For me the banger is not the Oneplus 13, but the 13R. It has pretty much the same specs without the Snapdragon Elite. For most people it doesn't make sense to pay 50% more for the 13.
Wow this lady does the best phone reviews I've seen! I especially appreciate discussion of the sidebar and multitasking features! No one talks about that stuff and it's one of the most important things for me. More Android reviews please! The likes of the latest Vivo and Xiaomi flagships with their awesome cameras for example
Happy new year Thao.🎉 One Plus decided to surpass the competition in IP rating, from having non few years back to surpassing the competition. Oxygen looks pretty clean.
Queen Thao & Princess Ren are back! I was low-key stunned to see a OnePlus review tho lol. The 13 looks great, they've legit been tryna steal me from Samsung for a while now, and they get closer with every release.
When it detects an app using excessive power, it'll ask if you want to auto-optimize the app. If you turn that on then yeah, the app gets killed pretty quick. Otherwise, I haven't noticed any major issues with it.
So with the IR blaster i can walk around at night and turn peoples TV off,... im really going to consider this, but i wanna wait is Samsung pulling an apple and release the same phone again or are we getting something new?
Sad to say, I moved off the Oneplus bandwagon. I love my oneplus 7tpro 5G McLaren, still. But , as being late to the game , they missed out on my decision to go with the Samsung ecosystem rather than , bump in an outsider. Intriguing phone, wonder abut battery holding up years later. And software differences + timely updated , forced my decision. Beautiful scooter shot. Has it been 2 years ! Omg.
Not the same level as Apple or Samsung!!!! My 15 Pro Max x2 and 5x are full of noise. I switched to the S24 Ultra, same issue, but better than Apple at least.
The OnePlus 9 I got was okay until the screen started to get lines, exactly one year after I started using it despite the phone not falling. And the lines increased progressively. Now I'm skeptical about buying their brands. I love everything you've said about it though
@@thao Thanks Thao for your quick and prompt response. The reason for asking this question was, in 2023 my wife purchased an unlocked OnePlus Nord CE phone from India and brought it to Canada. Sadly it never worked on Fido network. Not sure why (may be the bandwidth or frequency issues). Considering that Best Buy is selling these unlocked phones it's quite possible that these phones work in Canada. I am tempted to buy this because of Hasselblad camera 🙂
This is the global version right? I'm too very impressed with that phone and actually find the camera processing very pleasing to the eye....I even wonder if I prefer it over my Samsung...
I forgot this company still existed as I remember the first phone I bought and what a joke it was, but it was their first phone and it was okay after you let it sit in the window in the sun for a few days so it didn't yellow.
Thao Very Nice for some reason it looks wider.I really miss IR blaster.I also like their charging cable quality over others. Thanks so much for sharing.💯✌️P.S.Not so little getting so big & Cute
Unfortunately, oneplus lost me after the 7T. I just want a phone such as the 13 but with a battery of at least 6000mah and not 5840mah marketed as 6000. Also, the camera bump should be centered like the vivo x200 pro, not like it is now. Yes there are still people who yearn for simmetry. Lastly, I would happily burn 800 to 850 euros for it but no more. The starting price of 999 euros is considered a theft in my book since I can purchase right now the Chinese variant for 667 euros, new. And don't get me started on the lost frames during video recording... Oh well, I hope I am not the only one looking at it this way!
Ok, OnePlus, we see you! 🤔 I would like an upgrade but nothing's got me saying oh my God I have to have that. Still rocking my Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra in mint condition. It pays to use cases and glass screen protectors.
Looks very nice. Too bad about the hit or miss exposure, but compared to the others the camera pics look quite natural not over processed, something I more and more regret in any phone of the last years (Google. Apple, Samsung). IR blaster is great though, wish they'd included SD card slot as well 😇 ... I once had a hyped 0ne+ 8 Pro flagship - in deed very fast but quite unpolished software, firmware updates often with some months delay and very unreliable camera with bad colors. So doubt I'd dare to try again, especially now being addicted to OneUi + Goodlock I fear 0ne+ or in general every company besides the real big ones Google, Apple, (MS, Meta) in the long run will get more and more behind in AI development, as they simply don't have these big software dev teams and money. Doubt that even Samsung could keep up
hummm iv seen comparison videos vs other phones and i barely notice the other phones being better on camera...i could care less about telephoto...iv used it on maybe 1% of my photo shots xD
Apple and Samsung still okay, but google pixel with that price tag and giving you their tensor chip ? Nahhh ... I'll still choose oneplus over google phone.
I was about to buy this phone, so I did some research. I did absolutely find a deal breaker - four years of updates. When the competition is doing 7 years of updates, that just doesnt cut it.
It's hilarious that you think you want to buy a flagship now and hold them for 7 years, while technology moves forward and has a noticeable leap every 2-3 years. The Si-C battery is the new trend this year, with about 6000mah battery, every phone lasts nearly 2 days. How does it feel to hold a 5-year-old 3000mah phone in your hand right now? Which can barely keep up with a haft of the day?
Do you keep your phone for 4 years? 😂 I didn't think so. I don't either. Who cares. What's important is OnePlus dedicated to monthly security updates. Current monthly updates, not always a month or two behind monthly updates.
@TaylorABell Yes, I do. Unless it breaks or gets lost. Spending 900 bucks on something that doesn't do anything different from the previous model is crazy. It's rare these days that there's any innovation at all, the battery tech in the OP13 is about as new as it gets. But hey, if you want to throw money at new models every year, go ahead. I think that's a giant waste of money.
The camera is disappointing on the onplus 13 even OnePlus 12 take better results shots then the OnePlus 13 especially the zoom on the OnePlus 12 is much better This time the op13 is crazy overpriced End believe me with 6000mah the screen on time isn't that great when compared with xiaomi 15 pro or oppo find x8pro vivo x200 pro this phone have up 2 lhours screen on time then the oneplus 13 This time the op13 is crazy overpriced

Ir blaster what the hell mkbhd didn't mention that
Binging op13 reviews right now. This is by far the best and the most complete video.
Btw baby Thao is so freaking cuuute !
Thank you, shes's growing so fast and loves the cameras haha
Was surprised to see Thao reviewing a OnePlus phone but I'm glad she did 😁❤️
Thanks for watching!

You'll suffer with the camera. I bought the 12R and regretted it for that reason.
@D753e The camera on the 12R was already fine for most people, but the 13R has a different camera set, with a telephoto lens.
@@D753e that would make sense, cheaper phone means cheaper camera
I pre-ordered the 13 and will trade in the 8T. I keep my phones for a long time.
Screen is not as nice either, only a 2x telefoto is a no go for me
Ooh an IR blaster, takes me back to the more ‘fun’ phones that used to come out.
This looks like a really nice phone!
Yeah, most people have their phones in possession at all times, so why look for a remote!
Does the OP 13 have an IR blaster?
Just saw the mention. 4:57

Hey thao... how's your kid doing???..Hope he is all grown up
Out of all the Oneplus 13 review i seen. Just love the the quality from your video.
8:21 all three photos have different colors, which photo had more true to life color?
Somewhere between the iPhone and Pixel colors
could you tell me those games you were playing on there? i know the first one was COD, but what was the second one and the racing game? They look fun.
Streets of Rage 4 & Wreckfest
wow i havent seen anyone talk about those gestures they are slick
4:15 game name?
Great video, as usual, much love from Nigeria 🇳🇬
Appreciate the love!
@@thao how secure are the biometrics built into the OnePlus 13?
Hey, have you noticed any aggressive app closing? I heard Oxygen OS is known for closing apps without the user wanting them to be closed.
When it detects an app using excessive power, it'll ask if you want to auto-optimize the app. If you turn that on then yeah, the app gets killed pretty quick. Otherwise, I haven't noticed any major issues with it.
I actually returned my pixel 9 pro for this phone. I find the camera processing to be less artificial looking and it has more character.
So with the IR blaster i can walk around at night and turn peoples TV off,... im really going to consider this, but i wanna wait is Samsung pulling an apple and release the same phone again or are we getting something new?
Sadly, its gonna be mostly the same. The 45 watts for sure ain't going anywhere.
Yes and you can control a lot more than just TVs with the IR Blaster

Samsung used to make the displays for oneplus. Running the oneplus 12 for a year and ive had no green lines.
@Xiao_Hu_ZY that's why people kept asking if it's a Samsung phone I'm using once they see the lines
Running an oppo for years. No screen issues
Every time I watch, I walk away with new insights. This video shows that growth is a result of persistence, adaptation, and consistent effort.
Hi Thao - nice informative video about OnePlus. Considering you are in Toronto, does this phone work on Fido network?
I've tested it on Rogers (which owns Fido) and it works perfectly

Better than pixel 9 pro?
Pixel cameras are better. OnePlus 13 has better hardware. Software is a toss up. Pixel has better AI, but OnePlus has more features.
@thao I think for next 3 4 years to a Master's student, which one should pick?
Why is nobody taking about the 100$ price increase? 🧐 , the price has cime so close to s25 plus, no longer the easy choice 😢
