leave kind words. I really do appreciate it, so thank you!
I understand that completely! The game is quite long rofl. I think if you explore and take your time, 160 hours is what you're looking at. My second playthrough was more like 45 hours so even then a pretty lengthy time investment. I'm just glad to almost convince you haha! Especially as your insight helps me keep in mind mentioning playtimes in future videos! So thank you! For taking the time to leave kind words, and of course for watching! I appreciate it, thank you!
Hands down the best video game review I have watched on the Internet, and I am getting on in years. Absolutely fair and in depth praise and criticism in equal measure.
Maaaaaan thank you! I don't really know what to say to respond except thank you so much, for your kind words and taking the time out of your day to watch my video. I'm just grateful I really am. Thank you!
Ayyy! Dotun! Thank you for coming back to watch! Holy smokes and thank you for such a kind comment as well, I really appreciate it! I'm gonna try and make my next video as good as I can so fingers crossed you enjoy it haha :D Thank you again!
i wasn't expecting such a good quality review from video with such low view count. What a pleasant surprise it is. Have my comment for youtube algorithm and like for just for you x)
Ayy thank you! I don't stress over the algorithm haha. But I tell you what, I am grateful for you taking the time out of your day to watch my video! And for leaving a lovely comment, it means a lot to me! So thank you!
This was a fantastic review. I've had the game in my library for a while and was thinking about playing it over Christmas, and this convinced me to dive into it. Thanks!
Thank you so much! It's lovely to read kind words and I tell ya this is definitely a game that could tide you over an entire holiday! I hope you enjoy it and if not I'm happy to take the blame haha But in all seriousness, thank you for watching and Merry Christmas!
Haha! I'm glad it wasn't just me! Although thanks to editing magic I didn't show all the other times I got smacked about in that first dungeon. Thanks as well for watching my very long video, and taking the time to comment! I appreciate it!
Ayyy thank you so much! Holy smokes I hope I can keep making videos worth your time! And I am excited for Rogue Trader aw, it has been a good time lately for RPGs! I feel like the genre needed an new infusion for a few years now (edit here: and although underrated I think Wrath is getting a second wind with BG3 shining light on the genre again!) Also, thank you for taking the time to watch my long video! And for leaving kind words, I really do appreciate it! Thank you!
I firmly believe they could create some sort of hybrid, fast turned based, where you can take as long as you like on your turn and enemies all get to act together if they have adjacent turns being given 6 seconds of real time to do it etc
I like that idea a lot. I wish XCom had a system like this. I really do prefer turn based games but the worst part is waiting and speeding up animations takes something out of the experience. Gosh I like that idea, that would be neat. Please let me also say thank you! For watching and commenting! I appreciate it, so thank you!
Haha! I love this game cause you can say stuff like that. (I want to add here real quick, thank you! For watching and commenting, I really appreciate it! Thanks!)
Man, your enthusiasm for this game is infectious! You mentioned starting a new game right after your first playthrough; for starters, I did the same with your review, it's so well made. I like how you approach what other people would consider significant deterrents in following the game to it's conclusion, with curiosity, a desire to learn the rules and, maybe most important in this case, with patience - something I aim to emulate in my first playthrough, albeit with the difficulty turned down just a bit. Fantastic review, very thorough/informative and with a great sense of humor (+1 for the OG dinosaur and all the neatly placed F bombs). You mentioned in a comment not planning to tackle another crpg for a while, but... maybe a Baldur's Gate 3 review? Cheers!
I wanna say thank you first of all for your kind words. It's a big ask to hope someone will watch an hour-plus video, let alone twice so I'm just absolutely glad you enjoyed it. Thank you! To follow, usually I like to wade in and hope the game will steer me right haha! I was pleasantly surprised by just how much you can learn inside of Pathfinder without looking outside. I did look up builds but mostly to see which feats were worthless but you're right it's very much a game that requires a bit of patience. I think this is the best attitude as well, play the game and get comfortable with it before ramping up the difficulty. I tell you I am playing BG3 right now while I work on another video. The temptation to tackle it is extreme haha! But also there are hundreds of BG3 videos being made. Pathfinder took me 4-6 months on and off so it will not be a small project for me but more than that, if I start now I know I will rush it to get in with those other videos :D and that is doing a disservice to everyone who watches. But yeah it is something I'd love to talk about! I apologise for the long winded reply, I wanted to give full answers! Thank you again for your lovely comment!
Thanks a lot for your reply and yeah, I think I understand exactly what you're saying about BG3. It seems to be a fantastic game as well and definitely worthy of your full attention - not to mention that in the end we'll also benefit from that when you drop your review, hehe. I would be curious from your first impressions - and I promise not to take more of your time with other questions after this - how does it compare to PF:WotR? I see a lot of praise for BG3 at the moment but it seems to me that many of it's qualities were also present in WotR, without the game gathering such a widespread praise, especially in mainstream media - I know WotR was critically acclaimed as well and fans of CRPGs, as well as a lot of YT reviewers hold it in high regard, but maybe it was deserving of even more? Either way, no worries if you can't reply, I know how precious time can be when you're struggling to get a million things done. Looking forward to your next review - whatever it may be - and take care!
Right first of all, you're not taking up time. I love reading comments and I do my absolute best to reply when I can. So don't stress about that. To answer your question AW I mean, it's good. It's a different level of freedom of choice. I'm hesitant to compare them because the way BG3 is made you can do so many things you just can't do in WotR - or any other RPG. I was playing BG3 with a friend and said "Hey catch" before throwing a healing potion at them to heal them. Rather than say which is better I would rather say there are now in my mind three bastions of role playing games. Obsidian, Larian and Owlcat, and not in any order. They're all deserving of critical acclaim. And since it came out people are talking about Pillars of Eternity and yeah, Pathfinder. I've had more views on this since BG3 came out haha. I love the game on it's own merits, it's revitalised the genre, and it's highlighting other great games too. Sorry for going on for so long, it's a loaded question. I think both games are triumphs, I really do. You have a great day and take care also and please never worry about asking questions! Thank you!
Ayy holy smokes, I'm glad you like the videos! All I can say is thank you for watching them and for taking the time to leave kind words. I really do appreciate it, so thank you!
Excelent Review...u really make me wanna play this game. Now i'm playing BG3...when it's over this will be my next totally nerdy aventure. Sorry for my poor English
Your English is great, do not apologise! And thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to watch and comment. Thank you! If you like BG3 I think you'll enjoy this! Some elements are slower, and graphically BG3 is very impressive, but both games stand out as amazing RPGs.
What a great review, really well done! This game is freaking amazing. I started at medium difficulty but ditched on act 2 after completely failing that crusade, heroes of might and magic, army managing… Now on my 2nd run, started on Core diff and god help me, can’t even imagine Unfair. Btw that double volume joke 😆 you sir, you deserve my like!
Haha well first of all, thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to watch my video. Thank you! And I tell you, I don't wanna think about unfair. It sounds like a nightmare! The difficulty of the crusade management really feels like a rollercoaster in act 2 and 3 so I understand that completely. Core is fun but I am glad it was my 2nd playthrough, those prebuilt companions just aren't up to it at all! I wish you luck though on your new playthrough, you got this!
Playing for the first time now. I’ll skip the spoilers but wanted to stop in and say hi! There’s a great niche for reviewing stuff for new players who didn’t find games at release
Holy smokes thank you! I do not blame you at all, this is a game I really didn't want to spoil but even then I'd rather someone just not watch. There's nothing worse than a new game being spoiled hehe! Thank you again for stopping by and commenting, I really appreciate it!
Ayyy Andrew! Thank you for coming back to watch my videos and taking the time to leave kind words, I always appreciate it and I just hope I can keep making videos you like, thank you! I'm excited too haha! I've always struggled to get into 40k games but as an outsider looking in, I loved how the universe looked. So I can't wait to get into it!
"And as usual I spent way too long customizing my character so when I finally loaded into the game I promptly went to bed." That's... such a Sims experience 😹 Not gonna play the game, but video is immensely entertaining anyway coz of good humor and your inspired way of conveying trains of thoughts. Bismuth is hella cute ♡ Also kinda pleased to discover that it was developed by fellow countrymens (and countrywomans •̀ ヮ •́ ) (Obviously not exclusively, seems like an international effort.) Thanks for the video! c:
Haha aw I remember spending ages getting sims looking just right! It takes time ya know! :D Bismuth is the best bless him! And yeah it's lovely as Owlcat seems to be expanding, and I think having another big RPG developer can only be a good thing. Thank you as well for leaving your comment, I worry I talk too much but I think for RPGs context and anecdotes help someone form an idea of what they'll like, and what they won't. So I really do appreciate every comment including yours, because it helps me make each video better. So thank you and thank you for watching as well!
Thank you! It's lovely to hear so I'm really grateful. All I can say is thanks for watching my (long ass) video and taking the time out of your day to leave kind words!
truth be told I clicked on this video on the off chance that you can't stand Nenio and her quest too 😂 but man, what a great review. will be going through your other reviews too. I think your writing is great, funny and detailed enough while giving your honest and fair opinion. cheers, mate!
Rofl oh she is such a nightmare. I think they were trying to do a Mordin from Mass Effect thing but it just backfired. To their credit, back then Bioware knew you can't create a socially eccentric character without heart or soul. Or they're just that asshole you don't talk to All I can say as well is thank you! Rhank you for taking the time out of your day to watch my video, and stopping to leave kind words. I say it a lot but I really do appreciate it, and it helps me want to make more! Thank you!
Oh no haha! I can believe that. If it makes you feel any better I missed so much, including a companion quest in act 4 in both playthroughs. The second time I even knew about it I just forgot. Thank you for sharing this pain and for watching and commenting! I appreciate it! Thank you!
Daeran really is that friend from your hometown who is always ready to give you the low down on the drama there and make fun of people. Social situation king.
That's one of the best descriptions of Daeran haha, I like it and I can picture him telling you who's worth talking to, who to avoid. He makes life interesting thats for sure. Orcdork, thank you, this is my longest video rofl so thank you for coming back to watch it and again for commenting. Thank you!
Comparing Woljif to quark had me in stitches. Glad you liked the game, tbh I think this game is just pure magic for some people and im glad to be one such person
Ayyy! I am a big fan of Quark haha, I try to work him in wherever I can. You know what I couldn't have put it better. For people who get into pathfinder it really is pure magic. And holy smokes thank you for watching my video, and thanks for leaving kind words as well, it means a lot to me, so thank you!
@@reallylatereviews Of course, its a great video! tbh ive wanted to write up a detailed breakdown of my thoughts and opinions on the game for a long time, but its far too daunting I've yet to get around to it. I hope you try the azata path, its my personal favorite and feels perfect for a second+ playthrough Ds9 is just awesome, you've got a +1 Greed bonus to your subscriber count today friend!
Holy moly thank you! I just hope I can keep making stuff worth watching ya know haha! Thank you! DS9 is fantastic isn't it? It's one of those things that never gets old. I will have to play Azata, my next playthrough I planned a while back was an Azata bard! I tell ya what, this review was 6 months in the making. I started last september and had to pause to re-edit all my old videos for stock footage concerns. Then I picked it up again in February I think. It's put me off reviewing massive RPGs again anytime soon. For my other reviews I've recorded dozens of hours of footage, for this I had days. Monumental amount of video rofl. Which meant that when I came to find stuff I needed for the script, it was faster to go back and record it again. But this is a long winded way of saying you're absolutely not alone, this was daunting for me haha! But whether it's a video or a write up, it's better to chip away than record it all in one go, if ya see what I mean. Even if you only do a few lines of your script in a whole day, those are going to be quality lines. All I'd say is please let me know so I can read or watch whatever you end up doing.
@@reallylatereviews Im actually rewatching this video cause I find it genuinely entertaining, the editing, humor, its spectacular. Actually fantastic work I hope you stick with this youtube thing! Also I want to say a few things about that game that may or may not be helpful: 1- toybox and bubble buffs. Im guessing you know about at least one of these, but bubble buffs is really, REALLY great for repeat playthroughs. 2- Play an azata skald instead! skald gets to share barbarian rage powers with the party, and its frankly.... A straight upgrade from bard. Really glad i discovered this gem of a channel, great critical thoughts mixed in the really entertaining reviews. Particularly like the dragons dogma one!
@@bofad6074 Thank you, I really dunno what to say but thank you! It's a long video rofl, so bless you for saying it's worth watching even once. Toybox I made use of on my second playthrough for cosmetics and camera angles, but I will look into Bubble Buffs! That sounds very useful because I built up too much muscle memory on Daeran clicking all the buffs in order :D Skald sounds pretty good actually and I see them recommended in build videos a lot! So I will take a look, and they sound chaotic as well so that fits right in! Thanks! Thank you again for your kind words and, ya know what I'm pretty happy with my Pathfinder review, but the Dragon's Dogma video is still my favourite rofl. Just so much kept going wrong and I pulled out so much hair. I really had fun making that.
Wow, one of the best reviews of one of the best cRPG games ever. I especially like the allegory illustrating how a channel with videos of this quality has orders of magnitude fewer subscribers than most other popular ones, like WOTR has orders of magnitude fewer sales than BG3, while being superior in many ways, on account of being much less accessible.
Haha I have to confess I don't stress too much about view or subscriber counts. I just want to review great games and make people laugh. If I can do this I'm happy :D I agree as well, I love BG3 don't get me wrong. But when you balance the two together WotR is an equal cut from different cloth it really is. Both games have ups and downs. I want to say I'm really grateful for you taking the time to watch my video, and leave a lovely comment. That means a lot to me, so thank you!
Great vid, I enjoyed Pathfinder WotR. I don't know if you ever encountered it, but one of the houses in Kenabres has a signet ring (Signet of House Vespertilio) which I backed at a tier to have created. Handy for skill checks ;) All that aside, Wenduag is supreme, all hail spidermom. No spoilers, but I recommend giving her a try. Wait a second, a smile better suits a hero? That sounds familiarly traumatic.
Ayyy thank you Mara! I had to look it up but I recognised it instantly. I think I used it to get past some really difficult checks in act 4 so thanks for putting that in haha! It's also in the brimorak house which destroyed me about 10 times in a row I am definitely taking Wenduag for my next playthrough, I've heard nothing but good things about spidermom and I think she'd get on well with a demon PC Also thank you! For coming back to watch my videos, and for taking the time to comment, I really do appreciate it, thank you! Also I dunno about that other thing no idea what you mean
@@reallylatereviews Hmmmmm.... ;) Looking forward to their Warhams game, when it's done baking. Thank you for the video, hopefully it gets good algo stuff.
I would absolutely love to see that. I see these two games pit against each other often but they both have different strengths, would be great to see those strengths combined. I want to say thank you as well! For watching and commenting on my video, I appreciate it, so thank you!
I'm an Alchemist Angel on Act 3, Chaotic Good. I was playing on Hard, but after Drezen, I switched to Core with some minor tweaks, and the game got easier... because after Drezen, I learned a lot about the game, and I started to get really strong. But since I still have a lot of challenges ahead, I'm sure there will be much harder fights even on Act 3. I'm on act 3 of Baldurs Gate, but got really curious how Pathfinder was, so I started playing it... and I haven't gone back to Baldurs Gate for nearly a month lol. Of course BG3 is amazing, I was having a lot of fun, but I just cant stop playing Pathfinder lol I usually find reviews that are too optimistic to be average (because they tend to blindly love a game), but omg, the way you described stuff felt like as if it was me shouting to my friends: DUDE I GOT THIS ANGEL POWER AND I DESTROYED THE ENEMIES, IT WAS SO AMAZING I CAN BARELY EXPLAIN WHY. loooool. You reviewed it with a heavy hype tone, and I can totally understand it! I don't like much to be the chosen one, or to have super powers, although that is present on almost all RPGs. But so far, the way this game does it makes me just enjoy so much the power I am getting. The game is so brutal and hard, and when you see that power destroying enemies feels so good. I know many games do this, but in this one, the story really embraces it, the entire crusade thing makes you really feel like a powerful being. And you nailed explaining all that. Just some extra stuff: - I'm using a dungeonetics website to see the map of the world. It helped me to understand more about the locations they talk about. It also has a calendar that I keep track of time. - I'm using Toybox mod, it improves tons of stuff. I'm also using a buff mod... maybe that is why it is a bit easier on Act 3 to me for now, because I apply like 30 buffs before some fights. You have to choose them wisely, sure, but at least with the press of one button they all apply instantly. (I think you can cheese with it mid combat, so I only use them before a fight starts).
Alchemist Angel sounds amazing haha! What a combo. And ayyyy into core difficulty! Honestly that's awesome, I didn't feel I was ready for core difficulty until after my first playthrough. I want to try bard but alchemist is tempting also. It's true the chosen one thing is a bit overdone but I agree, Wrath tempers that with the difficulty curve and narrative. You feel like you earned those abilities and inherit the responsibilities that come with them so yeah couldn't agree more. Toybox is great! The camera stuff and the appearance modifications you can do with it are absolutely essential. If you're using Buffbot I respect that immensely, I was going to talk about it but I never got around to trying it out. I'd not heard of Dungeonetics but I had a quick look and it looks like a great aid to visualise the world of Golarion. I tell ya I just hit act 3 of BG3 myself and with that and Wrath it feels like the CRPG is making a comeback and a step forward at the same time. They're both addictive! I want to say as well, thank you so much for watching my long ass video! And taking the time out of your day to write such kind words, I really do appreciate it! I try to be as genuine as possible in my reviews, while I can't ever be objective or unbiased, I can be honest haha! And hopefully the context and criticism helps show the excitement I feel for this game is genuine. And the Angel abilities do slap rofl so it's hard to explain. Thank you!
@@reallylatereviews I already got hard fights in Act 3, that took me a long time to beat haha Im new to CRPGs and Im enjoying them thanks to BG3 and divinity 2 :) Your script was really good. The pictures added a lot of charm, you told a story, really well done :)
@@MemoriesLP Ayyy! I'm glad you're enjoying CRPGs, I can honestly say you've entered into the genre with some real bangers! :D The fights in act 3 really start to test your party haha! (And holy smokes thank you so much!)
Great review, i've been on the fence for this for a long time - I see it on sale, taunting me, ever so often. Amusingly, i'm just starting to put feelers out for something for when I finish what i'm currently playing....which happens to be Mask of the Betrayer, lol. Could well be this was simply meant to be.
Holy smokes what are the odds haha! Well I will say this game doesn't drift into as heavy territory as Mask does narratively, but the quality of the story it wants to tell is sound. Saying that though, some of Pathfinder is quite dark, but it remains a good spirited adventure! I still remember Okku. I feel awful saying this as a dinosaur/chult fan, but Storm of Zehir is not that great. It lacks any real core story. I mention this in case you're looking at Storm of Zehir. Pathfinder is definitely a better follow up to Mask than Storm haha. If it came as a bundle it won't hurt to try but if not I'd hold off purchasing it. I also want to say thank you for your kind words, and for stopping to watch my video! I really appreciate it!
Just yesterday i went and rewatched some of your videos and was hoping you'll upload again soon. And there you are! I wanted to watch the review while falling asleep. Not because it's boring, but because i like falling asleep with a good mood. And that's what your videos, personality and enthusiasm put me in; a good mood! Ended up watching the whole thing, fully awake, though 😄 Thanks for the entertainment, great review! I will probably try the game sometime. Gonna watch an older upload from you to fall asleep to now 😁
Holy smokes I don't know what to say except thank you! I think it's for this reason I only really review the games I enjoy, even if I can't say I absolutely recommend them to everyone. It helps keep the reviews positive even if I rant about what makes me pull out my hair, it's in good spirits because ultimately I still like the game. So I don't think I'll ever review a game I don't enjoy and this means more sleep videos rofl! Nah I joke, I'm just very grateful for your kind words, and for watching my video! Thank you! I say it a lot but I really appreciate it! I never thought anyone would enjoy my videos at all so I'm genuinely glad
@@reallylatereviews You're very welcome :) I discovered your channel, because of your Dragons Dogma Review. When i finished it, i was shocked to find out that it's only your 3rd upload. Good quality and fun from the start. I'm not an expert, just some dude, who watches a lot of gaming reviews, but i'd say you have the potential to become way bigger! Also: i'd still watch a video about a game, that you didn't like 😁
I'm sorry I missed your reply, TH-cam really lets me down sometimes. I don't have much to add anyway haha! Except to say thank you again. I think I couldn't make it through a game I didn't like haha! Maybe Cyberpunk 2077 which was such a let down. I'd have to find something good to say about it though - probably the mods :D
@@reallylatereviews No worries mate. There will be thousands of comments soon enough. You can't answer all of them :) I am just glad to see your stuff and actually responding to me :D Just know, that i am a big fan of yours :) best of wishes from germany :) love you bud, and best of luck!
Not seeing 10+ buffs on everyone all the time made me anxious as a long term player of these games. And yeah the Tavern fight was made for realtime with pause, not turn based.
I wanna personally assure you that the lack of buffs was for my first playthrough, but to make it worse again, it was like that the entire time. For the second I was buffed up but when editing this, I noticed I was missing my key buffs when fighting Playful Darkness, including blood rage. How I missed that I have no idea. The tavern fight yeah in real time, feels pretty good! But holy smokes if you want to play in turn based you're in for a treat with that one. I wanna thank you for watching my video even though you already played the game, that means a lot to me. And thank you for taking the time to leave a comment as well! I appreciate it, so thank you!
Holy smokes thank you! I mean it's over an hour so I'm grateful anyone would watch it once haha! For real though, thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch it and leave kind words, I really appreciate it. Thank you!
I went into Pathfinder WoTR on a blank slate, I saw Mandalore recommend it and it happens to be on 75% discount and say "well, I got free time" almost 300 hours later, I gotta say... money well spent Grease part is so relatable. Although mine was not grease, but pitfall. Seelah getting sucked into those was so common during Act 0 & Act 1
I really agree with the money well spent thing haha. It's some of the best I've ever spent, if I didn't enjoy making videos so much I probably would have played this a third time by now rofl Oh Pitfall got me through that gargoyle section but yeah, Seelah does not care where she goes haha Let me also say thank you for watching my long video! And for commenting too! I appreciate it, thank you!
I tell ya I love DOS2 I really do but I'm taking a lil' break from RPG videos rofl. They take 4-6 months without fail :P Maybe one day! BUT I will say thank you for your kind words, for taking the time to watch and comment. I really appreciate it. So thank you!
First time watching your video, i have to say that this was the best review I've actually seen, i really enjoyed it. Subbed will check out your stuff and looking forward for more. 👍
Holy smokes thank you, this is just lovely to hear. I really hope you enjoy what's coming up! All I can say is thank you for subscribing, watching and most importantly for taking the time to leave kind words. I really do appreciate it and it pushes me to make more. Thank you!
I see what you did there 46:45 Haurchefant... I mean... Lann. Give Wendu a try though, if you havent already. She may pull another Daeren if you romance her.
Haha I dunno what you mean but I have three cups of cocoa! :P I really must do my next playthrough with Wenduag because I always get recommended her, and she really has a unique perspective in all her dialogue. Next time for sure! I want to add as well, thank you! For watching my video and stopping to leave a comment, I really do appreciate it! Thank you!
@@reallylatereviews Sure give it one here, and you can give the second one to this teenager that just changed its voice. On a slightly more serious matter, your review was on overall a delight. It was like coming across an old friend even, specialy your bit about mask of the betrayer being your favorite rpg. It is same for me. Ever since i was introduced to the concept of Epic via 3.5e, i love it. "You tough you were special, just because you saved the world once? A celebrated chosen one? What if that wasnt be all end all but just a step to a much larger and much darker existence." And Mask does that incredibly. To this day, still Mask's quote on quote 'evil' ending is my favorite thing ever. I would give everything to play the aftermath of that through some Deities and Demigods adventure though. I had alot of hope for WOTR to be successor to Mask on that regard. And in many ways, it was... But sadly, i think its biggest strenght (having too many mythic paths) also its biggest weakness... Demon and Angel are extremly close Mask in regards of quality. But even with lich that quality drops a bit, despite, it was the path i was so hopeful of... And end game paths even worse on the regard of narrative cohesion and quality. So i suppose i will just finish my words... At the end everything i find you, my friend. Just ride the light of the stars to the end, and do one Demon playthrough... if you havent already. PS: oh! also you should do vampire the masquerade bloodlines late review.
@@sethrougen8968 First of all, thank you for your kind words, holy smokes. Thank you. I couldn't agree more Mask is just lightning in a bottle and to continue that story would have been fantastic. I followed the good path in that game but the evil story was so good it was truly something else. I love how it's the most emotional you see Kelemvor in that story, it's like he truly can't believe what you've done. Such a great game. I think I wanted a bit more from Lich, there were only so many things I could say without spoiling too much. But I really hated the act 5 opening with the lich option. It was such a letdown. I wanted to play a truly lawful lich, but the act 5 option to save Drezen, resulting in the undead killing everyone is just awful. It felt like they ran out of time. I would have mentioned it but it was one part of one path, and very spoiler heavy. Not enough to ruin the game. Angel made up for it as well! Haha I will do one demon playthrough in time, I've heard that's the best time to take Wenduag but I want to try and woo Nocticula! I tell ya Bloodlines is on the list! It's a big RPG and I'm taking a break from those for a bit :D but it will get seen to! Love that game (Also I can't believe he isn't coming back from the edge of space, I refuse to believe it)
@@reallylatereviews That gorgeous man wrecked me harder then of his mechinations with his final breath... At one part, i wanted to save him and force him to join the scions. In another... I know he is a broken creature that would struggle alot if not fail complately to adjust to a normal life... And i think thats what broke me most about him, I see myself in him... Anywhoo, shooing the depressing toughts, and freakishly tall blonds... I thank you as well, for the video and your engagement overall. Lich was pretty disappointing for me as well. For alot of its part, its weirdly draconian, as it felt like i was often switching my dm with someone who would only give me nice things if he made sure i SUFFERED. Here is the asshole Master you have to appease, and you never truely can. Here is the depressive thoughts creeping into your mind in your moments of triumph (description you get how you feel nothing or your soul/heart dying ect). Fact that story didnt even allowed me to outmanuever my non mythic teacher and show i am the better necromancer. A note for you; Demon lets you do this by the way. And worst of all, at one point like you mentioned, DM not even acknowledging and accepting my leanings and telling me "okay, you are evil now, and i am not even gonna let you choose what flavor of evil". Like... I wanted to actualize the Geb'ian dream. (in lore, its a farce by the way, mortals are not living nicely along with undead as septimus tells you or he himself thinks) But, i wanted to be this undead emperor. (funny enough, i sort of later did via mods and flag modifications and whatnot) There is a reason, vampire sub-path is frequently talked in kingmaker subreddit, though, i dont know if you are a visitor there... Being a lich, or super powerful necromancer was a novel and very wanted idea... So, i must give props to the WOTR for *trying* to fullfill that fantasy, but it feels like they failed miserably on so many regard. (Have you played Irathus? Irathus at least enjoys his undead existence despite being tyrannical xD) Unless that is your fantasy of great lich was literally becoming Lich King from world of warcraft, Tyrannical, Depressed, Crippled and sitting on ice all day, Alone. Lastly, some advices, if you dont mind, about your eventual demon playthrough... I think you will come across alot of variation and maybe even branches in demon playthrough and even you may even save at some points and do like *what if*s... But in my opinion, demon plays most well when you play it like you are true heir to Areelu. As in, leaning to evil when its nessecery, but being the ultimate conduit of freedom; even as game telling you "rising against anything that binds and churbs". Whatever morality or powers that be to stand in your way... It is absolutely an incredible experience. Its similar to how like Angel feels better on Good path rather then Lawful path (unless you are memeing deus vult infidel!) This is true even with Nocticula... Example; you can be her consort and her loyal concubine, which suprisingly she values you... Or you can be polite, but never bend the knee to her and at every opportunity covet your autonomy above everything... and she sort of almost falls in love with you... (though this last bit happens regardless of path, i'll admit). Or you can be crude brute i suppose. And most importantly, Demon is also best path to do Ascension ending. This is what i meant by playing like heir of Areelu as demon... It rewards passionate AND clever actions as well as outbursts for freedom. Honestly, i wish demon as a path let you interact with Areelu more instead and leaned on to this strenght. But i understand why they didnt, alot of people dislike Areelu, and it might have felt like 'DM forcing you to hang out with their pet character' to some. Pity that... I would have liked more interactions with her, she is so brilliant and incredible. I am looking forward for your VTMB review. I will watch your dark messiah one now... I played that game so many times back in the day. It was so meaningful yet also unfulilling if you played HOMM5 (specialy tribes of east). Actualy overall, if you invested at HOMM5's story in any amount, all awaited you was unfullfillment xD I blame Raelag and Zehir for it.
@@sethrougen8968 Haha I swear! The Zenos fanfics, gposes, everything else. Just seeing Juicy spray painted on his coat. Zenos fandom is amazing. Concerning but amazing. I think Endwalker wrapped the Garlean stuff up too quickly, never got to see that city in it's prime. It was nice but they built the Garleans up so much and they sort of went out with a whimper. I did like that in the end they changed their stripes and became more defenders than conquerors, but the spotlight wasn't on them nearly enough. I like that the demon path gives you that chance honestly. I'm not aware of most of what you said but the Arthas comparison helped me haha! Yeah I was sort of envisioning that emperor feel too, undead rising in gleaming gold and white, all dressed up so they're not rotting. I think my particular expectations were a little strong, and the generic undead look is to be fair, more than acceptable. But yeah the heavy handed bloodthirsty attitude at some points, very limited ability to impact Zach felt not only out of place, but as you said a DM forced alignment. So I haven't looked at too much for spoilers, but I am already aware of some of the demon leanings. I basically looked at how to romance Nocticula and thought "ah okay so restraint" haha! I generally steer away from crude brutes unless they're really good roleplay options. As for the Kingmaker stuff (vampire/reddit) I know nothing about it but I've kept it that way so if I ever play it it's all new to me. Areelu is brilliant, it's true. And I really didn't know she was disliked. For what it's worth, not having her be present all the time only built up her character in my eyes. She flits in and out so never loses her mystique. I too would have liked a bit more but what they did works so I can't complain. The ascension ending is probably one of the most satisfying payoffs in an RPG, so I will love to see that demon path to it. I tell ya I know nothing about HoMM really, but I do love DMM haha! I've seen bits of HoMM3 (I think?) but I was always an Age of Wonders 2 player more than HoMM. All I can say is thank you for watching even one of my videos let alone my DMM one too. And I hope I don't keep ya waiting too long for VTMB. I do love that game. Thank you.
You'll have to play again because Wenduag's True Romance path (guide needed unfortunately) was just about the best the game had to offer, and the performance of her quest conclusion was the best voice acting in a game I've ever heard (then I found out it is Amelia Tyler who is now the narrator for BG3, Malady in DOS2, Nyrissa in Pathfinder Kingmaker, wow what range). Wendu, I can fix her. You're fueling my need for a replay though. Also, big ups in my book for championing Mask of the Betrayer, that shit was the best ever
Holy smokes yeah okay that is some serious vocal range haha! Such a good voice actress. I thought she was killer as Malady, and I am still a little sad Larian's fantasy Xcom was canned, she would have made a great overseer. I will when I have time do another playthrough of this game, it's only because it is such a long game that I haven't already. But I was planning to try Wenduag's redemption arc as everyone appreciates her, so I'm looking forward to it! Aw I tell ya I love Mask, I just think it's timeless! Lastly let me add thank you! For watching my video and stopping to comment! I appreciate it I really do, thank you!
Hey chief! I rewatched your video as I'm trying to motivate myself to replay Wrath of the Righteous. Can you recommend some easy foolproof builds for Aeon and Swarm-That-Walks?
Ayy dude! I gotta catch up with your other comments but I saw this pop up so I figured I respond here first haha! I wish I could help I really do. I have an okay build I made for Angel/Bloodrager but it fell onto the backburner and it's now out of date. I am gonna pass the buck and say look up "CRPG bro Aeon." He has a few builds for aeon chars and all his builds are extremely meta so it's impossible to go wrong I think. The videos are all chaptered so you can find the right point as you level up as well, so you don't need to watch it all in one go. He'll also have other guides if you wanna play a different class and then just form the Aeon/Swarm around that!
I just recently picked it up on PS4, and god damn I'm glad I did. Got like 2 characters to act 5, and like 12 to act 3. There's just so many paths and options that seem so interesting. It can be so aggravating at times, but god damn does it perfectly fit DnD, so deep and complex, yet so simple after you learn it.
I think that's such a good description. Especially the aggravating but perfect fit part haha! That's a lot of characters as well holy smokes, and yeah you're absolutely right, the options keep it fresh. Even when some of them feel like flavour, there's more than enough substance. Glad you're enjoying the game! And I want to say thank you for watching and for stopping to leave a comment! I appreciate it, thank you!
So has someone that has never played the ttrpg and onky played bg3 and dos2. Would you recommend it? It seems fun but kinda complicated compared to these 2.
You're absolutely right! You can go in without a guide and just use preset companions, leveling up as you go. If your character build isn't working out you can change it by talking to an NPC (Hilor I think), or you can adjust the difficulty at any time to any degree so your build is more viable. Difficulty is only tied to combat so dialogue checks, puzzles etc, will still be the same and that element of challenge will be present. There's no denying it takes a lot more time to get into that bg3/dos2, and what you can do in combat is more restrictive. You can't throw items, shove people, but you have far more options in creating characters and giving them abilities. I would say with no knowledge going in, Daring difficulty is more difficult than BG3's highest difficulty. But with knowledge of how to build my character Core difficulty was easier, when it should have been even harder. Sorry for long reply, it's not an easy question to answer honestly haha! But I would still say it's worth a look, especially if it's on sale (it regularly is.) It's a complicated game but you can make it much simpler by picking what sounds good and fixing it later. Thank you as well for watching my video and leaving a comment! Really sorry again for long winded reply rofl
Rofl maaaaaaaan this hurts believe me, if only I had known I could do real time (Thank you for watching and commenting as well! I appreciate it, so thank you!)
Thank you! I'm gonna try and put out more videos that entertain, I might fail but it won't change how grateful I am for everyone who watches and leaves kind words. Thank you, I appreciate it!
Bought the game for 20€, did not expect much. Played it for 240+ in core on my first try and I am still not finished with my first play-trough. I think this is the best game I ever played.
Holy moly that's what I'm talking about haha! I'm impressed you took the plunge into core first that's great! And I'm glad you're still playing, that must be a truly epic character saga you're forging there! It has to be one of the best games I've ever played too Lastly, I want to quickly say thank you! For stopping by to watch my video and taking the time to comment as well. I really appreciate it! Thank you!
I totally forgot to thank you for you’re great video I love the part where you are telling your story and you’re specific outcomes. It feels like you and I made the same way but with different friends and different Decisions. I am a Tiefling who tries his best to be good and my love interest is Carlac. So you see we did something very different, I love it. I would love to see a story summary of yours
Thank you! Aw everyone having different stories is why I love games like this. A tiefling trying to keep on the straight and narrow sounds like a real conflict and a good story to tell! I enjoyed my Angel playthrough more than my Lich and I don't wanna spoil the whole thing but I'd summarise the in saying I romanced a character I killed as a Lich, and brought a character to justice that my Lich romanced. I think although those are small choices in the scope of the game's story, it's nice to see such a range of possibilities!
It is the same for me. As a casual player, I started at Core and found the game challenging. Now, 1000 hours later, this masterpiece of a game feels easy at Core. Hah.
If you pause every 6 seconds while it is set to Real time with Pause you can simulate turn based but all the combat participants execute their commands simultaneously.
I won't lie I didn't even know this was a feature. I also completely thought you meant manually pause every 6 seconds when I started reading haha! But that's a great idea, hot damn, I feel silly I missed that. I'll have to try that next time! And thank you for watching and leaving helpful advice as well! I really appreciate it, so double thank you!
Maaaan those torches sat in my bags the whole game I didn't know. I ended up using my Lich spells to just crush them so it worked out Thank you! For watching my long ass video and stopping by to comment, I really do appreciate it! Thank you!
Ayyy Axel! Thanks for coming back to watch and leave kind words, I really appreciate it and glad you enjoyed it! I know ya been waiting, I have Psychonauts on GoG ready but I have a few things I want to do first. I'll be honest re-editing all that stuff killed my passion for this a lot but I will get around to Psychonauts when I feel I can do it justice. A friend told me about that haha! I don't follow many TH-camrs so I dunno if it's good or bad for my 'viewcount'. I'm not looking to monetise so I haven't lost out or anything, all I really want is a chance for people to see this video so I hope that still happens. But I like a smaller audience because I get to talk to almost everyone, that's lovely :D Thank you for coming back even after so long!

after finishing baldurs gate 3, i'm looking for another crpg. comparing to bg 3, where this game stands? is it worth playing it? i really enjoyed the review and yout got a new subscriber. great job.
First off please let me say thank you so much for watching, for commenting kind words and also subscribing. I really appreciate it, and I hope I can make more videos you enjoy! Thank you! This is a very difficult question and I've tried to answer this before. They are both excellent RPGs and both for very different reasons. BG3 is a game where you can do anything. Pathfinder is a game where you can be anything. There's a lot of gameplay freedom in BG3 but only a handful of classes - open ended mechanics but limited choices. In pathfinder there are more classes, prestige classes, mythic paths, races, than I can count, but the gameplay freedom is far more limited to the ruleset - restricted mechanics but limitless choices. For example you can throw any potion in BG3 at anything. You can't do that in Pathfinder, unless you're an alchemist, in which case you can make a whole character around throwing things. I liked the story, in some ways it's a little more predictable than BG3 and in others it's got a lot more depth. They both have ups and downs narratively. The truth is I don't think I can really answer this satisfactorily, every time I try I fail. I enjoyed them both and I really was itching to get back to Pathfinder, but it is very different to playing BG3. I wish I could be more help I feel useless ROFL I am sorry
Man, this is making me want to dig back into this game. Great work. And do make sure you do a playthrough with Wendu. Spidercat girl is best and you can fix her.
Thank you! I tell ya I get recommended Wendu a lot haha! So when I play this again I think I may have to run with the spidercat. But I have heard only good things about her, I think i'd have done it already it's just not a game you can casually get back into. Let me also say thank you for watching my long video, and stopping by to comment! Thank you! I appreciate it!
Ayyy nice! I really hope you enjoy the game! I honestly think it's a new classic! Thank you as well for taking the time out of your day to watch my long ass video, and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it, so thank you!
I started this game on core. I DMed Pathfinder for 5 years. Thought I was sufficiently prepared. I was not. Kicked my ass initially but it was an amazing experience.
Ayyyy haha, well I feel a little better about my stumbling first playthrough! I'm glad to hear you had fun and I have a lot of respect for you DMing for all that time. I tried it briefly, my friend does it regularly, and yeah it can be an experience. So immense respect to you for going through all that work, thank you. And thanks for watching and commenting on my video too! I appreciate it I really do, thank you!
I love WotR, its everything good from kingmaker but better and with even more stuff. Playing it took me back to the days of playing neverwinter nights and baldurs gate, with the grand scale of everything and the different builds you can do, and also the option of going solo. The game does suffer from stat bloat though, but thats a feature of d&d based systems since forever, specially 3.5 based systems. Metagaming is basically required if you want to not explode horribly in hard or unfair difficulty, but thats not a bad thing in itself, just dont expect every character to be viable, like in baldurs gate 3, since your approaches to most stuff tend to be more limited. It really goes nuts with the stuff you can do though. The mythic paths really breathe life into the game. The trickster is easily my fave, since it lets you basically subvert both the plot and the mechanics for fun. The characters are also mostly pretty amazing too, with Regill and Daeran prob being my favorites, with some boring ones like the dwarf mercenary guy. In my current run im gonna try to tomance wenduag to see if she can be reedeemed, even though she seems very one dimensional at the start.
I think you're right, I'm of a mixed mind though. I hate button bloat and sometimes stat bloat. I think more choice over the stats that matter to you is important but sometimes ehhh. This isn't in the game but I remember somewhere playing an RPG I ran into a point where sleight of hand was required for a medicine check. That's too far if you ask me. And yeah there is definitely some bloat here. Which leads to, yeah, metagaming. It's not something I adore, but I don't mind it in Wotr (especially with the custom difficulty options) As you said though it makes up for it, especially with the mythic paths. I really want to try trickster when I come back to the game haha! That one looks like a lot of fun, and very strong. I tell ya I wish you luck with Wenduag! I would be surprised if you can't redeem her, you seem to be able to redeem/ruin almost everyone else I wanna say as well, thank you. For watching my long ass video and taking the time to leave a nice comment and share your experience with the game! I appreciate it! Thank you!
Ayyy Vulture! Yeah I'm sorry about that I had a bit to say rofl. I wanna also say thank you for coming back and commenting and watching, I say this a lot but I always appreciate it. Thank you! Hope ya like the video!
@@reallylatereviews so far i'm loving it, you did a good work bro ✨✨💓💓 About the game, i've never heard of it.. but what i saw here made me very intrigued. I might give it a chance someday, for now i'll put the game on my To Play list
Maaaaan thank you so much! For real, this is so nice to hear because I wanna highlight games that really make me smile so hopefully other people enjoy them! I think it's a game that even non-RPG gamers can get into, while having the option to be ridiculously hair pulling for RPG fanatics haha! They regularly put it on sale as well which is a practice I always support.
Ayyy well I am glad you're here! Thank you for watching my long ass video and taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it, so thank you! Also yeah, Regill is just the voice of absolute reason. I like that they didn't write the characters around him as absurdly dismissive of his viewpoint just because they're good aligned.
@@executecookie3014 i've heard most DMs try to kill the player characters. but it takes real skill to drive the players to want their characters dead to end their suffering. you are a true master
I tell ya I wish I had more time for them, I love them. But my tastes are really limited when it comes to crpgs, some I've tried I just put down after a few hours. So if you have any suggestions to broaden that I'd appreciate it! (I can't promise I'll make reviews of them because this video took fucking way too long rofl) I also appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and for commenting too, thank you!
I am an rpg maniac and I just heard about this game 2 days ago so thanks for the review. My biggest dislike is everything is way too zoomed out I barely see the outline of a character.
Hey you might want to look into Toybox or Free Camera (if that's still working) on Nexus Mods. I think they both might offer a way to solve this, but it has been a long while so I can't be sure. Sorry I can't be more help honestly. And nah thank you! For watching and taking the time out of your day to comment! I really do appreciate it, hope there are zoom solutions for you on there!
I‘m late to the party, just doing my first play through of WOTR (130h in and in Act 5, this game is so big!) my first crpg experience and it hit me hard, literally, there were sections where I had to switch to casual or story difficulty to make my awful builds work. Turns out picking feats that sound cool doesn’t create the best synergy (looking at you here dazzling display). Awesome review and quite true, I loved the companion quests in particular, I loved being a goody two shoes guy making life better for the ones around me. I‘m not big into romance usually, but the Arueshalae romance was so cute it gave me diabetes, yet mature :). Being Good is not boring at ALL, the angel path is so over the top righteous even the demons find it cheesy 😂. And being evil is actually… terrifying. Swarm…. I‘m dumbfound by the changes the paths make, from flavor and minor decisions to the whole vibe of the game. My only complaint is how long your good companions stick to you while you are clearly a genocidal megalomaniac, but eh, you can argue they don’t want to endanger the crusade by opposing you. PS: I got the achievement for defeating the water elemental in the shield maze on core and above by following a guide… you switch to real time and gather all companions in the middle square of the room before the boss and let your mc run circles in the room while Aggro‘ing the elemental and wait for your party to shoot 100 arrows into him till he slurps away. 😅
So you'll laugh but my core difficulty playthrough was built all around Dazzling Display rofl. But not the ability itself which is just awful, rather a series of feats dedicated to basically making it a passive effect. Eventually every time an enemy fell, dazzling display would go off, and then a whole slew of other stuff would as well. I still have to finish that build video but "crpg bro" on youtube is where I learned the basics of the Cornugon Smash shuffle haha, I don't remember which video though But I absolutely feel what you said, my first playthrough was very difficult. I just hoped my sorcerer and the companion auto-builds would be enough, they were barely :D I think if I hadn't of been a lich I would have really struggled I couldn't agree more about the mythic paths, they've spoilt me when it comes to player choice. Your companions do stick around don't they :P even if you are very sus. Oh I loved the angel path for that as well, it held nothing back in what they were going for. Very much cheese and one of the least boring 'good' storylines I've seen in a while. That water elemental strategy is clever! Stuff like this is great because it shows you can overcome fights with strategy not just builds. I wanna add lastly, thank you! This is a long video and it warms my heart to know it's being watched even after someone has got to act 5 haha! So thank you, for taking the time out of your day to watch and share your experience with the game because I love reading stuff like this, especially about this game! Thank you! Bless Arueshalae as well

Ayy so I played at first on a custom version of Daring I think. The second time around I played on Core difficulty. (Thank you as well for watching and commenting! I appreciate it!)
Haha glad someone saw it! :D Dodgson, we've got Dodgson here! (I just add quickly, thank you for taking the time to comment and for watching my long video! I really appreciate it, thank you!)
@@reallylatereviews I mean, it's the best movie ever, of course I noticed :) Thank you for making the video! It's long, sure, but you did an awesome job showcasing the game, and did it in a funny way.
You seem to enjoy comments a lot still.(Which is cool, as channels grow creators seem to get sick of them) So I might as well throw one here too because I think I did not, despite this being my first video of yours I saw.(I watched all besides the Easter one by now) If I did comment before and straight up forgot, sorry for the repetition. Its funny how much I love this game and yet seemingly can not play it with the same gusto that reviewers do. Maybe I just am more prone to burnout. I played it on release, got about halfway through on Angel Mythic(just before Chapter 4). Restarted it about 3 months ago and finished it a while later, around then I watched this review too. The game is by all rights everything I want from an RPG,(not counting immersive sim RPG I guess), mechanically engaging, choices matter, variety of paths, and a real incentive(and punishment) for playing to character. I do genuinely hope they make another one(presuming Rogue Trader is good). Game isn't perfect, encounter design is simply too dragged out and hit or miss, I hope they take a note from BG3 in design for "less is more" when it comes to encounter numbers. You could probably cut the encounters in this game in half and double the impact of resting and have a better game. If they do that maybe that can also be a justification to bring in the missing mechanics from Tabletop that seemingly are being left out because they slow the game down too much.(considering how accurate it is otherwise) Closer to tabletop is always better IMO. I also honestly felt like the over-world map was MUCH more engaging in Kingmaker(their first game), I found it too restricted and gated here for there to be much point.(I find chapter 3 kinda the weakest, at least ignoring Drezen and Mythic stuff) Crusade mechanics dont help with that either. I barely dragged myself to finish it, despite being engaged in the story and characters the whole time, and being deeply invested in tabletop pathfinder(I sometimes roll up characters just for the fun of it). By chapter 6 I was just wanting it to end(at least they had the courtesy to make the final dungeon pretty short). I am never one to say a game should be shorter, but maybe less filler. However, seeing all the reviewers who played through it twice or more, maybe the issue is with me. I have a hard-time doing anything casually, I either play consistently daily or I stop all together. Lastly I'll note, reading the campaign books this is based on after finishing the game is quite interesting/entertaining, seeing what changed and what is the same, why some rooms in the game are the way they are, its like a parallel universe. You would have LOVED the spooky swarm man in the book version.(though even then I only read the first 3 books/chapters, man maybe I am just a halfway kinda guy) If its TLDR, sorry. Tried compressing it, but eh.
I won't lie I struggle to keep up with comments lately as my real life is packed haha. But I always enjoy reading them, I never get sick of them honestly. I get 99% positive or constructive feedback. 1% is not enough to get sick of comments :P The issue is not with you at all. I've said this about The Witcher 3 in my Bayo video. CDProjekt Red themselves said the game was too long but I think it's more that the pacing goes out the window the moment you're done with the Bloody Baron. There's a load of side quests and open world things to collect, which sounds good. But I found the side quests to be mandatory in order to level up, and I struggled on the main quest until I leveled up. Meaning the importance of the main quest waned away until I didn't care anymore. The story cohesion falls apart for me the moment we say goodbye to the Baron. I've started Witcher 3 three times and every time I quit after the bloody baron quest ends. I hate that because the game looks fantastic. I think Pathfinder has "flawless narrative progression" I think I said haha, but it is undeniably long and there are inevitably areas where the pacing slows. And eventually these two things coalesece, and in my opinion, that happens right around act 3 just like you said. I've had a friend say the exact same thing. The narrative progresses perfectly, but the gameplay has pacing issues. In my first Pathfinder playthrough I took a few months break as I had to work on re-editing and reuploading all my videos, and after that I was burnt out so I barely touched pathfinder between November and January. My second Pathfinder playthrough for this review took a fraction of the time because I only read the new stuff. As much as I love Pathfinder, without that break around act 3 to act 4, I would have felt the burnout. I didn't bring this up for two reasons. Firstly because the story pacing was good and I didn't want my own attention span to tarnish my thoughts. Secondly, because taking that break invoked the opposite effect, I couldn't wait to get back into the game, ya know? I think what you said is true and it's a very heavy game to play consistently daily. And the biggest enemy to the narrative pacing is as you said, the encounters. Some dragged out beyond belief, some could just be deleted from the game tomorrow and wouldn't be missed. Although I will say they melted once I came back with a 'meta.' Weirdly I don't enjoy games that encourage meta building and stuff like that, but I did in pathfinder. I think I could just type these thoughts out forever rofl because I completely see where you're coming from. I've also heard the original campaign books are pretty good but yeah, different haha! I will admit I like how they changed Areelu, she sounded like small potatoes in the books and here she's a character I really like. Spooky swarm man sounds like a real laugh as well! I think my last thoughts would be sorry for the slow reply, and this is a game that being able to step away from and come back to helps immensely. This review in essence took me 6 months. I'm already editing my next one, after a week of gameplay so it's why I can't do RPGs very often! I've talked a lot but I wanted to say thank you because I do read every comment and I appreciate them all. Everyone takes time out of their day to watch my videos and then say something nice, it's the least I can do. And when someone comes back and watches more of my videos, it really means a lot to me. I can't thank you enough.
Ooh this is a really tough question. I'll say this, Pathfinder is superior to the original NWN2 campaign. There are some absolutely stellar moments in NWN2 like the hearing, some of the better companions, etc... But overall Pathfinder is better. However, Mask of the Betrayer tells one of the most unique and personal stories in any RPG. The only downside is that it is a direct sequel to the original campaign. Because of this Pathfinder is better than NWN2, but Mask of the Betrayer is without equal. Not dissing Pathfinder, I just think MotB is lightning in a bottle and I wish it was a standalone game. I've long forgotten most of the NWN2 companions except Neeshka. But for MotB I still remember Okku, Safiya, Kaelyn the Dove and Gann. The memories are faded but they're there. I'm sorry for droning on there, it's a loaded question haha! I'd love to know what you think also! And I want to say thank you for watching my video and leaving a comment. I always appreciate this, so thank you!
Thank you! I gotta tell ya the reason I keep making them is partly because I do enjoy it, and partly because of kind words like yours that encourage me to make more. So thank you again for taking the time to comment and for watching as well! I appreciate it!
This review makes me want to stop my BG3 run and take a shot at being the Knight Commander. The trouble is that there are almost TOO MANY options in this game that I dont know who I want to be.
With both this game and BG3, I took a break in the middle haha. For me that is how I play the longer RPGs, so I also understand the desire to try this while midway through BG3. There really are so many options and it is a little overwhelming at the start. I enjoyed the Angel path more than the Lich path, even though I had my heart set on the latter. So my advice is don't stress too much over your choice :D pick whatever sounds fun (I want to say as well, thank you for watching my video! And taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it! Thank you!)
Aw it's less the scope, more the hour it takes, most of which is waiting. The game does big battles well later but I feel the few big fights involving wave assaults, are designed to waste your time haha! That sounds harsh but it feels that way. But there are some large battles that don't feature any friendly NPCs fighting, no waves, and I really dig them. I'll also add, thank you! For taking the time to watch my long ass video! And for commenting as well, I really appreciate it, so thank you!
Ayyyy Looney! At last haha! I ended up having to render it all again to trim 30 seconds but I think it was worth it :P Thank you for always stopping my by videos dude, I always appreciate it and I just hope it's worth the wait haha! Edit: OH and I mentioned the few bugs I found so I think the game is fixed ;)
I did eventually bring Daeran but honestly the constant missing was such an issue. I just couldn't take those swarms out until I got some real spells. Daeran would have helped massively during that haha I also wanna say thank you! For commenting and watching my video! I appreciate it!
@@reallylatereviews A bigger thank you to you! I enjoyed my 1h and half spent watching it! But yeah, poison resist communal + healing counters swarms hard.
@@12345GranadaAyy thank you! And oh ya the communal resists, I loved those when I finally got them. I'm a terrible person though, I enjoyed hitting that mass heal whenever I could haha
Aw no maaaaaan. I can understand this though. There is a lot going on just on the base systems. If there is any way I can help get you started if you want to get back in, let me know. Also there are loads of builds for creating characters that just make any combat a breeze on any difficulty (search crpgbro) - that might not be what you want but it is one possibility. Sorry for long reply, thank you for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it! Thank you!
Thank you holy smokes just thank you! For watching twice no less! For subscribing and for leaving kind words. I really appreciate it, so thank you. And hot damn I love this game too haha it's great!

It's honestly how good it is that gives me so much hope for Owlcat's Warhammer game. Sci Fi RPGs mostly took a big nose dive I feel, so hopefully that'll change. Wrath will stand the test of time though that's for sure. I wanna add thank you as well for watching my long ass video! And stopping to comment, I appreciate it so thank you!
Aw I tell ya I'm not tackling a big RPG for a while now! This video took way longer than I planned haha! (6 months) I am doing some smaller games first, but the truth is I may do Kingmaker eventually. As predictable as it sounds, I'm playing Baldur's Gate 3 every now and then so it just makes sense to make that my next RPG video. Still all of this is a long way off, as that isn't late enough yet :P Thanks as well for watching and stopping to comment! It really appreciate it! Thank you and sorry for my long winded response rofl!
I appreciate this advice because I didn't mention it in the video and I really should have. I used it endlessly even on my own turns to speed up the animations. There were some fights I beat my head against longer than I care to admit so I started fast forwarding those turns haha. Thank you not just for watching my long vid, and for commenting but also leaving helpful advice, I really appreciate it! I'm gonna heart your comment so people see the gameplay tip. Thank you!
Please create more games like that! They should challenge people to spend hours in character creation, learn tactics, and read all of the character lines! The story length is just about perfect, though I would prefer a longer game with more customization.
I love that game I really do. Although I hate cursed surfaces I just hate them haha. It tends to mean every fight degrades into keeping holy fire up. Great game and story though! Let me also say thank you! For watching my video and commenting as well, I appreciate it! Thank you!
Damn I've heard good things about Solasta so I hope it's good fun! And that's wonderful to hear, I think you'll enjoy it if you're an RPG lover. I try not to overhype/sell but I try to have the energy of the video reflect how much I liked it. I can always recommend this game with no hesitation. Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to watch my video, I really appreciate it! So thank you!
Hey dude I have no idea why but your reply vanished before I could respond. I've managed to read most of it through my notification so I'll respond to that bit! Divinity Original Sin 2 was so good, I feel like it was a revival for top down RPGs. You made a good choice for a first CRPG! Yeah it didn't feel like they forced the dice down your throat quite so much in Divinity I think you mentioned Solasta needing some better writing? (this is from memory from what I saw on my phone haha) but I've heard that the writing lets it down. I'm sorry your comment got removed, it wasn't me! Have a good one!
Unfortunately as good as this game is, it bounced off me. I made it halfway through Act 2 before I decided to drop it because (and I can't believe I'm saying this), there are almost too many systems working at once. The Pathfinder ruleset is replicated here to the point I feel it hinders the game more than it helps it, and I began to detest just how much pre-buffing you have to do before almost every fight. I don't deny it's a good game though, I just think I prefer DoS and Pillars of Eternity as far as the recent fantasy CRPGs go. I might go back to it at some point in the future, but for now it will just sit in my library until then.
Oh definitely, the buffing up did start to grate on me I won't lie. I think automating that process is a must. Being able to queue up buffs into a one button macro is already the purpose of a mod (BuffBot), and I would like to see it come to the game proper. I do love the complexity of the systems, but it does highlight how not everything always translates well to a singleplayer videogame. I didn't use the mod myself but after 2 playthroughs I think I will be popping it in next time I really tried to get into Pillars and Pillars 2 but the pacing and combat talks me out of it. The world, story and characters are so good I just can't gel with the game. Lastly I want to say thank you for coming back to watch another of my videos,, it's a big ask to hope someone watches an hour+ video so thank you!
@@reallylatereviews Binging your videos right now... I dig your sense of humour and it's rare to see a long form video that isn't full of pretentious analogies and what not... Just a guy talking about a game he likes. Hope you go from strength to strength.

you should really play UnderRail, it's a post-apocalyptic cyberpunkish crpg and it's really good, but it's hard tho, to aliviate this, use the character building tool on the wiki at the left side of the site.
@@leninthebeaniesouhacker.2459 I tell ya I've tried it haha. But holy smokes you aren't kidding, there's a lot going on and the character building confused the hell out of me. "Less like a videogame and more like a deep conversation with your Dungeon Master" like 2 paragraphs in and I'm sold.

"you're a real one of course I did what I did"
@@dawidpotega882 Regill loves Devil and congratulates you for choosing it.
"I am Areelu Vorlesh"
"Oh... Hello.." 😂😂
Great video, your channel has become one of my favorites
Ayyy she got that energy I dig it! :D
But what can I say, holy smokes thank you!
Also I'm planning to chat to Arueshelae as an Azata too that just feels like a really nice path
I want to say thank you as well for watching my very long video!
Camellia is like his opposite, unless you enjoy freaky and crazy girls(that first and 2nd sęx scenes are quite wild tbh and i went for it even tho i was chaotic good/neutral demon because i freaked with anyone i could because i had demon of wrath and lust in me)@@reallylatereviews
No spoilers tho, but the flags were all there... open your heart to me:DDD
@@dawidpotega882 I mean Camellia's romance on the lich path is just the biggest karma hit in history rofl. Very satisfying

I think some of my style changed making this so I'm glad it's enjoyed :D
Thank you again for real, I'm gonna try to keep making good videos worth your time!
Azata Nonsense ™ is honestly so fun, it's the only path I ran twice.
Really, really well put together and written. Had a blast watching. Appreciate all the hard work dude!
Holy moly, thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video, and for leaving kind words as well. I always worry about my writing so hearing this helps me wanna make more, so thank you!
Really glad I found this video - I think your enthusiasm for the game really showed through and you did it justice. Can't wait to play Rogue Trader!
Thank you!
Fun fact about Nocticula she actually leaves the abyss! She becomes a goddess known as the redeemer queen. She is one of my favorite gifs in pf
This is pf lore I’m not sure if there is anything about it in game but I’d assume it’s not really mentioned
Well looks like I found a new great longform reviewer to watch. That triceratops segment was pure gold!
Haha thank you! I worried a bit about that running on so I tried to deliver it quickly. I also want to say thank you so much for watching my long ass video, and taking the time to leave kind words. It's lovely to hear and I appreciate it, thank you!
"Bloodline? I think B negative" aight im sold gonna buy this now during steam summer sale
@@reallylatereviews I appreciate your reply, watching your other reviews. Great job again mate.

"Bloodline? I think B negative." That earned a like and a chuckle
Ayyy haha! Thank you! (I liked that one too) and let me also say thank you for watching my long video, and stopping to comment even with my bad jokes. I do appreciate it, so thank you!
You mentioned CK3.... which just makes me think: this is what we need for a pathfinder 3. Imagine the mind-crushing complexity of Mathfinder and CK.
Dude...this is an awesome review.
Love your style.
Maaaaaan thank you! That's all I can say! Thank you for watching my long video haha, and taking the time out of your day to leave kind words. I really do appreciate it, so thank you!
Everytime i see it on Sale in Steam i hesitate to buy, just because of the TIME it would consume...
But man, you ALMOST convinced me 🙂Great Review!
Absolutely fair and in depth praise and criticism in equal measure.

i wasn't expecting such a good quality review from video with such low view count. What a pleasant surprise it is. Have my comment for youtube algorithm and like for just for you x)

This was a fantastic review. I've had the game in my library for a while and was thinking about playing it over Christmas, and this convinced me to dive into it. Thanks!
Thank you so much! It's lovely to read kind words and I tell ya this is definitely a game that could tide you over an entire holiday! I hope you enjoy it and if not I'm happy to take the blame haha
But in all seriousness, thank you for watching and Merry Christmas!
The water elemental part is so relatable... find elemental, get clapped, explore more, come back, get clapped again.
Haha! I'm glad it wasn't just me! Although thanks to editing magic I didn't show all the other times I got smacked about in that first dungeon.
Thanks as well for watching my very long video, and taking the time to comment! I appreciate it!
Pathfinder: WotR is absolutely an underrated gem and Rogue Trader is coming out Dec 7th! This review was a delight, you earned my sub.
Ayyy thank you so much! Holy smokes I hope I can keep making videos worth your time! And I am excited for Rogue Trader aw, it has been a good time lately for RPGs! I feel like the genre needed an new infusion for a few years now (edit here: and although underrated I think Wrath is getting a second wind with BG3 shining light on the genre again!)
Also, thank you for taking the time to watch my long video! And for leaving kind words, I really do appreciate it! Thank you!
It was my pleasure :)@@reallylatereviews
I firmly believe they could create some sort of hybrid, fast turned based, where you can take as long as you like on your turn and enemies all get to act together if they have adjacent turns being given 6 seconds of real time to do it etc
I like that idea a lot. I wish XCom had a system like this. I really do prefer turn based games but the worst part is waiting and speeding up animations takes something out of the experience. Gosh I like that idea, that would be neat.
Please let me also say thank you! For watching and commenting! I appreciate it, so thank you!
"I am a half elf sorcerer lich riding a triceratops" XDDDDDDDD
Thank you!
I'm so glad I found this gem of a channel. Thank you for your work
Ayy holy smokes, I'm glad you like the videos!

Thanks for the video! c:
Haha aw I remember spending ages getting sims looking just right! It takes time ya know! :D
Bismuth is the best bless him!
Holy smokes what a review!. Awesome dood thanks.

Rofl oh she is such a nightmare. I think they were trying to do a Mordin from Mass Effect thing but it just backfired. To their credit, back then Bioware knew you can't create a socially eccentric character without heart or soul. Or they're just that asshole you don't talk to
All I can say as well is thank you! Rhank you for taking the time out of your day to watch my video, and stopping to leave kind words. I say it a lot but I really do appreciate it, and it helps me want to make more! Thank you!
Watching this after my first run of act 1 and seeing all the side bosses and companions i somehow missed is hilarious and devastating.

@@reallylatereviews Of course, its a great video! tbh ive wanted to write up a detailed breakdown of my thoughts and opinions on the game for a long time, but its far too daunting I've yet to get around to it.

Ds9 is just awesome, you've got a +1 Greed bonus to your subscriber count today friend!
Also I want to say a few things about that game that may or may not be helpful:
1- toybox and bubble buffs.
That sounds very useful because I built up too much muscle memory on Daeran clicking all the buffs in order :D
Skald sounds pretty good actually and I see them recommended in build videos a lot!
If I can do this I'm happy :D
I agree as well, I love BG3 don't get me wrong.
Handy for skill checks ;)
All that aside, Wenduag is supreme, all hail spidermom.
It's also in the brimorak house which destroyed me about 10 times in a row
I am definitely taking Wenduag for my next playthrough, I've heard nothing but good things about spidermom and I think she'd get on well with a demon PC
Also thank you! For coming back to watch my videos, and for taking the time to comment, I really do appreciate it, thank you!

This game is amazing. Bg3 production value with this games balancing and choices with character building would be the ultimate crpg
Of course BG3 is amazing, I was having a lot of fun, but I just cant stop playing Pathfinder lol
I usually find reviews that are too optimistic to be average (because they tend to blindly love a game), but omg, the way you described stuff felt like as if it was me shouting to my friends: DUDE I GOT THIS ANGEL POWER AND I DESTROYED THE ENEMIES, IT WAS SO AMAZING I CAN BARELY EXPLAIN WHY.
Just some extra stuff:
- I'm using a dungeonetics website to see the map of the world.
Thank you!
@@reallylatereviews I already got hard fights in Act 3, that took me a long time to beat haha
Im new to CRPGs and Im enjoying them thanks to BG3 and divinity 2 :)
Your script was really good.
Ended up watching the whole thing, fully awake, though 😄
Thanks for the entertainment, great review!

I discovered your channel, because of your Dragons Dogma Review.
Maybe Cyberpunk 2077 which was such

10/10 would watch this review again.
Holy smokes thank you! I mean it's over an hour so I'm grateful anyone would watch it once haha!
For real though, thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch it and leave kind words, I really appreciate it. Thank you!
I went into Pathfinder WoTR on a blank slate,
I saw Mandalore recommend it and it happens to be on 75% discount and say "well, I got free time" almost 300 hours later, I gotta say... money well spent
Grease part is so relatable. Although mine was not grease, but pitfall. Seelah getting sucked into those was so common during Act 0 & Act 1
I really agree with the money well spent thing haha. It's some of the best I've ever spent, if I didn't enjoy making videos so much I probably would have played this a third time by now rofl
Oh Pitfall got me through that gargoyle section but yeah, Seelah does not care where she goes haha
Let me also say thank you for watching my long video! And for commenting too! I appreciate it, thank you!
This was great!
Do do a DOS2 as well.
I tell ya I love DOS2 I really do but I'm taking a lil' break from RPG videos rofl. They take 4-6 months without fail :P Maybe one day!

Love that game
(Also I can't believe he isn't coming back from the edge of space, I refuse to believe it)
@@reallylatereviews That gorgeous man wrecked me harder then of his mechinations with his final breath...
(funny enough, i sort of later did via mods and flag modifications and whatnot)
There is a reason, vampire sub-path is frequently talked in kingmaker subreddit, though, i dont know if you are a visitor there...

Ayy thank you! For watching and taking the time to leave kind words, I appreciate that! Thank you!

I totally forgot to thank you for you’re great video I love the part where you are telling your story and you’re specific outcomes. It feels like you and I made the same way but with different friends and different Decisions. I am a Tiefling who tries his best to be good and my love interest is Carlac.
Hah.

after finishing baldurs gate 3, i'm looking for another crpg. comparing to bg 3, where this game stands? is it worth playing it? i really enjoyed the review and yout got a new subscriber.
Another stellar video!

It's not something I adore, but I don't mind it in Wotr (especially with the custom difficulty options)
As you said though it makes up for it, especially with the mythic paths. I really want to try trickster when I come back to the game haha! That one looks like a lot of fun, and very strong. I tell ya I wish you luck with Wenduag! I would be surprised if you can't redeem her, you seem to be able to redeem/ruin almost everyone else

I think it's a game that even non-RPG gamers can get into, while having the option to be ridiculously hair pulling for RPG fanatics haha! They regularly put it on sale as well which is a practice I always support.
YT algorithm brought me here and it was a good recommendation. Regill FTW, this is some next level of being based.

I also appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and for commenting too, thank you!
PS:
I got the achievement for defeating the water elemental in the shield maze on core and above by following a guide… you switch to real time and gather all companions in the middle square of the room before the boss and let your mc run circles in the room while Aggro‘ing the elemental and wait for your party to shoot 100 arrows into him till he slurps away.
I still have to finish that build video but "crpg bro" on youtube is where I learned the basics of the Cornugon Smash shuffle haha, I don't remember which video though
But I absolutely feel what you said, my first playthrough was very difficult. I just hoped my sorcerer and the companion auto-builds would be enough, they were barely :D I think if I hadn't of been a lich I would have really struggled
I couldn't agree more about the mythic paths, they've spoilt me when it comes to player choice.
Thank you! Maaaaaaan thank you! That means a lot so thank you! And yeah aw it's one of my favourites, Jurassic Park is just a classic for the rest of time :D
You would have LOVED the spooky swarm man in the book version.(though even then I only read the first 3 books/chapters, man maybe I am just a halfway kinda guy)
If its TLDR, sorry. Tried compressing it, but eh.
I won't lie I struggle to keep up with comments lately as my real life is packed haha. But I always enjoy reading them, I never get sick of them honestly. I get 99% positive or constructive feedback. 1% is not enough to get sick of comments :P
The issue is not with you at all.
Neverwinter nights 2 vs Pathfinder which is better?

So my advice is don't stress too much over your choice :D pick whatever sounds fun
(I want to say as well, thank you for watching my video! And taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it! Thank you!)
I find it funny that people always complain about giant battles in turn based mode. Those are always my favorite battles and moments.

I didn't use the mod myself but after 2 playthroughs I think I will be popping it in next time
I really tried to get into Pillars and Pillars 2 but the pacing and combat talks me out of it. The world, story and characters are so good I just can't gel with the game.
