Gaining weight isn't that hard. It's not something that happens overnight. Literally 500 extra calories more than maintenance a day (not factoring in BMR changes) would gain you 100 pounds in 2 years. That's just two 20oz bottles of soda. It's so easy to grab fast food and a soda on the weekdays and a pizza on the weekends with some beer and as you gain more weight you become more sedentary.
As someone who reached 404lbs, getting that big is sooooooo not hard. Now im down 83 pounds (and going). Losing the weight is far harder than putting it on.
Keep up the good work! Unlike nick you didn't do it for views so it's real personal growth! Keep going! You will only feel better and better! I lost 70lbs and I'm at my proper bmi and I feel like my old self again!
Agreed! Its easy to gain weight, extremely hard to lose it! Especially when you have years and years of bad habits to break through. Not impossible, but very hard
As a 700lb dude, who never injectected cheese, i can say it is easy to get big if it was just lifetime of habits, its like eating 3 times a day is normal, I just realized I'm eating 2 times someone else's meal size, doing that every meal for ur whole life, can just be a gradual huge, but I can still walk, cook, clean, everything, cause I'm 6'5, I'm working on losing weight again, I've lost 40lbs in the past 2 weeks, which was mostly water weight so I would call it 10 actual lbs, I had lost 200lbs a few years back, but then gained them back after getting a sitting job, the bigger you are the faster you can lose weight, we just don't due to bad habits
@@ninjashogun the human body works the opposite way lol. Once fat comes on the cells are expanded forever. The thing about Nick is that he is a vegan and studies between vegans and non-vegans show crazy difference in will power and displine with the result of crazy highly athletic growth compared to non vegans. It's crazy how elite the vegan community (not biased I am eating beef rn) If mightyOdin did lose 200lb then that is a crazy amount of willpower and good on him.
Chris is big on audience demographics, almost predatory. He knows his viewers are pseudo intellectuals who overthink everything, prob dont have a gf, but probably have good discipline.
He basically had 2 years worth of videos built up, and posted those regularly as though they were current. Meanwhile, he was losing all this weight behind the scenes, props to him to turning it all around
Even if he did lost the weight by going to the gym, he would have lose skin.. I know I can speak about it because I lost a lot of weight as well. So he either got it removed or got liposuction during his journey in my opinion. But I mean still he did a great job and put effort!
Water only fasting. As someone who did 21 days, if you're under medical supervision, it's actually not difficult (nor unsafe) as you're simply not hungry passed the first 24-36 hours.
I lost 140lb or 10st in just under a year. I also stopped being diabetic. I did this just by diet change and cutting out all sugar and drastically reducing my carb in take. If I could do this with the terrible sugar addiction then anyone can. I lost the weight to be able to receive fertility treatment, I also had a zero sperm count and I very recently had another count done and I have gone from zero to 87million although it was only one test result the hospital called it miraculous. If you find a reason or motivation it is possible. Although something no one really mentions is the excess skin but it's still worth it and I can live with it but it does reduce with time. I won't lie it was hard especially watching my wife eating the things I couldn't, but it is and was worth it. I just wish my dad was still here to see it but I know he would be proud of me😊
I know I’m not TH-cam famous, but I’ve been on my own fitness journey and at 5’ 10” have gone from 480lbs to 210lbs, but it’s taken years. I have had to basically change every aspect of my self and my life to do it. Now being at the gym so much gives me focus and purpose. The fact that I am now thinner than I was in middle school is what keeps me going. Thanks for the great video. I’m a new subscriber and falling in love with the channel.
i have a feeling he didn't lose the weight, he just recorded this video before he gained weight. or he just got liposuction and skin surgeries to staple the loose skin
You sure are picking everybody that is hot right now and I love Will Tennyson so that will be awesome. Also like Mike Israel and it’s just interesting to see the podcast circuit becoming a bro click.

I have been big my entire life. I wore a size men's 32 pant when I was 10. I was 315lbs in 7th grade. I currently weight 325lbs cause I recently lost 30lbs. It was very easy for me. I lost 60lbs in high school and became very muscular playing football, throwing in track and field and competing in powerlifting. I never had to try to lose weight, but I always had to struggle to lose weight.
This was definitely planned. He did an interview with James Marriot years ago saying he planned to lose all the weight and post about his journey. I don't think anyone expected it to have this level of subversion though.
5kg a month is going to be about an 1100 kcal daily deficit (or slightly over), for most people that isn’t going to be a healthy push, many people are going to struggle with 500kcals, I wouldn’t even call it a healthy push, not for any significant amount of time anyway.
It is not hard to get that fat - if you drink on a regular basis and eat whatever you want and stop moving, you can easily get to 400 pounds within a year or two.
This largely depends on the individual though. You can get people that eat whatever they want, drink and hardly move, that are still skinny, and vice versa. I remember forcefeeding myself, not exercising, drinking carbonated drinks, for 8 months straight and the highest I got to, was 20% bodyfat. Also, eating 3000 empty calories is much easier than eating 3000 calories of proper food, so it also largely depends on what the person is consuming as well. Getting fat eating proper food, is extremely difficult because your body will reject it once you're over a certain amount of calories in a day.
Despite the incredibly cringe commentary from him in the video, that is by far the single greatest event of an episode TH-cam has ever had. Blew my mind.
My best friend in high school went from 400 lbs and then lost half the weight in a year he never would tell me what he did to do this but he had a lot of loose skin but after nearly 15 years of working out he gained a lot of muscle and had lost most of the loose skin
As someone that was once 525 lbs I can tell it wasn't that difficult. I was 350 for 7 yrs and then my employer put in a free soda fountain. I started drinking 100 oz of normal soda a day for a few years. When the pandemic hit I stayed home and just cutting out the soda dropped my weight 40lb in 6 months. I've worked to continue to drop it but the progress gets super slow.
Not a lot of people can get that heavy. Most people who are that heavy lack the hormone that tells you to stop eating so they eat non stop. At 500 lbs, your tdee was probably more than 5000 calories a day. To keep eating that everyday is insane. Btw congrats for the weight loss.
@@DarthAndylus doesn’t work like that. You will gain weight until a certain point and you will need to increase your calories to keep gaining weight. You can’t become morbidly obese from a 100 calories over your maintenance.
