Hey y'all I went through some of my dad's notes when you do your fence. Keep this in mind cows will not go over or thru something if they can't see the ground on the other side . We did a fence out of dead trees just piled up around the property. It's cheap and it works . Stampeding cattle will run right thru a barbed wire fence. If a bull starts rubbing against your building run him off he will knock it down. Just sharing info .
You have no idea how difficult it is to catch the volume to prevent the booming music from waking everyone. Loved the music at the end. How about some nice soft jazz in the background?
Sometimes you learn the best thing by making mistakes. just started watching your videos and enjoying them. keep up the good work, cant wait to see those containers on those footing.
They can and do jump fences and cattle guards, which means you may have to sell or put him in the freezer! My neighbor moved one he had to his ranch outside Houston from Huntsville where I was across from his ranch there.
Can’t wait for the next video guys, you are doing exactly what I want to do and will in a year or so! One thing, can you give us more than one video a week 😂 one ain’t enough! 😉
@@life.uncontained Love your channel & I do have a question or two for you guys. 1.) How big around (Diameter wise) are your tubes (footings) to form the foundation? 2.) How many inches square is each rebar form that fits inside the tube? B. How far apart are they spaced not counting the one 2" above ground level. (and how many between the bottom and top)?
Put you a strand of electric fence wire around the inside of that fence with a solar charger. That will keep him away from the fence. If he can get to it , he will go over, under or through it. I've seen them put their head under the bottom strand and rip 7 T posts out of the ground.
You guys are using Pythagorus' Theorem to get those square corners (the square of the hypotenuse, i.e., the longest angle) is equal to the sum of the square of the other two sides)! Jus' sayin...By the way, really enjoy the videos and watching you both learn how to build your own "dwelling!"
i assume u have gotten better at squaring... but if not... after getting ur lenth and width... cross measure untill same maearment,,, easy. but remember if your using steel it expands in the sun, changing ur measurments. ok off to ur next vid :) tx guys
great stuff ya'll ty! question! did ya'll have the containers delivered, then after you set your pilings, did ya'll get the same delivery folks out to place them on the pilings? ty!
Actually, your solar panels are hating the heat just as much as you are, but they're pretty happy with the visible light part. (Yea, weird how that works...)
Does anyone else have to keep turning the volume down when the music starts and then back up again every time they talk? Helpful hint...please turn the music down in the editing process. Thank you. Nonetheless you two are doing an amazing job on the build.
Late to the party but ok hopefully you get this. If you don't like the snakes in and around your house and on your pond. Get some Ducks and or some Geese. They are natural born enemies of snakes. And the Ducks and Geese usually win the fight. Though Geese can be a little unruly, they crap everywhere and have been known to bite people hands and fingers. But they do a good job at controlling snakes.
İ need to lift one corner of the house then put some support underneath the footing. My question is, after lifting up the house, how am l supposed to fill the gap between footing and soil? Or it should be ok just the way it is? Can you guys gimme some ideas please thank you.

Hey guys, love the channel. My wife and I are located here in Texas also and are getting ready to start the container journey. This season has been the worst tornado season since we have been here for the last 3 years and we cannot stay here any longer with the thought that we could be the next victim from tornado tragedy. So this is why we are going with a container home. We were going to do a barndominium but we seen some recently get vaporized by tornados and that changed our whole direction. I am learning a lot from ya'll and just want to Thank you for sharing your journey. Check us out on our channel while we build and laugh at all our mistakes that I am sure will be many. What part of Texas are you in by the way? We are in North East. Stay safe. Peace
Were the foundation posts and footings designed by an engineer? Seems like overkill for Texas, were preformed concrete foundation pads and pressure treated posts would be less work.
love these videos - i somehow am watching them in a pretty scrambled order but i play them on my second monitor whilst working from home- you guys are amazing! - do you guys have an email i could contact you on please? Thanks :)
Hello if your not going to do anything to your roof and want to keep your containers some what cooler go and check out henry's tropical paint it will keepyour containers a lotcooler hey it's only asuggestion

That's how you learn can't be scared to make Mistakes. Once you learn it you will know it for ever. Aloha
Creative video loved the solar panel face and the frog survey.

Use mothballs on your property for the night slithers (snakes) it works ;)
Welcome to Texas hopefully you love it here more then us Texans.
You need some SNAKE-B-GON from the store. Or get some mothballs. That stuff works!!! Trust me!

Very cool, I’m really wanting to see how the shipping container gets connected to the footing?
22 LR with shot shell does wonders on snakes.
Very nice🌹🌹🌹
I'm a little late to your channel so if you answered this already apologies. How did you come up with 5 feet between the containers?
Do you have a video that explains your solar panel set up and where you purchased you solar panels
Actually, your solar panels are hating the heat just as much as you are, but they're pretty happy with the visible light part. (Yea, weird how that works...)
Watching it from the start in 2020. . . You should put ads to your old videos and monetize it!

Cows do jump fences! I known I have some.
You just served the frog to the snakes 🐍 😀
What are the dimensions of those footers? How deep are they?
Good job guys but why didn’t you go a bigger distance between your containers
Suuuperrrr!!!! New right here!!!!! 😍🙏🏻
Good job.
Love Respect and help all animals if you can.
Nice

Ok, now I’m starting to wonder which one of you is doing the editing? Spencer seems to be getting into the groove of this whole TH-cam thing.

Loving the videos guys. Just wondering is this your farm or grandparents?

Was wondering if you were able to obtain a tax rebate on your Solar System/Panels, or any of the government subsidized incentives available?
Yall should have taken the turtle lol. 😢
What company did you buy the connexes from, have ph.# for them. Did you pick the connexes out yourself ? Thanks for the video s.
Your in Texas now you'll have to learn the diff between Steers, Heifers or the Bull.
we had brahman bulls that could jump 6ft steel pen fences, just as well the prius is no longer, live on Honda CRV

Thank you Harley for the suggestion but we will have a roof on the containers. 😀
Does any of this stuff have to be inspected along the way, or is Texass just lawless?
What part of Texas
So hot even the camera fainted...lol!
So is this Grandpa's land?
@life Uncontained: who owns the cows?? are they yours??
Add links to your music. 🤗😉
how did you size your solar system
CHARGE ON KNIGHTS!!
💚
I'm disappointed that the frog choice wasn't #1 and then #3 lol
If you're that scared of a frog, I'm not sure how you're going to make it living on that property, lol
Will Patterson it wasn't the frog she was afraid of. It was injuring or killing the frog and having to see it that she was cringing over.
What city of texas do you guys live?
I think you should have chased her with the frog
what rebar size did you use?
Would love to know the song name y'all used for the re-bar cut shot
👍👍
how were u able to make right angles?
Measure 3 feet from the corner, then measure 4 feet in the other direction at right angles (approx), the hypotenuse will be 5 feet
what about the Tesla batteries you've got everything else listed
Because everything came from altE store and the batteries we randomly found on eBay. 😁
Hmm, seems you deleted videos before this one. Why?
I can't get the links to work. Goes to alte website, but says page not found and offers option for homepage.
Gimi H Thank you so much for pointing that out. It was just a simple error on my end.
4 ft barbed wire fence is nothing for a bull to jump if he wants on the other side.
are ur shipping containers hc
