It's great that you want to tell the story your way, but you have to get other opinions, perspectives, and insights on the characters, plot, etc. As much as I hate to admit that as a writer myself! This happens a lot with established filmmakers, especially when they've made hit movies. They ignore critics, and that can be to their detriment.
The design of Delores reminds me between the Bride of Frankenstein as well as Emily, the character of "Corpse Bride". But also, the way in which she assembles her body reminded me of Sally from “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Only instead of attaching her limbs with a needle and string, she's using an industrial stapler.

I do love the introduction to Delores. I just wish that there was more of a focus on her as the main antagonist in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Seriously, Delores gets sidelined by other plots in this film that I sometimes forget she was even a thing in this movie.
The main character of the movie is Lydia. Why the hell would Delores get screentime and be the main antagonist if she doesn’t have any connection to Lydia? Plus Monica Bellucci sucks as an actress. Everyone knows this. She would have ruined the movie if she was the main villain

And consider that Delores is Betelgeuse's ex-wife who tried, and technically succeeded, into killing him, at the cost of her getting axed off, it only makes sense to have her get revenge. And when she discovered that her ex-husband has a photo of Lydia, she could've easily used her as leverage to lure Betelgeuse to finish her ritual of immortality.

Beautiful woman. But seeing a broken woman literally piece herself back together, with scars still showing is where the true beauty is and was the best thing about the movie for me.
Delores putting herself back together is my absolute favorite scene in this film. I knew it the instant I first watched it when I saw this movie in theaters opening weekend. I especially love the little ankle tap at 2:46.

(Especially considering the central theme or setting in the Beetlejuice universe is ghosts and the afterlife, so even if writing someone out of a movie by having their character die in regards to any real-world issues with actors, they would still most likely appear in the spirit realm, albeit their spectral body would be in whatever condition their physical body was upon their physical death.)

Yet, it seems like she was taken down so easily once the showdown began. I really liked this movie but, it seemed like they were playing with too many concepts and characters that they didn’t have enough time to flesh everything out in a satisfying way. They could have cut back on the detective scenes, and completely taken out the melting cake song scene that ate up a lot of the screen time. Then they could have had a far more satisfying fight scene with Delores, could have choreographed it to a cool song number between her and BJ, instead of her just standing there while being eaten without saying very much after hyping her up so much. The ending felt rushed, and uncharacteristic of what we had seen from her throughout the movie.
I was also disappointed when they defeated her so easily and she barely had any scenes. She was hyped to be the “big bad” in the movie that sadly didn’t happen. I really wanted to see her, Lydia and Beetlejuice go hand in hand with a final battle. 😭
I love the scene where she staples herself together although I wish the music synced to the sounds, there was a few moments it was just a few seconds away from doing that! Still an awesome moment

I thoroughly enjoyed The concept of Dolores, and her back story with Beatleguese, and would have liked more of that. BUT it is what it is.
I just saw this movie last night for the first time in the theaters in time for Halloween and when I saw this scene, I already loved this song as I grew up listening to the Bee Gees as a kid. I'm in my 20's and recently lost my grandma this year in August and seeing this scene brought me back good memories and made me realize that the scene also synced the staples being stapled onto her body to keep it together with the beat and It's very subtle, but a LOT of this movie had synced the scenes with the beat of each song that was used for the soundtrack and used it VERY effectively to make it memorable!! Visually this scene was my favorite because of how much it reminded me of other movies Tim Burton directed and created like Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas (even though he produced it), Corpse Bride, and even Dark Shadows. Such a great sequel!!!

I was a little disappointed with Deloris because throughout the movie she's trying to locate Beetlejuice and I was hoping when she does there would be some major climatic showdown/dual between the two and we didn't get that so again I was a little disappointed.
I remember being at the cinema watching a woman just getting all her body parts together for like 2 unnecesary mins and my mind was like "Yeah, shes now my fav character."
It's great that Tim Burton brought Danny Devito in this movie. Only wish Jack Nicholson could be brought back from retirement, so we can truly have a Tim Burton Batman reunion.
Her 1 finger arm was never attached. It was collecting things for her until it was then attached --- as you see at the beginning, the elbow is using support from the ground to put her face together.
I love the facial expressions Delores has when she puts herself back together and Monica, with her beauty really makes you fall in love with her character even though she is evil to the core... but you can't help but immerse yourself in her beauty. Monica is 60, was 59 at time of filming, and to this day she is still stunning as ever. She gives of the exotic vibe like no other... Fell in love wit her after seeing Malena, still in love with her in 2024.

Her 1 finger arm was never attached. It was collecting things for her until it was then attached --- as you see at the beginning, the elbow is using support from the ground to put her face together.
