My favorite local liquor store just received his barrel pick of Rebel Wheated. Best bourbon I've ever had. I will definitely have to ask him about getting the Wheated from Bardstown!!!!
These tasted amazing out of the barrel in the rickhouse. Once they announced the prices I liked them even more. One of the best news I got from then during my last visit was a nationwide Goose Island collaboration coming.
I'm really looking forward to trying these, especially after the comment, "If this is your first taste of Bardstown, you will be pleased." Very powerful statement as the Discovery Series is delicious!!
I enjoy It's Bourbon Night and I enjoy pretty much everything by Bardstown Bourbon Company so this was a perfect show for me. Thrilled the company is trending towards home grown affordable bourbon and that our trusted reviewers are down with it. Happy New Year Chad and Sara!
I got to try these in October right outta the barrel and all 3 were exceptional!! The wheater was my favorite and the bottle I’ll be keeping my eye out for. Cheers
Wish we could get Bardstown here in Oregon. I’d love to try some. How about an episode about choosing a bourbon for a cocktail? I don’t know how to do that. Issues like price, proof, rye content, wheat content, finished, etc. Happy New Year!
In November I also did a rickhouse barrel thieving tour at BBC and was very excited to hear about Origin. All the source cask strength whiskeys were outstanding--wish I could buy it that way!--and I'm all in on giving these a try ASAP.
I've been excited about this release since the rickhouse tasting we did a few months ago. Supposedly the stuff we tasted was going into these releases and the whiskey was great! I really enjoyed the Rye.
Bardstown is one distillery I haven’t had any of their products or visited. Went to Kentucky twice last year but wasn’t able to make it. When I go back in March I’m definitely making a stop.
I too tried the barrel proof version from the barrels with their Barrel Thieving tour and loved all 3 expressions. I'd prefer barrel proof, but I am always keeping an eye out for great low proof (
This is fantastic good on Bardstown and I will support them and buy these. I'm glad they are trying to do something to buck the trend because I agree with you Sarah it is becoming predatory and abusive pricing wide in the Industry.
We tried this on a thieving tour back in September and couldn’t wait for them to be released here in Ohio. Grabbed the wheated BIB and it is sooo tasty! Excited for the Rye
After your review, I've been looking for the origin series. Just found it today and the wheater, WOW! I like it better than Weller S.R , but Larceny B522 is worth the extra $. BUT I'm going back for another bottle of the Origin at $45.
How nice is must be to have a partner that says "And how much was THAT bottle?" And you don't have to lie and say "$20 babe." They're all $20. Always $20. Lol.
was really hoping to see the rye uncorked as well! I love both of these releases and they'll be staples on my bar. with the finishing on the rye i'm really curious if its a flavor bomb and worth the extra $20.
Tried the Origin series and I enjoyed it. Have not had the wheated high proof yet. The Fusion and Discovery batches I have tried are better, but they are also more expensive. I agree with our hosts that this company kills it routinely and I don't get the revulsion to sourced juice. Also, the Chateau bottle was killer.
Can't wait to try these two! You mentioned that you paid for these, so did you buy them the morning of Jan. 6, then film and release this video, all before noon??? I'm going to pretend you did haha
Just saw the Origin Series today. After trying their Fusion (#3 was a hitter), Disco and special collabs, I'm quite interested to see what their straight distillate tastes like.
Picked up the Origin Black label wheater BIB for 49.99 and really like it, especially since it is their own juice and the price point. I will pick up the White label, which is $44.99 in my area. Probably pass on the rye.
High rye bourbon. Can't beat my clyde mays 6yr special reserve 110pf for 60 bucks. I am interested in the wheater though. Still haven't seen it here @ high times liquor in orange county.
Have avoided theirs because they were sourced, and because we were not that impressed for the price when did a tasting at the distillery, but I will get this one.
I haven't pulled the trigger on trying Bardstown yet... is it really that good? I know everyone's pallet is different but I haven't heard anything bad about it... also haven't heard much about it. Thanks!
These were just released to the public a few hours ago, so if you're still not sure about jumping into the brand, wait a while for other reviews of these to come out, but we obviously love them and would recommend them.
Looking forward to tasting all of these. Slightly disappointed at the 96 proof point on two of them but I'm sure once they get the pipeline filled with these there will be room for higher proof releases.
Only guessing here, but they probably wanted to enter the market with 100% their own distillate in the best price category they could so they would have more diversity in the pricing of their entire line. Also, the average drinker seems to like things around the 90 to 100 proof range, so it makes sense that these would have the most mass appeal right out of the gate. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a cask strength version down the road, or maybe they'll save that for single barrel picks. If so, I hope we can do one!
Bardstown white label origin? $40? Oh hell yeah. This is the bottle to keep on hand at all times. Seriously the best bourbon for the best price. Hands down!
Not sure why you're saying these are high value. 6 year and 96 proof is on the roughly same level of Elijah Craig or Buffalo trace. I did like the white label (only one I tried) a lot but the price is just ok for me.

We’re super excited about the Goose Island collab!!
I'm really looking forward to trying these, especially after the comment, "If this is your first taste of Bardstown, you will be pleased." Very powerful statement as the Discovery Series is delicious!!
Thank you for your nosing and tasting notes. This had made my decision to get the wheated BIB that much more simple. Looking forward to more videos.
Thanks, Happy New Year!
Been stoked for these to drop ever since I visited Bardstown BC this past summer! Can't wait to try them!!
So bloody excited for these!! Love the price point with that 6-year age statement-nice disrupter for the market!!
I got to try these in October right outta the barrel and all 3 were exceptional!! The wheater was my favorite and the bottle I’ll be keeping my eye out for. Cheers

Cheers Chad & Sara 🥃
Love you all! So glad you did this video. I have both bottles coming to me next week.
Awesome, thanks!

I have tried them both and love them both. Can't beat the price. great to see Bardstown putting out their own stuff. Can't wait for the Rye.
I forgot those were coming out in January. I need them!
i really like Bardstown. Very excited these are coming out.
I'm excited. Bardstown is legit top shelf. Thanks for the update guys. I'm in Leitchfield so I may be making a distillery visit soon.

Mmm these sound great and at 6 years old even better. Great analysis.
Got my hands on these two, oh man they're great
Sampled the rye recently, and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to purchasing all three.
Thank you for the insight. I do love Rye.😁
Took a tour and had the cask strength pours at around 5 years…amazing then!
I finally picked up the high rye bourbon i really love it. Its an elevated Ole Gran Dad Bonded delicious.
Finally a Bardstown juice I’m really excited about. I am on
the wheater camp on this one. Can’t wait for this to show up here. Cheers!
I really like all your reviews! I have the high rye bourbon and enjoy it but I think I’m going to grab the wheatear tomorrow!
It was awesome getting to try these at the meet-up. WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
How nice is must be to have a partner that says "And how much was THAT bottle?" And you don't have to lie and say "$20 babe." They're all $20. Always $20. Lol.
Excellent much more reasonable prices
I love my long sleeve tee.
Got to be the most objective whiskey channel. Keep it up guys, love your content!
Much appreciated!
The oak staves on the rye are toasted. Can't wait for this series to release Bardstown has been crushing it.

But of course ;)
I just picked up the origin wheat, will be a few days before I can get to it but I’m really looking forward to cracking it open!
I also did the Rick house right out of the barrel in October. I’ve been looking forward for them since. I just got the bib today. Yeah
Great review.
I liked the high Rye better, but i like that orange zest and sweetness. The Wheated was a little more bready, but great.
I can't wait for this to come to our market. I'm curious to taste the Wheater next to the Yellow label Wilderness Trail.
Looking over Chad’s shoulder, oh THAT’S what happened to all the bourbon at Castle & Key.
I'm impatient so I ordered both online and wow! I love that wheater lol. Time to stop hunting Wellers haha. Cheers guys.

I can't wait for them to arrive in NorCal! Also, what/who is taller, the wee sample bottle of rye or Little Sara?
I think Little Sara is about he same height, actually!
Looking forward to tasting all of these. Slightly disappointed at the 96 proof point on two of them but I'm sure once they get the pipeline filled with these there will be room for higher proof releases.
We also did the barrel tasting tour last summer. Why not cask strength though?

Legit for sure! These are going to be hits!
Anyone know where they distribute to? I'm from Arizona.
I'm really happy about those price points. Looking forward to trying them.
Are Origins going to be readily available ongoing?
Thankfully, yes!
The wheater sounds like it would be great with some cigars.
This video is a year old. Their rye is now out. How is it?
I'd like to try the Origin series. So far, I haven't been a fan of wheated bourbons
surprised none one secondary today lmao
Original white label just won the international wine and spirits competition and scored a 98 and blew out all the big dogs.
Love Sara. Why not both!? Cheers
Now if I can just find it in ny local store.

Their origin white label at $44 is a bargain
