Human kitchen is our favorite!!! The homeless Sonoma County wide has been a challenge and the camp in RP was an interesting choice of the county. I believe the homeless numbers were down more than 20% in 2023 which is good progress!
I’ve read there is some multi million dollar community development in the works where they are planning on building a central downtown with stores, restaurants etc. Still true? And when is it supposed to be completed?
I grew up in Rohnert Park on Santa Alicia dr (A section) and then on Snyder lane back when Rohnert Park was a little country town surrounded by fields full of Jack Rabbits and creeks. I graduated from Rancho Cotati High. I live in Astoria Oregon now but saw your video while looking up real estate in Sonoma county. 😊
RP is decent place, im a 22 year resident. Problem is there are more low income housing being built and lets face it, those arent the types of people I want to associate with. Sonoma County as a whole isnt as nice as it was 15 years ago.
RP is nice! We can agree with the low income housing as much as it is a benefit to some. Still, there is a ton of more luxury ($1-3M) communities in the works, too! 🙌🏻
Our dream retirement town is Petaluma but we can’t afford it. Or we could if we wanted to live in a 1,000 square foot home for $800,00. So Rohnert Park might have to suffice since we want to be in Sonoma County
@@smesui1799 yep, we have some homeless population in Sonoma County. Interestingly it’s not just from SF, but our area has been dubbed a homeless haven. Still, the homeless population has decreased about 25% in the last year which is great
I just moved here from Santa Rosa. This is an excellent and fairly accurate assessment. I use public transit and must concede that SR's bus system is much better than RP's. I actually really like the neighborhood feel. Overall I think it feels much safer than Santa Rosa. The homeless problem is much worse in SR than it is in RP. I did notice the amenities issue. As a plus, we have a scaled down Walmart that is essentially the size of Safeway with more economical prices. It is slso close to the larger Walmart. I'm still hoping to find a good church here in RP. Thanks for the video.
Living in Cotati, going to Gronola State in the 70s, I despised the Rohnert Park/San Jose cookie cutter Suburbia... RP, no centralized point, no village.. Such a contrast to Cotati with character. Of course, Cotati could have too much character to the point of HippiePotcracy. Still I miss the semi rual or rual feel of many unique Cotati homes I wanted Sonoma State to have a Cotati address, or at least Cotati being themajor hub for the university., With Sonoma State expanding north of Copeland Creek, Rohnert Park Expressway, seems to be used more than East Cotati Avenue. I used to be able to see the Mikey Way from around Sonoma State.. Now, there's much light pollution. That monster casino destroys the specialness. My condo is in Lost Wages. Las Vegas is affordable. Beautiful Red Rock Canyon is close by... I rather sweat by the sun than working extra hours, sweating for the boss. I avoid the Strip. It saddens me that the holistic mindset of Sonoma, is transformed to depleated souls walking out of that Rohnert Park casino all hours, day and night. This has to affect the greater area.
It’s definitely a boring town, fine for me since I am retired.Very walkable nice trails threw the city,Good shopping lots of choices. But what is strange lots of loud cars and motorcycles, just driving around making noise it seems,oh the casino big deal! How the college students pay rent here I have no idea!No jobs for young people, landscaping, winery work maybe?Plus Santa Rosa is not a big time city,it’s about 7 miles away. Also all the condos and apts are very small, talking 700 to 950 square feet. That’s my take.
Don't move they're not enough color and mixture and don't get me started about Sonoma State University no color very racist towards black students I worked there for 10 years not to kind for people of color
You’re not wrong, I lightly mentioned that in the demographics topic. There’s not a ton of diversity in Rohnert Park but it is increasing year over year. Still, it may not be the right place for everyone which is why we made this video 😀
Hunan kitchen is the bomb! Ummm, RP has a ton of homeless people, thats the only crappy thing I can think of

That’s great, we love Sonoma County and hope it never loses the country feel as it continues to evolve! Thanks for checking out our channel 🙌🏻

It sounds perfect; not to big, yet big enough.
@@trkernan321 you got that right! Small town feel with all the amenities 🙌🏻

What about the homeless overflow from the San Francisco area ?

@@hellosonomacounty The temperate climate there attracts. it helps when you don't have a roof.
