1:52 and 2:31 , well played! I have the Chilidog (hot dog) challenges done for Chun-Nan but those are little things I couldn't do! Well played sir, I applaud you!
@SnowBoarderX94 there're some section in this game where you can get tripped, Sonic will be slowed down and won't be about to boost/jump for a few seconds, make him very easily to slam into enemies or bottomless pits.
i remember falling off at one point & i was like im gonna die screw-it imma go out in style. i hit the boost & ran on water & completed the stage. thank you unleashed for raising the bar for all future sonic games.. sigh if only 06 was like this it would have been phenomenal.
If you watch the gauge during the videos, you can see that they actually DO lose rings by the second. You need to continually get rings to maintain the boost shield.
Looking back on this game makes me realize how amazing the day stages were compared to the night ones, heres hoping that Colours turns out the same as these levels.
@Lilweezy3601 I heard about Sonic Generations, and heard its going to include more side scrolling, but i like the style of gameplay in sonic colors and sonic unleashed. I think its exciting how they are able to make sonic move around at such incredible speeds and make it fast paced just how sonic is suppose to be. Even so I cant wait to play sonic generrations
@jzzy107 I don't let the Night stages put me off, Sonic Unleashed is by far the most graphically beautiful Sonic game, and its worth playing the night stages to experience that beauty
The sun stage is up top where you find the air dash shoes, you air dash across to it. If you DID already do that and still can't access it, you need more sun medals.
@Crash5161 I always thought it would be awesome if the nights were just an addition to the day, but influenced by night elements. Such as: In Adabat, the tide could be different or something.
@vgman94 Of course, if it were another game it would be cool, but since it's sonic, it makes no sense. The fact is that I've never replayed the werehog acts. I just try to finish them as soon as possible for the only reason of unlocking the day acts.
@eateroftheflame yea the ps2 version is little slower and you cant hold the boost button down you have to keep mashing the button. sonic unleashed was the reason i got a ps3.i know it was on the 360 too but i really dont like the 360 controler.
sonic has to be one the best old games ever i remeber those old days. old nintendo. or even sega but i didnt have sega back than. played it at cousins lol
One of my favorite sonic games to mr this game was the best at giving u a sense of how fast he can really go pure awesomeness good job only can hover a damn A on this stage Smh
Very nice qustion dude! Well he'd outrun it but the yell would continuously attempt to catch up to him. (Much like the rings in this game when you boost past them).
i liked how they brought back the option to collect the chaos emeralds back in generations . it was my favorite part about sonic. if you guys really want a chaos emerald collecting rush, play sonic advance 1,2, and 3.
@SweaterSwagg I don't know if Colors is as good as Unleashed though, but that's not really for me to decide, since I don't really like the Wii much (the wiimote probably has to be the worst controller I've ever held.. although I know you can use a GC/Classic controller for the Wii version of Unleashed, you can't for all games.)
I really had a hard time trying to get pass through that section @ 2:48. Plus, I'm still having some trouble with the light speed dash. Is the light-speed dash a move I have to unlock or I get it automatically?
The 360 levels are longer but are not better designed. That's one thing that's been commented on a lot. Also the Wii version has extra levels. About 6 or 7 day extra levels for each continent and 2 or 3 night levels.
@vgman94 There isn't unpredictability since one of Sonic's features is replay. All the acts are so replayable. Each time you try to avoid the obstacles you already know to reach the goal as fast as you can. And ok, maybe not at the same speed, but always near the same level, like they did in "Colors". They changed optionally the gameplay without slowing the game rythm so much. THAT fits better Sonic. Not some Rachet n' Clank/Crush Bandicoot/any other platformer Werehog like acts.
@LucarioDXAuraStorm no they made it for wii and ps2 is because most people have a wii or a ps2 than and xbox 360 and ps3 so it wouldn't be fair that folks have to buy a xbox or ps3 just to play 1 game
lol question to those science-gurus out there... If Sonic runs at (or faster) than the speed of sound... If you yelled something, and Sonic ran in the direction of your yell...Would he hear it through the whole duration of his run?
If nobody minds can they tell how good this game is i rented it for wii and it was great but now im getting it for the 360 and i want to know if it's funner or harder. From my opinion after comparing the wii and 360 the 360 looks a lot of fun
Don't u think the boost kind-of ruins the game? Like there should be some kind-of catch to it ya know? Like loose rings per second or can't just burst through robots like Jesus or somethin. I think they should change that. It would make it moe challenging. Please give me your opinions too!
@NikoBelic4 ok, but i played the game , and i found nothing wrong with the controls. i know that colors had been improving the controls, i'm not trying to insult you or any thing, i just think this game is highly underrated and is the step in the right direction for future sonic the hedgehog games. would you agree with me on that?
I wonder if this game is pitted against Mario Galaxy... Awesome music and Sonic travels around the world, Mario travels around the universe. And both extremely fun!
i'm in chun-nan at the moment. all around the village the people are complaining about robots being in the outskirts of the village? where do i go and what do i do? does it have to be day or night? that's my current mission AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO!!
@rousesolo I didn't know china wall have loop, 2 floor, a dragon, have some serious steep, and a bunch of free gold ring floating around?! man how long was I drunk O.O
@vgman94 I must admit that the Werehog parts aren't just there. There are A LOT of combos to learn, and some puzzles to solve... but that's it. The song is cool but get always interrupted by the SAME combat track each time you face an enemy. It's SO annoying. And the enemys aren't anything from another world. Their design is vague and sometimes the camera doesn't help much.. Besides, acts leasts like half an hour sometimes with the same procedure. That's monotonos. So it's not a good combatgame
I noticed that Sonic moves really really fast in the Xbox and PS3 versions. Is it that or does Sonic move comparatively slower on the PS2 and Wii? Besides, i rather take the PS2 over anything else.
I have been whinging about not having the XBOX 360 version of this game for about 3 years, but now I've realised something. I should be greatful that Sonic Unleashed is for the Wii. Te levels may not have been as good as this, but it's still highly addicting and fun. (Yes, I might get thumbs down for this comment but I don'nt mind.
@MegaGlassguy The reason people don't like change in Sonic is because it's usually not done right. Say in Sonic Adventure 2 you're blazing through City Escape and having a blast until the next level, where you're suddenly stuck in a slow moving robot that plays nothing like a Sonic game. It's not that people don't like change, it's that the change should enhance the existing gameplay instead of forcing you to do side things. You're right about Pokemon though since it changes less than Madden!
I have to give props to the ppl who did the S-Ranks....BRAVO!!! how do you do it? it looks hard...I want this game so bad right now.....lol keep it up! SONIC RULEZ!!!
@statealchemist100 Yeah it's cool. I need to get my disc fixed. But I might just buy it again. It's only £10 in Gamestation so meh. No biggie. All the fast stages are awesome and I do like the Werehog stages too. But they can be a bit too long
yeah, guess you're right, they're the only ones that are actually worth playing through, since they're more faithful to the old sonic bosses (eggman controls them)
Yeah, i read some comments that pointed out that IGN rated Sonic the Hedgehog 06 higher than Sonic Unleashed. I noticed that the reviewer of IGN for Unleashed said the Day stages were good but the, he said that the controls were unresponsive and he jumped off a ledge at that point in the video. I found the day stages to be fast exciting and very complex. I don't know what these reviewers were smoking at the time. Yeah, thanks. Everyone enjoys some game, although, no one can love every game.
I enjoyed the werehog levels for the most part '-' Only thing I truly hated about it was in the last werehog part of a stage, you have to fight two giant club shadows (not sure of official name) and I've been stuck so they just jump over and over and over again, got knocked over once, and went full health to 0 because it wouldn't let sonic get back up (Hit A, not enough time to jump again, lay down, the wave would hit you still, etc)
@Lilweezy I could care less Generations. The game is just speed, no more. This game had speed, combat and platforming and optional exploration. Not to mention upgrades for both the Werehog AND Sonic, hundreds of collectibles, stuff to buy including a TV, book case and record player which enabled you to listen to in-game music, view in-game cutscenes and read enemy and character bios. The story was good as well. Sonic Unleashed was the pinnacle of Sonic. Generations just doesn't have the magic.
@mhj0808 That turn if Empire City. Its just challenging not impossible nor it is a level design flaw. Tip: Not boost while drifting. That'll fuck you over.
This game is better than I was lead to believe it was, initially. Unerrated, and the visuals are amongst the best this generation IMO.
I love when he say "GO!!!" when he enter in boost mode. :D
The music of this was insanely cool! :D
You don't lose rings, you lose the rings "power"
:P
1:52 and 2:31 , well played! I have the Chilidog (hot dog) challenges done for Chun-Nan but those are little things I couldn't do! Well played sir, I applaud you!
Hyeah! WHOOOOOOO!
I like it when he says that, just goes to show how much fun he has using his powers!
@SnowBoarderX94 there're some section in this game where you can get tripped, Sonic will be slowed down and won't be about to boost/jump for a few seconds, make him very easily to slam into enemies or bottomless pits.
i just love that little straight way to the finish
Dang man I remember watching this back in 2012 all those memories 😭😭
i remember falling off at one point & i was like im gonna die screw-it imma go out in style. i hit the boost & ran on water & completed the stage. thank you unleashed for raising the bar for all future sonic games.. sigh if only 06 was like this it would have been phenomenal.
only after watching this do i truly appreciate the geniuses who are making the mod for sonic generations...
the dragon road is also one of my favorites yet my run was a C because I died before the end w/ the second firework
cool didn't know there was a mod for generations to add the unleashed levels, ty for the info... I love you.
thank you 4 this imo so far this is the best day stage
"FEELING GOOD!"
If you watch the gauge during the videos, you can see that they actually DO lose rings by the second. You need to continually get rings to maintain the boost shield.

@jzzy107 I don't let the Night stages put me off, Sonic Unleashed is by far the most graphically beautiful Sonic game, and its worth playing the night stages to experience that beauty
@jzzy107
Which is why we have Colors :D
in retrospect, the were-hog stages aren't THAT bad, they just don't belong in Sonic...

Whoa dude, you're a machine!! I love Chun-Nan!
the great thing about sonic games is that they are fun to watch and play!
@eateroftheflame yea the ps2 version is little slower and you cant hold the boost button down you have to keep mashing the button. sonic unleashed was the reason i got a ps3.i know it was on the 360 too but i really dont like the 360 controler.
Me too! Takes care of my bus problem.
If I was that fast I can run to school & probably be there in 1:00.
LIFE WOULD BE SO COOL FOR ME!!
sonic has to be one the best old games ever i remeber those old days. old nintendo. or even sega but i didnt have sega back than. played it at cousins lol
@newjavbaa123 You need a very well timed jump and air boost to reach it, the medal in it was one of the hardest to get for me.
i liked how they brought back the option to collect the chaos emeralds back in generations . it was my favorite part about sonic. if you guys really want a chaos emerald collecting rush, play sonic advance 1,2, and 3.

Is the light-speed dash a move I have to unlock or I get it automatically?
There's a rumor that this will be out for generations dlc, along with Ice Cap, Hidden Palace and Starlight Carnival.
super awesome man how did you still run with that rock in the way I .just so amazing!
The 360 levels are longer but are not better designed. That's one thing that's been commented on a lot. Also the Wii version has extra levels. About 6 or 7 day extra levels for each continent and 2 or 3 night levels.
he has a point there i love this stage its the best the graphics are the bomb love the music and every thing elece about this game!!!
the only way to know if ur PS3 is play-back compatible(or w/e) is to check the box for the label "Limited Edition"
@vgman94 There isn't unpredictability since one of Sonic's features is replay. All the acts are so replayable. Each time you try to avoid the obstacles you already know to reach the goal as fast as you can.

3:03-05 "Whoo!" for the Fireworks
@LucarioDXAuraStorm no they made it for wii and ps2 is because most people have a wii or a ps2 than and xbox 360 and ps3 so it wouldn't be fair that folks have to buy a xbox or ps3 just to play 1 game
lol question to those science-gurus out there...
If Sonic runs at (or faster) than the speed of sound...
If you yelled something, and Sonic ran in the direction of your yell...Would he hear it through the whole duration of his run?
it cracks me up that sonic can do this without breaking a sweat
@MarzX1802 If you dont mind the loading screens you will be good. Also sonic is no where near as fast as he is in unleashed.
you can also jump and boost before the first QTE to get to the same place
If nobody minds can they tell how good this game is i rented it for wii and it was great but now im getting it for the 360 and i want to know if it's funner or harder. From my opinion after comparing the wii and 360 the 360 looks a lot of fun
one of the best songs in sonic unleashed
I just love to hear those footsteps XD
thanks man now i can make s rank on this i was wondering where the short cuts were n and i'm going to beat your time while at it .
Don't u think the boost kind-of ruins the game? Like there should be some kind-of catch to it ya know? Like loose rings per second or can't just burst through robots like Jesus or somethin. I think they should change that. It would make it moe challenging. Please give me your opinions too!

I like the way sonic's feet sound when he runs when in sonic generations you dont hear his feet as much
I wonder if this game is pitted against Mario Galaxy...
In terms of pure gameplay, which version is better? Cause the two versions are different, and someone says the xbox/ps3 levels are sloppily made.
i miss this game. havent played in over 3 years :C
@rousesolo I didn't know china wall have loop, 2 floor, a dragon, have some serious steep, and a bunch of free gold ring floating around?! man how long was I drunk O.O
Well loosing bass while boosting makes things seem more realistic and brings out the feeling of spped.
@vgman94 I must admit that the Werehog parts aren't just there. There are A LOT of combos to learn, and some puzzles to solve... but that's it. @T0B0KKE Yeah but I like the original rooftop run as opposed to the one in generations.
I have been whinging about not having the XBOX 360 version of this game for about 3 years, but now I've realised something. I should be greatful that Sonic Unleashed is for the Wii. Te levels may not have been as good as this, but it's still highly addicting and fun.

@DanZord1 Sonic colors also had more 2.5d locations.
OMG Sonic is so fast in this game. This has to be his fastest game! I think I'll get it.
@jzzy107 there could have been night stages, just no werehog. imagine the day stages with a night theme to them
I love the music to this.
I have to give props to the ppl who did the S-Ranks....BRAVO!!! how do you do it? it looks hard...I want this game so bad right now.....lol keep it up! SONIC RULEZ!!!
You happen to be one of those people, who happen to be different from the cliches. I like that.
@statealchemist100
Yeah it's cool. I need to get my disc fixed. But I might just buy it again. It's only £10 in Gamestation so meh. No biggie.

@rousesolo its the you-make-everything-look-so-easy guy that made the video!!!!!!
best gameplay of sonic ever made!
AH! I accidently gave this 4 stars when I meant to give it 5!
Sorry!
@MegaGlassguy thanks :D
@Lilweezy I could care less Generations. The game is just speed, no more. This game had speed, combat and platforming and optional exploration. if their was a different dlc, i hope it would have this, radical train, egg fleet, and sky chase zone
@Crash5161 Maybe we'll get that in Sonic Generations.
0:49 it takes proper timing, but if you get it right you can boost on that dragon piece.
To be honest, I don't see how those alternate paths that has to be noticed by really paying attention would add to the fun if any.
this is like my favorite stage the music is awesome lol
chun-nan ...
everybody loves it
well done...i love the x box 360 (ps3) version
@dottio726 now i get what your saying but still when you're not boosting it comes back around and still you get it
@SweaterSwagg the wii version wasn't terrible. It Just wasn't as good as it could have been...
Np. do u hav a xbox 360? if u do, could u do a review on that ver. too?
But when your going fast, does music get louder, stay the same, or softer?
you are a beast with this stage
you played this lvl like a champion. when i played, i just played to get it done. i plan on getting S ranks on everything after i beat the game though
That moment when you just realized Sonic ran the entire Great Wall of China.
man u deserve the s rank cause ure awsome
I remember watching this when I was 9.
has anyone noticed how awesome the graphics are for that year?
this game is COOOL and who knew sonic could break dance
I didn't know avoiding enemies, traps and steering properly so as not to fall is just boosting and holding forward.
@LucarioDXAuraStorm
the graphics are not as good as 360/ps3 versions
but wii version doesnt sucks
both versions are good
@mhj0808 That turn if Empire City. Its just challenging not impossible nor it is a level design flaw. Tip: Not boost while drifting. That'll fuck you over.
or it seems to me, or when sonic uses the super boost the music sound different?
