hey thanks for these serge videos! did you build any of the modules yourself? the serge build guide gives ideas for swapping a few of the vcfs components to mess with the resonance
Hey thanks Max! Yes I built all of these Serge modules myself and have also built a few for others too. They are really high quality kits, well documented and straight forward to build, so they're actually good options for new comers to synth DIY.
Thanks for the videos! They are great! Do you have every Serge Random Source module? Which do you think are the most important to have and can you share a photo of your system ?
Thanks! I don't have every R*S Serge module, but I'd say most of the important ones. I'd say the quintessential Serge modules are the DUSG, VCM, VCFQ and perhaps the SSG, but I guess it depends on what you want to do. I plan to look at Ring next and hope to put together the Active Pro soon. I can't make community posts yet, but have posted a photo to my twitter. twitter.com/teezdalien/status/1293996926396858369?s=20
Thanks for this. My current setup is a DUSG, VCFQ, SSG , N Com, Haible Tau Phaser and a Res EQ . I was thinking of getting an NTO- do you recommend them ? I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a VCM
@@carygeorges Nice! Yes the NTO is one of my favorite oscillators, but it isn't really what makes a Serge a Serge if you know what I mean... It just performs very well and sounds really good but doesn't have the inherent flexibility of the other modules mentioned.
Really enjoyed your serge videos! Practical, methodical guides like yours are so hard to come by. Also wow the audio rate patches with this filter are insane.
Thanks Rio! Yes I actually like the soound of this filter more than the VCFQ for typical filtering duties. Do wish it had cv control over the input mix though.
@@teezdalien Yeah, I was wondering if there was a similar control on the Triple Waveshaper, too. Have you used that at all? Any thoughts? Also, looking forward to your breakdown of the Active Processor, whenever you get to it!

@@RioRoye No I haven't really had much experience with those two modules yet. The ACPR is next on my eurorack wishlist, so hoping to get into soon.
