I love this minimal approach! keep it simple and only things you love using!!! that's how I think about buying new products, it's the money invested + time invested not using other products. so it has to be intentional!
Thank you for talking about back ups. I am the queen of back ups. As you mentioned, it rarely works out. I am comfortable with buying a favorite before the other one is done. I do this with things like mascara and concealer, so that when one tube is done, I can pull another tube from my cabinet and not skip a beat. Other than that, no more back ups for me!

I agree with you Sandra, I enjoy finishing my makeup products, it is a quite satisfactory feeling that you are investing your money well and it happens to me a lot that almost reaching the end of the product is when it gets more interesting. of course! we all want/need different things at different stages in our lives, so it’s all about going with the flow and adapting - I always want my makeup routine to be a source of joy, creativity and relaxation, so when it starts to feel daunting I know I need to make some adjustments lol

Hi Sandra! You inspire me to use up all my makeup before buying a new one :) at 36 I realized and found my signature look and it just takes a few makeup products to achieve it. A good base, eyebrows, blush and bronzer and that is it!
i am very much in the same boat. i like to play and have fun with different looks every now and then for a night out but my bread and butter is easy, natural, soft everyday makeup looks lol
I look forward to watching your videos on Sunday mornings. I am planning to move in the next several months and have been going through my make up collection, throwing things out that are old. I have not done enough maintenance of my collection and now I am paying for it, it is difficult to sort a large amount of make up make up. I certainly won’t purchase like that again.

My Mario bronzer finally arrived from the US and I’m so glad I followed your recommendation. It’s now my go to! The coco crush concealer is great too! I have to say though, while I really like the products, I’m a bit disappointed with the packaging of the merit products. It feels a bit cheaper than I expected. Thanks for so many great recommendations Sandra!
yay so glad you love the mario bronzer!! i agree that the merit products look more glamorous in photos than they feel in real life, but i think it's intentional - it goes along with their marketing of being an "affordable luxury" brand.
I am on the last dregs of my Armani power fabric concealer and I felt that empties rant because I refused to buy it even though the formula is so good! I suspect that I will like my ND concealer just as much and I have 2 the nars pot one and that one and honestly very happy with that. And yeah It takes me forever to use up lipstick so I haven't bought any in a good long while. The one I am working on is slow going and honestly I think my mindset is how can I use what I have more? I hate seeing things go bad too!

Hi Sandra, as per a video from Nikki La Rose, she recommends to spray some moisturizing face mist to the channel pot to prolong its life. Because they do dried up fast. Her video it’s one shadow. Hope this helps.

Love this video, Sandra! I have not been good with project pan as I got really bored with the same product for more than a month now. How do you rotate your non-project pan products? I am a bit sad that they are somewhat neglected 😂 It’s incredible how persistent you are with finishing this and congratulations on some empties. It takes work and grit 😂
I definitely go through phases! this year I’m trying an “eyeshadow challenge” where in each month I pull out a different palette/quad and try to incorporate it into my makeup routine throughout the month. some months I’m like “I want to wear a different lipstick every day” and it just kind of goes from there. for the most part though I try to rotate stuff out of my everyday makeup bag on a monthly basis, and if I come across anything that I don’t love anymore I allow myself to pass it on. But most of the time I end up rediscovering something I really like 🥰

I’m always so excited when you post a video on Sundays 😊 Just a tip on that Chanel cream eyeshadow I put a drop of face oil in it to revive it. That seems to work better than the duraline for me. I can’t take credit for that tip I think it was the makeup artist Nikkie LaRose that recommended that and I’ve found that it works really well. You totally nailed the elmer’s glue analogy. When I smell that I know my stuff has gone bad.
Will be trying that as a last ditch effort!!
I adore the Violette_fr matte lip balm but delivery to Canada is a lot so I’m considering that Nars matte balm next maybe.
The NARS shade range is kind of dull but if you find a shade you love, the formula is really nice.

I don't know if it is similar, but when I saw the Too Faced Gloss you held to the camera it remindet me of my Maybelline Lifter Gloss in Reef (I love it in spring/summer). There is also one very similar in one of the more recent Lipgloss Collections by Maybelline, maybe give it a in-store swatch?!
I love the lifter gloss formula but the scent of it bothers me also 😭🥲😭

Thanks for the video! Do you have a recommendation for an alternative to Chanel undertone? I wanted to try it because it looks like a satin/pearl finish and not glittery- which I really like. Any other similar products to try while I wait to see if it gets reformulated?
The closest in finish is the westman atelier superloaded tinted highlight! I have the shade Peau de peche which is a bit warmer/peachier than the Chanel, but it gives that soft sheen we’re looking for. It’s great on the cheeks too! Surratt eyeshadow in Soie looks like a good contender too. I have the shades Dore Rose (lighter soft peachy champagne) and Ingenue (soft glowing light pink) and they make the perfect brightening lid shades paired with a matte brown crease colour 😊
The Too Faced looks similar to Lisa Eldridge Go Lightly. 🌟
Ooh haven’t tried the gloss version but I used to have Go Lightly lipstick!
Hmm that's too bad about the chanel cream shadow, I haven't found that mine dry out and have had it for a looong time.
People recommended using a hydrating face mist or a light face oil to rehydrate the dry cream shadow and it’s been working better! I had an eye serum with an oilier texture so I mixed a tiny bit into the Chanel cream and it worked a lot better than with the Inglot thing I was using before 😊😊😊
Having the same issue with my Chanel cream shadow in Patine Bronze - the shade is stunning but it's halfway done and already so dry 😥😅

I’m the same… I adore the feel of a gorgeous Westman Atelier compact or kjar Weiss blush etc..
The constant barrage of new releases isn’t tempting. However I’m buying less overall because even the “sustainable “ green washing, quite luxury marketing is showing its true high consumption consumerism. Westman Atelier isn’t bringing out refills like they promised years ago and now I have so much money invested in what?!?🤷🏻♀️
