I'm 36, been going to that Old Mill antique mall since I was a little boy, maybe 4 or 5 years old with my Mom. About 8 years ago I took a day off work and took my Mom to every antique store I could find in Columbia and that place hadnt changed a bit. Good memories. Sure do miss my mom!
I had the same type of childhood. My Mom brought us to many antique shops. I was too young to be into it but at 40 now I cherish those memories and am into antiques big time. Sorry for your loss man I feel for you.
Hayley sharing her childhood memories had me grinning ear to ear and the flea market guy teasing you on the price of that robot made me lol! Thanks for being real and sharing with us! ❤️
I got a really nice feedback from a buyer recently. She had ordered a Fisher Price Dollhouse. (If you want to buy one to resell, make sure you buy it really cheap because it will sit for a looong time. An exception (at least in my experience) was a Fisher Price Townhouse that sold really fast because I priced it right.) Anyway, the lady told me that her grandmother had brought a similar dollhouse for her and her sister a long time ago, but four years ago her aunt threw it away, thinking they were done with it. Her sister was pretty upset, so now she bought her sister the dollhouse I had just like it. I remember another story a customer shared of their grandchild losing their favorite plush toy at a daycare and my item was an exactly the same as the one they lost. I feel really honored to help people replace their lost items! Anyway, I think it is always neat when customers share a story like that.
I agree 100% with what you said about starting with video games. That's exactly how I got my eBay store off to a good start before diversifying to other items, and I'm not even a video game person (my kids are though)
So funny how we all look for different things while shopping! I never would have even noticed the stuff you found I'd be scoping out the glass and pottery!
I sold a vintage Empire Nativity set, 11 piece if I remember right, in their original boxes, shipped some in origibal boxes, animals I combined in one large box that held their boxes.......for $1,000. Blow molds DO have great resale value,.
Lisa Frank stuff was popular when my son was growing up in the 90s. It was extra special for us because our good friend Rob, was her lead artist and created many of the art designs. He recently has returned to working for her.
Appreciate the honest review at the end. I would agree that most ppl shouldn't be paying up for items at an antique mall especially if they are just getting started. There is honestly so much inventory out there for cheap that you shouldn't have to. Get educated, put in some honest work and you will have a store built up in no time!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I don't usually shop at the antique malls because they are higher priced. Going to them and finding cool stuff is fun though.
Great video and I love that even though you are paying up a bit you are supporting another local small business! I try to do this more than the chain thrifts. Great for everyone involved.
I learn something new everytime I watch y’all!!! Absolutely love your content & can’t thank you both for the time & energy you spend on not only helping yourselves but also us, the community! Information & knowledge is key and you both provide so much it!!! Big thanks & appreciation 🙏🏼❤️🔥🖤
I checked that sealed textbook (books are what I sell almost exclusively) and their price was even higher than online! My heart skipped a beat when I heard you say you were in West Columbia - I am right outside of West Columbia, Texas! Love the video as always!
Oldmill is such a fun store to browse you could spend hours in there. I rarely ever buy anything but I love to restore cast-iron skillets and give them as gifts.. old mill is a great spot for that!
Lisa frank is worth money if the her name starts with capital letters. Lisa Frank. If her name is all lower case they're newer pieces. Can't wait for your sale tonight. They're so much fun!!
I had a booth at Old Mill back in college! I would sell on eBay OR put it in my booth. Once you find your niche in a booth, the stuff can move pretty fast and for prices similar to eBay without the hassle of shipping. BUT, the booth price is pretty steep if you aren't doing significant volume. If you're going to shop at Old Mill, ask about when they do their sales. Once or twice a year they did a mandatory sale where every booth is required to do at least some sort of sale (most do 25-50% off, some do like 70% off). That would put the prices back in line with what you would expect from regular vendors at the flea market.
By the way will you keep an eye out for diecast cars and trucks any brand 1/64 scale hot wheels, greenlight, Johnny lightning, auto world,M2 machines, 1st gear, speccast ertl, and diecast toy farm tractors any brand or model please and thank you
Antique stores can be very educational and enable us to see a lot of BOLO items (like that blue & white Pyrex) in person which helps a lot when we're out in the world trying to find good things to flip. Did you even look at any of the cast iron skillets when you were talking about that robot?? Torture!! Sorry, but I'm just crazy about those things! LOL! Great video! See you in the Whatnot auction tonight!!
This was a super fun video!! Y'all found some decent deals! Antique malls are super fun, kinda half thrift/half museum lol. Also shout out to Hayley's shirt -- it is super cute!!
I just rewatched your " I'm starting a TH-cam Channel" video. It was awesome! I love how funny you were from the very beginning! Also, I'm kinda glad the lawn mower didn't start LOL!
Excited for the video!! I tried to search for it but have you guys made a video on clothing brands to look out for? I’ve been picking up a ton from watching the videos though of course!
Haters, give resellers a break .... a can of Red Bull or Monster costs 3 to 5 cents to make but sells for more than $2 each , go figure who's making the real money . Great job Hairy !!
that Tommy Robot, I think you have the more expensive version. The black one does not have 2002 on the top chest part, yours does. Similar ones like that go for a lot more then the basic black version.
We use to haunt the antique/collectible shops. Back then, we were searching for color glass vases, pitchers, and candy dishes. I still have them all. Good memories. AND, it was always special when we would go to pay and the cashier would say ... oh that seller is having a 40% sale ! As always, I enjoy your videos.
just a fyi. antique malls you can have the person working there ask the person who owns that booth to text/call them for a better deal. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. never hurts to ask.
Awww I just realised y’all updated your channel picture!! Too stinkin’ cute!! 💖 always a joy to see y’all have neat adventures; def giving me an itch to go hit up my local antique shops 😂 bless y’all and have an awesome day!!
Where I live thrift store and Goodwill prices are almost the same as antique malls, so when a booth has a sale I can most likely get a better price than a thrift store, which is crazy. Those blue Pyrex Amish dishes are on my personal search list.
You are right on about being too aggressive with buying items to resell. I recently bought 6 items in Target to resell, and I sold them all in 4 days. That never, ever happens. FYI, my daughter took my Hairy Tomatoes shirt. It's gone.
There's an Old Mill Antique Mall near me too. If you guys ever find yourselves driving up through NJ, you should look it up. It's not far from the turnpike. Josh, you were right to put back that particular text book, but some new text books sell for over $100, so you should definitely look them up. And, Hayley, it really didn't matter which Power Puff Girl you named your brother. For a young boy, there really is no preferable Power Puff Girl that would have been acceptable to him.
So true on the video games! The sell through rate is quick, especially if you find the right ones. Thats pretty much how I started. Along with other random items. I enjoy flipping video game stuff still (been on ebay for 1 yr now) VG have not failed me yet
Great video (as usual)...I had forgotten about Lisa Frank. I had so much of that stuff as a kid. Thanks for the flashback (and reminder of how old I am...lol). You guys are so fun to watch 😊
so wholesome , ilove watching u guys in the morning cause i like the weather so your videos feels cozy all the time , love from malaysia 🇲🇾, btw its funny how everytime josh point a camera at hayley she will do that shoulder thingy 🤣
I remember that airplane propellor! You missed that popcorn popper. It makes the best popcorn ever. Wow! That Pyrex must be in pristine shape. That’s high. Cool that you know your Pyrex. And antique malls are fun to shop in!
We spend most weekends hitting antique malls. You can always find stuff to re sell for good money. It never fails there is always someone getting out of their booth and selling stuff for next to nothing. You also find plenty of items where sellers do not know what they have
I've wondered if some of those booth owners also post some of their items on eBay, just hoping for someone willing to pay their price. Customer traffic in those places is very low, from what I've seen. Hopefully they are busier when I'm not there. FYI, I enjoy watching Dean and Done Handyman's YT channel.
Hey Josh/Haley , I missed the Whatnot Auction.... just wondering what the Jurassic Hat Brought......Got my SYF Hoodie Today Plan on wearing in our Picking Video on Tuesday..... Love What your Doing..... Thanks
🤩Thank you for this great video. I can't get out to shop, so this was really special. I do watch your trips to the flea market, but it's sooo noisy, and I can't hear the conversations. This was a nice calm but exciting event.🤩Good finds!
yeah my experience at antique malls is that the vendors know what they have and price like ebay , plus they need to pay for the both at the antique mall . I have found awesome stuff at the antique mall but everything w as priced for retail
Josh, great content. That robot was originally white model. The yellowing is from over time. I believe that magic erasers will work in removing that yellow. i use them all the time on playstations. love all the videos every week. When I come in to work on sunday mornings, i always look forward to catching your updated content.
The indoor flea market I hit on occasion has awesome prices. There’s one seller that’s pretty spendy, but otherwise prices are great. Antique malls always seem to be priced high. I used to collect military surplus, and antique stores charge A LOT compared to a flea market
I can't believe you left the Weta Works Gollum figure behind!!! Collectable and 40% off whatever the asking price was, I'd think I'd died and gone to Heaven if I found him in the the wild, sigh..... What a fantastic place to hunt in, you got some good stuff.
My Mom used to work in that building when it was known as Deluxe Laundry and Cleaners back in the mid 1950's before she and my Dad got married in 1958.
I own that Gollum/smegiel statue lol it came from one of those special DVD editions, I also have the jewelry case of the castle but that is slightly broken lol
When you put prices on the screen with an item you purchase, is that a sold comp or what you ended up selling it for? Love your videos. I have that Michael Jackson WII. My son was into Michael Jackson and would dance to it.
The way Hayley anxiously waits to say "on the next one" for the outro is golden lol
Often i see items at yard sales that remind me of my grandma. Like you said good memories
I had the same type of childhood. My Mom brought us to many antique shops. I was too young to be into it but at 40 now I cherish those memories and am into antiques big time. Sorry for your loss man I feel for you.
Hearing Hayley explain the difference between Smeagol and Gollum just made her more lovable
I came to comment this also. It made my heart happy.
Hayley sharing her childhood memories had me grinning ear to ear and the flea market guy teasing you on the price of that robot made me lol! Thanks for being real and sharing with us! ❤️
I have seen many people source from antique stores and they make fine profits. Your motto is support your friends...Small businesses are you friends
Haley coming through with the Lord Of The Rings knowledge 🙌🏻
I thought the same thing! I was shouting at my screen when Josh asked the question and realized he couldn't hear me.
@@elmpickers lol same! 😅
Yes! I was going to comment the "difference" but then she said it.
Right!!? He better put a ring on her finger. She's a keeper.
@@Hamburger759 haha they've been married for a bit so sounds like he knew she was a keeper pretty early on!
I got a really nice feedback from a buyer recently. She had ordered a Fisher Price Dollhouse. Get someone that looks at you the same way Hayley looks at Josh 20:06 haha loved it :p
I was gonna mention that as well...so special.
We can only wish we'd fine someone
I love it! Haley reminding you that where you went was your first video. That's why she's Haley Tornado and your husband of Haley Tornado!! 😄😁😆😅🤣
Watching you and Hayley shopping together is so enjoyable.
Always a good day when Hairy Tornado uploads!
You two are always amazing! Keep the good finds coming!
We have two booths at our local market here in KS. Thanks for supporting your local vendors! It’s always exciting when we make sales!
I so Love Haileys smile! She is always so happy and has thee best smile!!
That was a fun one! But still with good info. Love that you both still get excited over finds!
Can't wait to watch the auction!
Don't know who's More Supportive You or Haley of each other. Love it so !!! You guys are having so much fun Shopping 🛍 ☺ !!!
I agree 100% with what you said about starting with video games. That's exactly how I got my eBay store off to a good start before diversifying to other items, and I'm not even a video game person (my kids are though)
You are SUCH an inspiration! I sold my FIRST pair of socks on ebay last night! I
So funny how we all look for different things while shopping! I never would have even noticed the stuff you found I'd be scoping out the glass and pottery!
Every since I came across your videos I have been watching and I also have subscribed. Keep bringing those good videos.
Hayley!!Omg!! I was Snap!! So funny, i thought my sisters and i were nuts for doing this!!! You guys are great!!
I sold a vintage Empire Nativity set, 11 piece if I remember right, in their original boxes, shipped some in origibal boxes, animals I combined in one large box that held their boxes.......for $1,000. Blow molds DO have great resale value,.

Rather than saying things are expensive a famous antiques show on BBC they say ‘ it’s all of the money’ which I rather like
Appreciate the honest review at the end. I would agree that most ppl shouldn't be paying up for items at an antique mall especially if they are just getting started. There is honestly so much inventory out there for cheap that you shouldn't have to. Get educated, put in some honest work and you will have a store built up in no time!
Haha on the tv characters. Buttercup was my favorite and my sister liked blossom. Did the same with Hocus Pocus.
Loved the Pyrex...if I lived there I would be stalking those and as soon as any sale showed up for that booth those would be mine.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I don't usually shop at the antique malls because they are higher priced. Going to them and finding cool stuff is fun though.

I'm so excited for this video. I LOVE antique malls. Plus you find better things in most antique malls.
Super fun to see the antique mall - great to mix it up from golf clubs and Nikes!
I love watching ur videos. I'm learning a lot from u and Haley.
Sometimes yeah, but in this video you should learn to not buy most of the stuff they overpaid for that have awful sell through
Antique stores can be very educational and enable us to see a lot of BOLO items (like that blue & white Pyrex) in person which helps a lot when we're out in the world trying to find good things to flip.

Awesome video Josh & Haley. I’ve never been there before! Thanks for sharing man
Really cool finds. Thank you for inspiring me to start my own business. You two rock!
Lol are you serious? At least half the stuff they bought today they will lose money or barely break even with awful sell through.
Hailey had me cracking up!!!! My brother was the youngest with 3 sisters and we did the same thing to him 😂
Excited for the video!! I tried to search for it but have you guys made a video on clothing brands to look out for? I’ve been picking up a ton from watching the videos though of course!
We haven't made a dedicated video about that, no.
Haley is an expert on Lord of the Rings 🤣 love it

Love those kinds of antique malls. Used to peruse the ones at Old Towne Orange by Chapman University even before I was a reseller.
That place looks awesome! Can't wait for the auction tonight!
Thanks for adding some plain talking!! You guys are so cool!!! They call it schmoozing:)
Awww I just realised y’all updated your channel picture!! Too stinkin’ cute!! 💖 always a joy to see y’all have neat adventures; def giving me an itch to go hit up my local antique shops 😂 bless y’all and have an awesome day!!
I still have the dove change dish you picked up from your video 2 years ago. Great to see you back there!
Oh yeah!! Thanks for the support!
Where I live thrift store and Goodwill prices are almost the same as antique malls, so when a booth has a sale I can most likely get a better price than a thrift store, which is crazy.
Those blue Pyrex Amish dishes are on my personal search list.
Great video. And thanks for answering my question about how much inventory/investment you should have in your store. That was helpful!
Good morning to my favorite TH-cam couple!!!!!!
Good morning Hayley and Josh hope you're having a great day
“Better to ask forgiveness than permission “ never worked very well with my wife😂🙃
Gave you guys a shoutout on wades ventures auction last night!
Just love you guys and your channel. Always look forward for the notification of a new video.
Loving watching yall's videos!! Keep up the awesome work.

Before this video posted, I literally just sorted by date on your videos to see your very first one.
Always so love watching you 2 together! We will be there tonight for the whatnot auction!
Haley, love the color-blocked hoodie.

I love antique malls to learn about new items/values.
Haha that thumbnail makes Josh look like he is going fly fishing. " HAYLEY!!! I'M GOING FISHING!"
Loved the antique store. My kind of place. Glad you were able to find some items to flip.
Cool finds guys, love watching all you do so entertaining!!! Love from Seneca!
Stop lieing lmao. Half the stuff they picked up they will lose money or barely break even with awful sell through unless the viewers bail them out
Are you serious 😐
Hey Josh/Haley , I missed the Whatnot Auction.... just wondering what the Jurassic Hat Brought......Got my SYF Hoodie Today Plan on wearing in our Picking Video on Tuesday..... Love What your Doing..... Thanks

Tuned into your Whatnot auction… IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE BANGER!!!
The MacDonalds for 15 cents is my era. Showing my age. LOL Loved Haleys childhood stories.
20 cents for hamburgers 15 cents for fries
yeah my experience at antique malls is that the vendors know what they have and price like ebay , plus they need to pay for the both at the antique mall . I have found awesome stuff at the antique mall but everything w as priced for retail
Really like Dean’s bike……looking forward for Whatnot. Thanks for sharing

Hope I don’t miss y’all on whatnot can’t wait
Should have haggled on the Jordan video for 23!!! Haha great vid guys, I will see you at the auction tonight. Western Canada 🇨🇦 is watching.
I can't believe you left the Weta Works Gollum figure behind!!! Collectable and 40% off whatever the asking price was, I'd think I'd died and gone to Heaven if I found him in the the wild, sigh..... What a fantastic place to hunt in, you got some good stuff.
If you're new, always start at home, see what you already own that you no longer need and that you can sell.
Antiques are definitely a different world with tons of knowledge to obtain
My Mom used to work in that building when it was known as Deluxe Laundry and Cleaners back in the mid 1950's before she and my Dad got married in 1958.
Is Millers flea market good in Fort mill? Where would you say the best ones are in SC
I think I went over the location in the first few seconds of the video.
Good morning Mr and Mrs Tornado!
It's just a sold comp usually.
