    Albion should introduce a Greek Section in their Nex Generation Line. Add the Kopis and Xiphos!

    I ordered my Albion Meyer about a month ago!!! They have great customer service but I still have to wait another 5-6 months for it to come in!!!!! I'm sure it's because they have to dig up the bones of ancient kings to smelt my steal and get the carbon right but I guess you can't rush these things. lol
    Thanks for putting out this interview, really enjoyed it! They really are a great company!!

      @Kaiser Franz von Lappen der 2. LOL! HEY! YES! Not only was it worth but I also ordered a scabbard for it from this guy name Vargu Leather. When im not using it, it sets nicely in a spot in my living room, its a great conversation piece. Also just a heads up you can ask Albion to change the color of your grip. My Meyer just had a brown spun grip but for an extra 20 bucks they did it in black for me.
      Anyways I still recommend them, just need to be patient.
      Take care have a great day! :-)

    "I feel we've made people step up the level"
    Absolutely. Everyone aspires to having albion - level handling. They handle the way antiques do, and so, so many others fail to reach that.
    On grinding: The fullers in the ljubljana sword are nuts.

    This was a very interesting interview. Thank you, and _Albion_ that 'like' button right quick. ;)

    I talked to Mike a few days ago when I ordered my first sword. He told me Albion has 10 employees now in 2020.

    I ordered a Kingmaker off of Kult of Athena 9 days before this video. It will be my first Albion. I thought I could wait the estimated year but I'm so hyped it's killing me.

      Yes I know that blows my mind, there should be at least a 1 in front of the 28k subs.

    I dream of buying an Albion Sword...

  • @Rakadis

    I really like Albion. I was really bummed out when Albion Europe closed. It is getting pretty hard to get swords at cost. Shipping and tax can double the cost of a sword...

    For years Ive wanted to buy a next gen Knight. Hopefully one day I'll have it. I know most here wont like fantasy/movie swords but in 2005 after reminiscing about watching Conan as a kid I stumbled on to Albion & their special edition/filmsword line. I dropped the $2,500US. At the time the Australian dollar was down against the US & after conversion it cost me round $3,500AUS. Also for all items over $1,000 you also pay tax ($680)! I got slaughtered but the sword is amazing & I love Albion! Unfortunately Jody Samson the original swordsmith for Conan who worked on this line for Albion has since passed.

    Albion definitely set the bar. aside from a company like templ they are the creme de la creme you can never go wrong with an albion .I'd love to work for them someday

    Oh Thomas, how I pine for that Gallowglass.

    • @WaverenEvermore
      @WaverenEvermore 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Leonard It's pretty cool, but man getting a scabbard worthy to put it in is equally as expensive.

    • @Chaosism
      @Chaosism 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Waveren Evermore - Right, you can't desecrate such a fine sword with a crappy scabbard. But one of the companies that Albion recommends for scabbards, DBK Custom Swords, currently has about _double_ that of the wait time of an Albion sword!

    • @MacLeannain
      @MacLeannain 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      My wife's a MacDougall. That's a Gallowglass name... Surely there'd be a discount...

      +Chaosism order the scabbard first then order the sword. Hope everything pans out in the meantime

      Too bad its sold out. I told Mike after the interview that the main problem with the 100 sword limit is that there wouldn't be enough of them in the world.

    Pretty nice interview and an interesting story. I would love to work for a company like Albion or have my resume pop up first on a dream company's computer. Of course I wish I had the space and the $$$ for some of their pieces, sad to see that the Gallowglass and Knecht Kreigmessier go, but at least they said that there is something to replace at least one of those on the way. Heck it is almost time for Longpoint 2018 to see what is new with Albion and Mike (whom I hope this year wears an Albion or a Medieval or HEMA related shirt instead of an old WSU jersey).

    Albion swords are beautiful, although they don't have many of the swords I think are the most interesting. My favourite by far is the Cluny sword.

    The Vigil is indeed really awesome ...but I prefer the Oakshott.
    Man I'd want to have that sword. (and the Vigil)
    Mind you, if I had the money, I'd get every non Type XV sword they've made (that's designed by Peter Johnsson)

      I just received my Oakeshott... and my goodness, it is every bit as wonderful as anyone could imagine. If you have the chance to get one, do it! It sings through the air with every cut.

      The Oakeshott (also Chevalier-exact same sword; different handle) is indeed an amazing, special sword. Feels lighter than what it is. Very special.

    biggest problem putting down $2200 for a Maximilian then waiting 2 years, if they go under while your waiting how do you get your money back???
