Just imagine. It is 1989, you are young, you are in love and you are listening to these great songs on the radio. There never was, nor will there be a better time 🥲 So thankful to be a teenager in the 80s.
I was 17, and drove my HQ Holden, probably listening to some of these songs, to the Sydney CBD with a girl I wanted to impress with lunch at the Golden Century, then watched Boom Crash Opera and 1927 at the Ent Cent. They certainly were the days....
loved Daryl Braithwaite - One Summer. Kate Ceberano and Kylie Minogue both awesome. Oz had some great bands: Black Sorrows, Dragon, Noiseworks, Boom Crash Opera, Hoodoo Guru's.
It can feel the same in reverse. Only about 10% of Australian music output made it big in US/Europe; the other 90% the world doesn't take much notice of. I suppose we are too far away.
Unfortunally, I didn't find Australian singles charts before 1989, I mean a whole year. (I made lot of researches excepted a no-free website). For the previous years, it will be New Zealand instead.
@@francispelletier3647 I have found the official list of the Australian AMR top 100 singles list! Just go to google and type in AMR top singles charts plus the top selling singles in Australia for each year and decade from 1950 onwards. There's also top singles of all time lists and plenty more!!
@@francispelletier3647I’m guessing you’ve already stumbled across Chart Beats, where Gavin has been posting old KMR and ARIA charts for years. Sure, it’s now a pay site (AU$8 a month, ~ €5), but it’s a goldmine of chart goodness with each Top 50 entry noted by week of entry.

so many great songs this year
Such a difference two years makes. I was 23 in 1989, and I recognised around 70% of these songs. The 1991 list - under 25%.
Muito obrigada Francisco pelas músicas nossa encontrei bastante músicas sensacionais estou marcando no meu caderninho 💃💃💃
Hey I got in first! Great to see an Aussie year featured. All the best from Adelaide, Australia
EXELENTE... MUY BUENA RECOPILACION....SALUDOS.

Australia is alien to both Europe and America, all great hits in the Netherlands did little down under!

My favorite part about this listing is that Sam Kinison's cover of Wild Thing broke into the top 20 in Australia.
Probably the only country where I feel the earth move was a bigger hit than Toy Soldiers
Really enjoyed this, when will you start doing other Australia 80's all entries in the singles chart??
Eventually, and he might even cover the 1990s at some point (and the 2000s, too).

I remember 3:48 for all the times it was in Neighbours.
Yep, esp in the cafe!
Vielleicht kann man ja auch normal ein Video Namens German Single Charts 2001 (All Entries) machen? Da würde ich mich sehr freuen 😇👋🏻☝🏻
10:29 ohh my ears Robert lol
I'd rather jack.that was a classic 😅
What’s the song that goes? “ tell that girl to shut up. Tell that girl I’m gonna beat her up.?”
4:30 transvision vamp tell that girl to shut up
The only thing missing is Barry Bissell introducing every track.
Thanks, mate, now I’ve got the old Take 40 Australia stinger stuck in my head.
