I figured better ways to make them more effective. They're fantastic at clearing maps and rushing for emergencies (especially that bogus zombie next to base). They need a pack of 2 to kill the 45 hp runners, and a pack of 3 to kill the executives (80hp) in order to never take an injury. Chubs will almost always get a smack off. Three can also kill harpies and spitties in most cases without getting hit. For the swarms, you gotta bottle them up. Spreading them out is what killed them. Similar stategy for lucifers. Idea: you can do a lucifer vs mutant theme in a future episode.
This episode was great Kibitz, I love your TAB playthrough, its what introduced me to your channel and you amazing accent I love to listen to. xD But on a serious note, seeing the mutants on this kind of map was very cool, however your tower maze defense at the end gave me an idea you could try out. Make a few layers of stone towers, but, fill the gaps with Lucifer's while putting soldiers and/or snipers up top. Maybe have that as the front line of defense; the lucifers clear out all of the hordes that get funneled into the gaps, while the soldiers attack from above. You might have to set them back slightly so they don't stick out, but I think it could be an interesting strat I just thought of off the top of my head. ^^ Keep it up!
Ahhh yessss seeing ImKibitz on Campaign at Apocalypse difficulty...yaaay !! Now this was really fun to watch!!! : ] You're hardcore and it really shows!
I wish that you had not noticed the zombie attacking your command center. It would have been funny to see your reaction to a death screen suddenly popping up out of nowhere
Finally you get to see the hyper meme that is apocalypse difficulty, I've been doing this for most of my campaign but i've gotten stuck on narrow pass and lowlands as you just don't get enough time to get an economy while trying to push. Just got to 7:15 no that's not apocalypse, I didn't have that happen to me. You've been memed on, and I'm not sure how. I know they spawn in that area to the north, maybe one walked over on east and just finally decided to walk on in and say hi. You know I would actually watch a whole new playthrough on 800% all the way, I'm doing it already in my play session and it's good fun for masochists like me.
I think mutants have better survivability by using their aoe attack to kill things before they get close enough to attack the mutant. Having 2 means that the second mutant can attack between hits of the first mutant and keep the wave of zombies farther back and kill chubbies sooner. Moving them into the maze made them less effective than if they had been given a wider corridoor to fight in groups.
The random zombie coming from the train tracks must be infuriating to lose to, but watching it now it's just hilarious. Gotta be on alert at all times, good thing Kibitz caught it at the right moment.
problem with your tower maze, is that it was stopping the mutants being effective, you look at their AoE when in the open, they was wiping out 10+ zombies at a time. In the maze, while they could only be hit by one or two zombies, they couldnt kill as many either. they lost their biggest advantage, their ability to clear large packs at a time
That random zombie out of the railway area got me on one of my attempts at this map. It was flawless and then that happened and I had to start over After that I always kept a ranger over there, just in case
That happened to me too. Now I keep a ranger by the tracks and my base. On that map a random zombie spawn by the west on the Iron quarry spot. Just yesterday on the Goddess of Destiny Map, a random giant spawn in and I already cleared the map of zombies.
? I thought you had train artillery ? **Checks last episode** Oh it delivers wasps, I thought the train had an artillery gun on one of the cars that fired. xD
I don't understand why they felt the need to add a melee unit in the first place, I can only assume they caved from people asking for one and rushed adding it. Seems super gimmicky.
Isn't it like a robot or something along the lines of that. That could *maybe* explain why it's janky. For some reason i like that animation quite a lot
random walker coming from the east is a thing. It's happened my first attempt, after that I started over and put up a wall and ranger to guard it. By the end of the game she had 10% to vet. So at least 4-5 walkers came in, unknown to me, as i never looked back at that wall. lol (on each of my 4 tries at this map).
Literally beat this a week or two ago (just discovered the game) and watched that skull figure that follows the end of the final wave on the mini map CIRCLE the top of the map and then watched the last twenty or so runners come racing down the train tracks to the Command Center...on Challenging (100%) so the difficulty doesn't seem to matter.
The zombie from the east is a bug. It happened to another youTuber I was watching who was playing on 100% difficulty. He also got a small attack from there of 5 to 10 when the main wave hit.
I had it happen to me on a different map, I was only on the first day and watched 2 Executives and 3 fast movers spawn next to my tents near the Command Center, and spread out the same way solders do when in towers and the tower is deleted. That's how I knew for certain it was a bug. Still frustrating as it cost me score on the retry.
@@tachikazetyler2916 , That sounds like a different bug. The zombies on Cape Storm are coming from the train's enter and exit area and should get run over by the train.
@@bjornolsenius5326 , please read the description of Cape Storm that clearly states, "Defend the bridge of the North with all your strength because it's the only point of entry." Until that changes it is a blatantly obvious BUG.
That SAME thing happened to me - with the zombie come in at the corner at the exact same spot it did for you! And I was playing on Brutal (300%). I think one is just really far back in there? Maybe random spawn? No idea but I had the same reaction, that was cheap.
I think that if the video title included the difficulty you're playing at you might get more views. Some people could be looking for strats to beat the level at the highest difficulty setting and they'd find this. Just a thought. I know I have done this search for other games.
7:10 Legit pissed at the game as I lost 2 campaign missions in a row from that kind of bullcrap. Literally had every choke point covered by 3-4 rangers yet somehow a random zombie appeared in my base and infected a bunch of tents. Steam purchase date Dec 20 2018.
Absolutely hate when that happens the zombies coming out of nowhere from the tracks. I just put a ranger there in a tower and managed to deal with them
You need to read the papers again.. And if you just had some wasps and stuff behind the line of mutans it would be easy.. but I guess it was for the memes.
That random zombie spawning on the East side of the map almost fucked me. Legit a potential gamebreaker bug right there because that one zombie can annihilate your whole colony if all your defense is focused in the North where its supposed to be. I thought it was a fluke the first time, so I wrote it off. When it happened again a few minutes later, I posted towers and rangers down there...and Im glad I did because it happened a 3rd time.
7:20 here in lies my biggest problem with this game; Having some random zombie that should not exist that in an area that is either cleared or not supposed to have a zombie and a random zombie come and either ruins everything there by causing you to restart or set you back dangerously close. Truly it is annoying; (and I'm not even talking about the difficulty factor) I've had maps pretty much cleared and a random zombie just somehow stumble into my camp and ruin everything. Anyone got an explanation?
Zombies often hide behind treas or so. They can also spawn outside the edge of the map and then move in. One good strategy is to move a single unit as far from the zombies you know are left as it can and activate chase mode. This will cause the unit to home in on the closest zombie. If it moves in another direction than towards the known enemy, you know there is a zombie somewhere you missed (the unit should get it now though). Deactivate chase mode before the unit suicide against a zombie horde though. If you have cleared the map, always hit chase mode with a few units, if they start moving, you have not cleared the map. I've also had a zombie stuck inside a tree that was inaccessible. In order to kill the zombie (mandatory for that map), I had to move a unit as close as possible and then attack that unit with splash damage so the zombie gets hit as well since it couldn't be attacked directly.
This thing just happens. I had the EXACT same shit happen to me in 1 of my playthrough in Cape Storm. I dont even know why this thing happens. There is no connection at that part of the map. Its just dead empty
