    I don’t think he was initially arrested for the arson. I think he pissed the cop off cuz the cop was directing the car to turn and he cut the car off and then he was trying to leave when the cop grabbed him. I think the cop detained him and in the questioning he admitted the the fire. Cuz the fireman won’t know if it was arson until the fire is out and they can investigate. They don’t do that why the fire is going.

      Unless someone witnessed him setting his house ablaze in which case the officer would of had cause to arrest for suspicion of arson.

    “An Uxbridge man pleaded guilty to arson on Tuesday and was sentenced to a minimum of one and a half years in state prison after setting fire to his own house last summer. Christian Carven, 43, formerly of 4 Albee Road, pleaded guilty to arson of a dwelling after three-alarm fire on July 3, 2013 destroyed his home. Worcester Superior Court Judge James Lemire sentenced Carven to one and a half to two years in state prison on the arson charge. Carven also pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of property over $200 and was sentenced to five years probation after his release from prison. As conditions of his probation, Carven must stay away from the neighborhood, with a one-mile exclusion zone from the intersection of Albee and Millville roads, and the witnesses. He will also be monitored by GPS device and undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations and treatment. He will also undergo random drug testing for illegal drugs and alcohol. Fire investigators, with the help of a state police canine, found evidence of a flammable liquid in the home where Carven lived with his wife and two children, who were not home at the time of the fire. Carven was charged two days after the fire and held on $100,000 bail after a prosecutor noted he was a suspect in several other suspicious fires in the neighborhood from 2005 and two in 2009. He was not charged in any of the other fires, according to the Worcester District Attorney’s office. In the case of the arson at his home, prosecutors presented evidence at the time that Carven had been seen leaving his home on a bicycle shortly before the fire. Before he left, he and his wife had an argument after she discovered evidence he had been drinking and then left with the two kids and said she planned to file for divorce, the prosecutor said.”
    It was rebuilt in 2014.

      If he set the fire (I haven't done any research on this - yet) the swine put a heck of a lot of people in danger: all first responders, every single driver that had to give way to emergency vehicles, and all of his neighbors. If one pedestrian or driver between the first responders' points or origin, all the way to the scene, had be injured - or killed - a whole additional set of people would have been thrown into anguish. Really don't care why he set the fire but I'm furious that he placed people in positions to be hurt or killed. What a selfish prick!

      The home was fully involved when the first engine arrived. If you think they are going to race around especially when no other homes are at risk of catching on fire you are not involved with any fire services. Showing up and everyone going gangbusters when not necessary only causes accidents and possibly injury.

    I seriously doubt that's the homeowner being arrested for arson. There's no way that the police would have conclusive evidence that quickly. The fire hasn't even been extinguished. Investigations of this type typically take weeks to months. The bike rider probably got arrested for crossing a fire line or possibly had an outstanding warrant.

      You are absolutely correct. Obviously you are very smart and I really like people like you that make sensible post. It actually is not arson unless he tries to collect insurance. That’s the legal standard. So if he gets arrested prior to making a claim I have to ask how is it arson?

    • @lindanwfirefighter4973
      @lindanwfirefighter4973 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Steven Phillips it is not arson unless he tries to collect insurance? In what world? I was a fire investigator for 12 years and I can say that is BS!

    • @lindanwfirefighter4973
      @lindanwfirefighter4973 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes he can be arrested and taken away for questioning and NO the investigation does NOT need to be concluded yet. Say a neighbour observed him starting the fire than leaving on his bike. Than the neighbour told a firefighter on scene who told his captain who called for the investigator to come because now it’s a suspicious fire. In the mean time the cops have been notified and low and behold the owner returns on his bike trying to look all innocent with that “Oh shit my house is on fire” attitude only neighbour points him out to the cops who arrest his ass on suspicion of arson so his clothes, hands etc can be examined for trace evidence.

    • @danielmurphy1100
      @danielmurphy1100 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lindanwfirefighter4973You're certainly entitled to your opinion. If you were indeed a fire marshal then you would have first hand knowledge of how difficult it is to prove arson beyond a reasonable doubt. I made my comments based upon the events/evidence that was captured by the camera and didn't speculate/fabricate about what may have transpired or "what if" scenarios.

    • @maggy3418

      @puck slapper The vast majority of American fire departments have adapted Heroic tactics instead of focusing on Stopping The Threat which is their job. They like to turn YOUR BURNING HOME into an adventure and photo op. It's is much more exciting running into a burning building than one that you have extinguished. If they Do Their Job and eliminate the threat Quickly and Safely, the Job turns into stinky, wet, hot and cold WORK! Don't doubt that for one second. UL and ISFSI have training videos that are 95% correct but they don't use them as they involve ONLY work and no fun.
