Honestly, I’d put the conveyer drive as #2. I typically go for size as my number one most important thing in my builds, but as the carrier is massive, I’d put it as #1.
I'd say a good idea for the conveyor would be a reverse thrust hover drive to make the speed variable, making it even more meta. It's generally best to combine stuff tbh.
conveyers were designed as conveyers and not as engines it would bee more likely that rick would just make a new engine that functions as a conveyer keeping the conveyer as its intended purpose while adding a new engine that's built better to take its use case
Hmm… an argument/debate about Hovers vs Conveyors I see. Well I’ma state my own opinion about these two engines. - Hover Drives are probably like everyone’s go-to because it’s simple to use, simple to make, and would grant you enough speed to outrun most opponents. But they lack acceleration depending on how strong your hover drive is. Yes, you can probably get more speed out of a Hover drive than a Conveyor Drive (sometimes), but you’d have to place a lot more hover thrusters to go fast and that may involve extra and excessive motorlocks. To put it simply, hover drives are great, they grant you speed and simplicity, but lack acceleration and other major variables when it comes to PvP aircraft. - Some say Conveyor Drives aren’t as good, tuning could be a hassle, drives possibly breaking, overturning your aircraft?… Well if you want to be the top dog, Ace of Aces in Plane Crazy. You have *no* choice but to grab yourself a reliable conveyor drive design and get tuning because a typical hover drive by itself won’t carry you for too long in the world of High Performance Fighters. The things that make it seem bad can also be it’s pros. Hard to tune? That means you have a lot of customization when it comes to tuning your conveyor drive, you can make it focus more on Speed or Acceleration depending on what your main focus is. Conveyor drive unreliable/constantly breaking? That means you screwed something up because your drive should be killing itself every sortie you do, you learn proper tuning techniques when using conveyor drives. Over turning your aircraft? Well this is actually somewhat useful because since conveyor drives grant you stupid meta acceleration (depending on your tuning), you can pull some crazy maneuvers like snap turns and all sorts of crap no hover drive can do. You also learn how to truly control your aircraft, you learn the proper etiquette of knowing when to turn, how to stabilize your jet, and what exact maneuvers are the most appropriate to avoid getting yourself killed. Basic summary, conveyor drives are for the more expert players of Plane Crazy, if you use these, this means you know or have consistent knowledge about tuning not only conveyor drives, but entire aircraft. Conveyor drives grant you things a hover drive can’t, it shines in the agility department. Yes these may be hard to use, but like I said, conveyor drives are for the experts, not experienced, nor especially beginners. Now I forgot to say this, but YOU CAN’T USE A CONVEYOR DRIVE BY ITSELF! Why? Because that’s stupid and that’s not how you utilize Conveyor Drives, the way you use them is by combining them with another source of thrust. You can combine a Hover Drive + Conveyor Drive, or Super Rockets + Conveyor drive. If you go to Destroyer’s PvP Guide video, I made a comment describing the main/most popular propulsion types in Plane Crazy. Now which do I prefer you may ask? Well I personally use a hover drive for all of my aircraft. “But why are you ranting on about why Conveyor Drives are better than Hover Drives if you don’t even use Conveyor Drives?” I have one main reason, my aircraft cannot fit a conveyor drive, plus, I’ve seen, met, and played with and against the best of the best players, and what do they all have in common? They all use Conveyor Drives because of such benefits, a Hover drive *WON’T* be able to do the things they want by itself. What they really do is do a combination of a powerful Conveyor Drive AND a Hover Drive, granting them the basic speed and variable thrust levels of a hover drive, while having the acceleration and agility granted by the conveyor drive when they truly need it. Especially when they fight against another fighter with those same sources of thrust. Now I will say this, I once saw someone have an aircraft that’s powered by a Hover Drive, but has the acceleration of a Conveyor Drive, now I’m not sure how that’s truly possible, but if you can pull off stuff like that, then maybe a conveyor drive isn’t really needed after all. Edit: I was dumb enough to forget that you can’t use a Conveyor Drive by itself, I already added it to the end of the Conveyor Drive section of this comment… Wow I can’t believe I forgot that major part, sorry guys.
Hover is easier and more practical in most situations. Conveyer's only advantage is speed and acceleration but you can't tune that speed any bit. Hover drives in the case of pvp builds requires you to use other engines and because hover is a independent drive for every situation I would say its a more fitting number one.
@@saplingseedsaccrew3143 Ok so I have literally zero clue if you’re gonna respond to this, but I edit the comment about Conveyor Drives. I won’t say it here since that’s tbh a waste of time lol. If I could add my opinion, hover + superthruster combo is most realistic engine, you have a base-line thrust combined with a thrust that builds up and slows down on turns

Ive tested the INSANE Conveyor Drive on a tutorial-sized plane. Turns out that the thing makeing the speed was the movement of the suspension blocks. (only on the big one) maybe?
hover engine do have an on off command, but only on a double engine. if you have not one but two hover engines, put a motor 2 between them which will turn 90 degrees when keybind clicked. add a text glued to the motor, it will replace the motors shown in the video. There you go, you can on/off the hover thrusters just by clicking the motor 2 keybind.
I don't know why this guy says that hover drive does not have an on/off but who knows this video was posted a year ago, but if anyone is watching right now you can replace the motors in hover drive for pistons plus you can most definitely turn hover drive off and on. A pro tip is if you have any linear space in your build, you can extend the hover drive for more speed and if you got a motor lock you can just stack multiple hover drives in a single space.
