Yes blunt force trauma it is a show stopper i have used it many a nite, and in northern Iowa in late Dec it is the only way to bang a Trap in, always dig your videos thanks and keep em coming
That ground isn’t NEARLY as frozen a mine is right now. Countless days well under freezing and that after heavy rains! Most nights near and at zero degrees. Ground is exactly like concrete!
In our area (NE missouri) a lot of trappers have been telling me to get in traps before big snow because after big snow they are skittish around fresh dirt holes or disturbed area. Do you think it can either help or hurt?
I'd say if u made a dirt pattern as big as your trap they may not step on it.if u expand the pattern I doubt it.trappers dont realise coyotes were skittish before the snow and they didnt realise it till they got snow
I’m going to wax dirt I️ always before took flake antifreeze and pre-mixed with my dirt it works good but only down in the teens but In KY recently it’s been like 1deg or lower and it won’t work that cold nothing will except wax.
thats just what i was looking for. struggling currently to set in the snow and i learned what i was looking for thank you!

Living in northern Michigan we don’t get frozen ground. Thawed out year round
In Iowa the ground is hard and is worse when it’s froze
It would have been nice to be a little closer so we could see exactly what was going on.
Thank you for your insight, just starting for coyotes this year and it seems overwhelming to say the least
Just stay simple.put your lure in a good spot and set the trap where they will stand to smell it.apprecaite u watching
GREAT JOB JEFF.
